    I bought a VEVOR 30 litre ultrasonic cleaner which failed within two days. The fuse holder melted and two circuit boards showed signs of overheating. They advertise a 30 day no hassle return policy and after a number of emails and requests for photos, they sent two circuit boards which solved the problem. However, one board showed signs of corrosion as it appeared as though it was stored in a very damp environment. They also refunded about 1/3 of the original cost for the bother. So far, the machine is still working. I'm hesitant to buy anything of any cost or complexity from them. Cheers from Eastern Canada! 🇨🇦

    Yep, indeed ... tools at half the cost ( as they claim) but also half the quality. I was asked by them ( after this failure of the vevor stud welder) if I wanted to test their products and announce it in my video's... whereby I would get the tools for free and 5% on the sales... I refused ... I am to direct and honest to spoil my channel with tools that are low quality. And will certainly not recommend something to subscribers or viewers that I not stand behind... Thanks for the comments

    @@D3Sshooter Steve, i have heard that offer elsewhere on youtube. VEVOR seems unafraid of criticism of their products. It reminds me of the saying, ''there is no such thing as bad publicity''.

    @@D3Sshooterbetter have a good tool that you can by used, than this low quality product. With this low quality product, you will do bad work, spend your time to repair it, ... That's unfortunate that they are sponsorised review that don't tell the truth on real product quality (or they send "special" good device to tester).

    Steve - Thanks for the follow up video and well done in your usual fashion. I just checked the Vevor site for this stud welder and there is nothing that says what size triac is used for the gun, only that is "800 watts" capacity. I know from watching other videos of Chinese manufactured electronic items, their power measurements are suspect and can be off by as much as 50% from stated to actual. Glad to see it is welding at capacity now, but this is the type of item I may decide to pay the extra money for a US or European manufactured gun, knowing there is far more likelihood the gun will work as stated.

    It would be interesting to see the power of the transformer in the short circuit test, then there would be no more doubts. The 80A triac only guarantees a higher peak in inrush current... but since the trigger is timed, it does not reflect the real power of the transformer, which is probably why they didn't put the heatsink on the component. As for me, this gadget is a cheap clone of a machine manufactured probably in US, Europe or Japan, for a change. good work with the car, it's always a pleasure to watch your videos, greetings from Portugal.

  • @D3Sshooter

    It does indeed only allow a short duration of switching power, which in this case is higher then with the 40A Triac. However IMO design days ( electronics) we always used heatsinks for any power mosfet... Pro-longed use might cause heat damage to the junctions and substrate. In each case, it works good enough for now. Thanks for the comments as always

    While I understand basic electrics, I know very little about semi-conductors etc. However, if an 80A triac is going to have any sort of useful duty cycle, surely the cables from the triac to the electrodes need to be much larger than what appears to be around 2.5 mm sq cables in this woeful machine. (possibly why they try to get away with a 40A triac) Also, I would be tempted to put an insulating sleeve on the central electrode to avoid shorting to the external electrode when pressed down. In fact a good thick sleeve might help to stabilise it a bit better.

  • @nabsp

    @nabsp

    2 ай бұрын

    calm down friend! the machine will not consume 80A, the triac will only allow a greater peak of current when you press the trigger, we are talking about microseconds (inrush current), it will not burn your 2.5mm cables! You get these peaks when you turn on your fridge or your water pump... however your cables are also thin!

    Wrap thicker wire around the toroid to thr business end he welder. Maybe add another wrap or two around the toroidal transformer , can also improve the performance. Allowing more current, more voltage , this will cause more current to flow, putting more energy in to the the weld, If it had 10 gauge wire wrapped around the transformer replace it with 8gauge, or if it has 6x 18gauge wires add 4 more 18 gauge wires. Identical length to the original. And possibly wrap another turn or two around the transformer. To gain a little voltage on the output. To help fight the be resistance. Push mire amperage (more power,) into the part! I would possibly go as far as doubling the wire size, and leave the wire between transformer and work contact as short as possible, to prevent as much losses as possible. What is the power ratings on this thing anyway? About 800-1000 watts? Have a awesome day🎉!...

    Not as easy as that, since the firmware will have been updated to provide extra power(longer duration), the triac has been upgraded to handle said extra power.

    if you see a tool on 4+ youtube channels in a short timeframe it's product placements. just getting the tool for free counts and a lot of channels will do nice with them especially if they are trying to get into the game of getting more free stuff, the way the game works is that if you crap on stuff the pr companies handling the placements will mark you as someone who doesn't play the game nice. this is also why some channels have the best ebike of the year every month, never talk about the ebikes legalities going over the power limits etc (and on channels which normally do no ebike reviews at all). more established channels tend to be more careful when accepting the deals. and to reiterate most of the time no money changes hands at that level and they'll say something like that they weren't paid for the review, it's their honest opinion etc standard text, but just getting the device makes it a product placement legally in eu and usa - even if it's just for a loan - but the real psychological trap for the channel owner is that if they 'blow it' when doing the review they will not get more '''free''' stuff. edit: the stuff might even be good of course. you couldn't know it from such reviews tho

    Anything made in China is subpar quality....they don't care about whether it arrives broken or not working....the sale is all they care about....sadly buyer loyalty is not their strength because of this.... they usually are barely a working device from factory.... depending on what it is i already decide if it is going to last long enough to pay for the cheap price.... did returning it ? or exchanging it ? be any options?? If i have to repair a new product it really has to be worth doing when New... otherwise i learned my lesson decades ago on that issue... cheap and built like a toy isn't something that will last long...lol You need to use it fully now...slidehammer the studs to see how much you can pound it...your thick sheetmetal will not move before they break.... 🇨🇦🤓🤟
