Veya (Aryna Kudraŭcava) will represent Belarus at the ninth edition of The Origin Song Contest in TBA, Belarus.
Veya is a young singer and songwriter from Maladziečna, Belarus, who recently graduated from university with a specialization on vocals. She has participated in numerous singing competitions from a young age, performing songs in the Belarusian and Russian languages. Her self-penned music is most often in a pop-folk style, and her Naš Puĺs Bjecca debut single is the prime example of her bright, energetic and youthful musical style accompanied by powerful and well-controlled vocals. In her own words this is: "A song about love, affection, passion and tenderness, which lurk inside a person. It's an incantation on the topic of killing these feelings and a reminder that they must not be forgotten; they shouldn't fade away and disappear forever. 'Burn brightly' is a song with its own special pagan shamanistic, enchanting atmosphere." (Via Instagram)
The video is directed by Alexander Tobolskiy and stars renowned Belarusian rhythmic gymnast Melitina Staniouta/Melicina Staniuta wearing a dress inspired by traditionial Belarusian costume, who in the original version of this dance is giving life to a folk song about a small river running low, asking it why it isn't flowing up to its banks, making this a replacement video in which two contrasting elements - water and fire - meet.
