Hi, in the province of Bergamo we affectionately call the 4 of swords "la Margì", which is a puppet and the wife of a famous traditional puppet and mask from our province, Gioppino (Giopì in lombard). The ace of cups is also sometimes called "Bòcia" (boy) or "Pissì" (apparently because it looks like he's pissing, or maybe because it reminds of the stautes of cupids in fountains that have them look like they're pissing. The one who named it must have been a funny guy). Great video!

Wow, thanks for the insider info! I know that there are many cards with regional names, but it's almost impossible to learn them without visiting each and every Italian city and getting invited to play. I really hope this series will let the rest of us in on these amazing secrets. Thanks for sharing what you know and thanks for watching!

Another amazing video. I really love these series as I do find these cards really interesting. I grew up in a French(Vienna, German variant and Paris patterns mostly) and German(William Tell pattern) suited card deck region of Slovenia and when I went to coastal Croatia I stumbled on the Triestine deck I found it so interesting that now when I go on tour of Italy some day I intend to collect them all aswell.

Thank you! Playing cards make great mementos. I have to decide how to display them all now that I finally completed the collection.

@@Play-In-Games I also have a question. Do you intend to review any of the Tarot decks e.g. Tarocco Bolgnese, Tarocco Siciliano, Tarocco Piemontese?

@@RMS_Oceanic I sure would like to. I need to get more familiar with them first. I also have a long back log of other videos I still need to edit. I plan on starting with the Bolognese one first, when I get around to them.

@@Play-In-Games +1 on looking forward to the tarot decks! Most videos online show the fortune telling aspect of them. That's fine and all, but I know there's a niche out there for people who want to find some that are suitable for playing games too!
