    Vic! You're my kind of people! What a great setup you have there. There's a soft spot in my heart for EMs of the 1960s and 70s. With a special emphasis on Gottliebs. There were some games there which I recognized and have played. Yet you showed me some others which were completely new to me. And they were beautiful. If you were within reach, I'd surely join you in playing them and I'd call myself lucky to have those machines available to play.

    If i ever go to the states a visit of your collection is a MUST! I am writing from germany and believe me - these single player "Wedgeheads" are seen very seldom here. Germany was a "Four Player Pinball Country". I am into EM Pinball, too - although they had already left the locations when i went there as a young boy in the late 1970ies (i only met AZTEC and Space Mission and a Jackpot). EE was my era. Nevertheless i realized in 2011 with my first EM "Jolly Roger" how cool it is to bring the old classics back to life. I have seen and played some of your models in around 2015 when there was a big exhibition near-by in the capitol town of Volkswagen, called "Wolfsburg". This was the ignition for me to buy a "Slick Chick" (super-classic Gottlieb Wedgehead! Unbelievable to own it!) which was offered 2 years later and which i have NEVER seen on the private market here in germany before or after. The stories you are telling about your games are awesome (A ride back to the "Candy Store"....!!!! I think this is what we call "Kiosk" here in germany.). You saw them all on location and it would be really, really interesting talking to you about these times long ago. I love those stories from guys who REALLY were on location back then. Keep rockin' the silverball! Greetings from germany.

    Awesome video Vic, I live in Aventura Florida and I was a kid of the 70's we had an arcade in Miami called Fun Fair, I remember playing all these fantastic Gottlieb EM pinball machines, my favorites were Target Alpha, Spirit of 76, Surf Champ, 300 bowling, and any game with a lot of drop targets. My love of the games is not just playing the games it's the great artwork on the blackglass and playing field that is also appealing to me, these games are historical artistic works of art to me. They have a new vintage pinball arcade in Delray beach called Silverball Museum, this is the second location, the original is in Asbury Park New Jersey, I plan on going this month, love your videos and your passion, I wish I lived next to you so I could visit, I went to an arcade show in Hollywood Florida, they have it once a year at different locations, they only had 5 Gottliebs at the show, it was very disappointing because I have zero interest in the newer pinball's, but I have to tell you playing those 5 machines was such a great high for me, the sounds of the machines is like being transported into a time machine and back into my childhood. The room you created is something I fantasy about doing one day, you really are the Willy Wonka for middle age men, maybe one day you can send me a golden ticket to enter your pinball paradise lol Please make more videos.

    Thanks for the detailed comment. I can hear it in your voice the love for pinball you have especially the Gottlieb Games. I am close friends with the owner of both Silverball museum. I live in NJ but have a place in south Florida for the past 8 years and have been to the Del Ray Silverball Museum. Are you a member on the website called PINSIDE if not you should join up its free. There you can contact me privately for a possible invitation to see/play my collection of 40+ machines. I enjoyed hearing about your younger days when you hung out at the Miami arcade called Fun Fair. Check out my newest video I did yesterday 7-31-17 I bought a new camera and it shows my basement collection of Gottlieb wedgeheads very clear now. Also Google Vic Camp Pinball to learn more about myself in the hobby.

    You'd need a team of horses to get me out of you game room Vic. I'd crank some tunes on the juke box and probably start on Centigrade 37. Give me a pot of coffee and I'll be there all freaking day. I'm 39 and trying to keep EM's alive. There's nothing better than a Gottlieb. I only have two wedgeheads. Gold Strike and Playball. Jet Spin, Royal Flush, Spirit of '76, Quick Draw and William's Space Odyssey complete my collection. You have an amazing collection. Load them up in a truck and I'll make sure they get played. Love it from Oregon.

    Gottlieb was the Cadillac of the coin op pinball industry from 1940's to late 1970's and built some of the best EM games ever. I played the Gottlieb's EM pinball machines in the 1960's and 70's on route and was addicted to them, but brought me so much joy then and still today. Big Thanks goes out to the Gottlieb family.

    Man what an collection you have. I just started collecting pins when I stumbled across a video here on KZread; I remember playing at my grandmother's neighbor that had an evil canival and I never had much money to play but long story short I just bought 6 brand new pinball machines of the now era. But I have to eventually have a couple of EMs for nostalgic purchase plus I really enjoy playing any pins but I still enjoy and appreciate the EMs. Great vid and thanks for sharing. Super awesome collection and I hope to one day have at least half of pins in numbers that you have. 20 pins would be enough for me. And I will make it happen

    2001 and Dimension is the first drop target game Gottlieb ever manufactured and they did a marvelous job too. Two great players for sure. It nice that Dimension has the game play that the drop targets reset after knocking them down. Even though 2001 drop targets only reset at the start of a new game....i still like 2001 over Dimension.

    P.S....I was reading your story about the Williams 'Blue Chip' you found that had the 18,000 original plays on pinball database. I have a Blue Chip in great condition that I love playing. One of my friends who is a wedgehead collector thinks it's the worst game ever, lol. That's pinball for ya. There's something for everyone. I also have a Williams 'Argosy' from 1977 that is a great player in my opinion, and a 'Team One' wedgehead add-a-ball from '77.

    Williams Blue Chip single player is a great playing game. It’s sequence to completing to get to the Special when lit and other features during game play are interesting to the player and keeps the player coming back for more attempts on beating the machine.

    well, the Williams reverse wedge heads from the early 1960’s are some of my favorites. I have a 1963 Williams reverse wedge head called Skill Pool in my collection and love the game dearly enough that it resides with my basement collection of Gottlieb wedgeheads and rate it in the Top Ten best Williams EM games. I have a few videos of my Skill Pool on my KZread page, there you can learn why I rate it in the top Ten. There are other Williams reverse wedgeheads that deserve to be in my Top Ten picks to but will have to give it some more serious thought. I also have my 1968 Williams Lady Luck 2 player in my Top Ten pick. Go look the game up on my KZread page to learn why I rate it in the Top Ten. I will leave you with the above at the present time and hope to do a video of my Top Ten best games by Williams in the future. Thanks for dropping by and leaving a great comment.

    Hey Vic, Gottlieb's Rocky in 1982 replicated the Show Boat design with the four flippers. The only game that I know did that and with the roll over drain down the middle.

  • @viccamppinball

    @viccamppinball

    7 жыл бұрын

    Yeah your right. It looks a lot like Gottlieb's 1961 Show Boat (single player wedgehead) in the lower section of the playfield. I favor any pinball machine that has four flippers because it enhances game play giving a player more whacks at the silver ball. Show Boat is a game that was in my Grandmothers house in the early 1960's which i must have played thousands of times. Today i have two other four flippers games in my collection too. Here are the games Gottlieb's Big Hit and Eldorado. Another great playing four flipper game by Gottlieb is Jumping Jack (2 player) or Jack in the Box ( four player). If i had the room i would have one or the other. Thanks for dropping by and leaving a comment.

    I've been collecting for over 35 years and have had 160+ machines past through my collection. Played some top of the restored Slick Chicks, but never felt the need to search for one. The game is for sure a beautiful looking machine and well thought out game play is great, but too many dead pop bumpers for my taste. My favorite wedge heads must have a nice smooth game flow to them. If I had the space for a Slick Chick I more than likely would own one perhaps. I had some wood rails in the past and loved them a lot, but these days the collection is personal to me and mostly all my games are games i played on route back in the 1960"s and 70's. If I had extra space i would add at least 5 wood rails to my collection.
