For those wondering how the passive works exactly, she’s got two of em. Doom makes your basic abilities fear and turn green. Gloom is a mark that makes your aa have a longer range, deal magic dmg, and refund a portion of your doom cdr

Just an FYI on how her fear thing works: that bar under your mana tells you when your next basic ability will fear+interrupt dashes, that’s doom. Gloom is that mark applied to enemies when they dash near you, if you auto someone with gloom it deals bonus damage and lowers the cool down on doom. Hope that helps!

Sett, lilia, even viego isnt that complex the issue isnt so much that champs like aphelios and akshan are the norm, its that champions are released in a busted state

same goes with ezreal mid ap, if u let me land a single w, say goodbye to half your health :D also Vex ulti is VERY similar to ezreal ulti, except it has a reset, but still long coodown

Since her ult has Reset on kills and a really long cooldown, i think you should go dark harvest with cheapshot and ultimate hunter, and then either yellow or blue tree second

I'd say cheap shot, ultimate hunter and then go with blue tree cdr and mana regen. That way you can swap out the mythic for Harvester which gives more burst, cdr and movespeed. Since she seems like Veigar on the aspect of not having any escapes. Despite him complaining about the cdr on the ult. A 40-47 second cooldown on the potentiality of popping all the backline before anyone notices is pretty f*cking strong.

I absolutely love every single thing about her. The kit, the theme, the character, the depressed, anti-social vibes. 11/10 best champ

So here is a full explain of kit and core gameplay from what I’m seeing. Passive. Part 1: Doom. It’s a fear on her Q and W. It’s right and wrong. The fear will work on ANY basic abilities.(Everything but her ult). But using a Q or W will consume it whatever you hit or no. Meaning using Q or W will leave you without protection. The E will consume Doom only if you hit any enemies. Passive part 2. Gloom. Mark an enemy everytime they use a movement ability or flash. Does extra damage if u hit them, meaning anything you posses in the kit will work to do extra damage. It also reduce current cooldown of Doom. Not overall. Meaning if you have 12 seconds left on Doom only 3 seconds will be remove. Q. Pretty self explanatory from the passive part but here is extra. The « casting » time is part of the ability meaning even before the Q fly. It will do damage and Doom if available. Making possible to not be interrupted. W. Shield and Doom. Very very good peel. Suggest using it BEFORE and ability hit you only if Doom is not up. E. The backbone of the champion. Only way to reduce cooldown if enemies doesn’t have movement ability. Will work on anything (including minions!) Meaning using E then casting Q on a wave is very good to reset Doom. R(ultimate). A very far Kaisa ult but here is the trick. The ult does damage overtime so if u believe the enemie will die without you going in, you will still be awarded the reset, good combo with a oblivion orb or morelonicon to simply help if u far away. The recast on the R work more like Akali ultimate. But think of it has a Darius ult. If u want to go in. Have Doom ready and W very good way to disturb the enemies. As the ultimate do not and say again consume Doom no matter what. It is not a basic ability. Having CDR is good but I suggest more an approach to poke using Liandry’s. It will make possible to hold the Doom and may make the R reset even if u don’t go in. As for rune I would go with Arcane Comet Nullifying Orb Absolute Focus Scorch Font of life Revitalize Haste Adaptive Armor May feel weird but this allow you to stay more without making it risky. Cause yall know Mid lane be feeding all the time right ;). Good luck. GGWP

zwag keeps thinking gloom is the one that fears, zwag look at your extra bar, that's doom, and thats her fear.

Definitely would love more vex content, especially seeing you improve and understand her better.

I do love the combo riot put in where Vex can initiate with ult by dashing into the enemy team and then having w with passive ready for a big aoe fear. I think that's the main reason they limited the fear passive to being only on basic abilities. I love this battle mage shurima shuffle-esque tech

That ult of hers is such a good move against anyone who trys to flank, just hit them with it, recast, kill, then go back by hitting the enemies that your allies are facing and go in with a doom fear. A champ that definitely counters carries.

i noticed you can stack gloom on minions with your E and it does in fact lower your fear passive cd…. you can basically have perms fear passive if you e the wave and take the gloom stacks

7:59 it didnt fear because the only way to fear is with the doom part of your passive, which shows the cooldown over the passive icon, and the way it works is that it has a rather long cooldown 30 seconds and it goes down with level, but the cd gets reduced when you proc the other part of your passive, gloom, which is the eye mark thing that gives you bonus damage on next ability/attack on them

for 07:05 If I understood her passive right it should be like this: When the enemy dashes or you hit your e on minions and champions they get the gloom applied, it does extra damage when you either AA or to my understanding hit them with an ability, the gloom gets collected and you have that orange to red when full bar under your Mana which indicates once it's red when you have your fear ready which can be applied with every ability. if you collect the gloom you apply with e or through the dashes the enemies do, does your orange bar get refilled faster by gaining a little chunk beside the extra damage.

I’m really looking forward to player Vex. An engage mage ult has a lot of potential for clean up, which feels good. Furthermore, having doom up before hitting W for an AOE fear going in from back line with an ult sounds like a huge utility and fun! Lane phase seems solid as well, but obviously loses some value if your enemy doesn’t dash. I wish doom wouldn’t proc if an ability is a complete whiff, but ehh just don’t miss I guess 😂🤣 I’m still unsure about first item. It seems like Liandrys would be more useful for lane since you likely have to heavily play around the passive. The squish engage mage burst items seem better to have mid-late game once grouping occurs more. That said I’m curious if played bot as APC or support mage could work, even the jungle seems to have potential for a bush fear cause the q speed and range; especially later with the ult. First champ I’ve been excited for 🤩

I want to try her top with a slightly more durable build like Rift, Cosmic, Zhonya or something. Really want to be able to live up the moments engaging a team fight with R then a Fear W to CC several enemies. Zhonya while the team helps jump in, and clean up the fight with R resets. Idk if it’s troll but sounds fun to try.

Everytime I see this champ I am reminded of the Vex game that came out in the early 2000's. I fucking loved that game. Can only dream the name is a direct reference.

ya you have to build up your doom zwag, dashing champs just make it bulid up faster since they self mark themselves with gloom witch lowers the CD of your doom. The mark you see is just gloom, when you pop it makes you doom the fear come back up faster. You popped it a couple of times on minions right before you got dived a few times so you did not have it up. Kinda like annie stun you have to know when to hold it

The first time I played Vex I got 28 kills one of my highest kill games ever since I started in season 4. I rushed Ludens got first blood on enemy invade. Killed jg on his bank and enemy with my jg tank. I played vs Yone and feared him many times. After lvl 6 I went bot and killed their support and almost got the Adc Samir’s too. After that I was 4 and 0 and crushed the game landing many ult reset kills. Her kiting with her fears and Q is unmatched right now.

Without her ult which has a loong cooldown she is rather immobile Protobelt might be good on her

I definitely feel like Vex isn't much of a tank shredder so maybe something that gives magic pen as a passive would be good on her? I think Rocketbelt/Luden, Sorc Shoes, Zhonya, Cosmic Drive, Banshee's Veil, and Horizon Focus/Cap/Void is what I would be inclined to use on her. She seems like she likes to poke enemies down before the all in with R and bursting champs to death. The extra protection she would get from Banshee and Zhonya's would be much appreciated and help keep her alive longer in team fights along with her self-peel Fear.

Vex is definetly an anti-assassin mage like lissandra, and bursting squishies goes without question as a mage, so yeah her not killing tanks is pretty fair

I think the omnivamp ap item with the resets could be cool its fun on fid

She has _INSANE_ wave clear skills with just 80 ap she can one-shot the whole wave with just E, Q and W and with a little more ap only E+Q do the job dang, imagine her safely roaming (bcos she has fear) up and down at 8min

Vex is an anti dash champion so she hard counters Yasuo. Everytime he dashes you apply Gloom which can be procced by either aa, Q or W, dealing extra magic damage and also lowers the cooldown on Doom by 25% which allows you to fear much more often. You know when your fear is ready by looking at the orange / red bar under your mana and that your abilities turn green instead of purple. Keep in mind that when Doom (fear) is ready it will go on cooldown when you use your next ability even though you miss it. So sometimes it's better to not use abilities on minions if you fear that a gank is incoming so that you can fear the enemy ganking you

I feel like because of champs that dash and her kit that she could maybe be flexed top and dominate that lane since so many champs too have a dash

Imagine u cast hit it and immediately back and then recast ult and come flying so far back

Also the E has a faster cast time and smaller radius based on how close to yourself you cast it.

The only problem I have with her kit is how Doom is supposed to interrupt dashes, but you have no control over when you apply it (it's automatically consumed by the next ability, so you can't time it precisely for when the dash happens). It's also applied by your abilities, which are either skillshots with an obvious wind-up (making them easy to avoid with the dashes they are supposed to interrupt) or a close range AoE. Otherwise, I love everything else about her kit. I like how you punish people for dashing with her auto (like how the Warwick died because your auto followed him when he ulted out). She feels great to play. Maybe a Lichbane for more burst ? I know she has long cds, but if you get a kill faster, you can use the R refresh to proc it again. I also wonder how she does with Horizon Focus, since she has long range skills and a fear.

Maybe building full burst with a dusk would be strong as you could play like an assassin and have a way out with the invisibility

You can only fear some one if your passive (gloom) is up the mark thingy if you hit it it will reduce the cooldown of your passive(gloom) so you can quickly fear them

Her play style is a lot like Lissandra's. The dashes in, the aoe cc, the Q poke. It's just that she can't dashes out, so when the doom bar is out she's really fragile.

I am so hyped for her and to see more videos on her, please play her again with full burst ludens/horizon and maybe harvest as rune?
