  • @mlorenzana71

    @mlorenzana71

    You have to take the orange top off and make sure that the plate is laying against the plate that you see. Sometimes they're separation between the actual heating plate inside underneath the cap. It should be right up against the other one so it's even heat. Otherwise you're going to get a cooler temperature. Very easy fix

    I just got one and am having problems with the Richardson 112 hats. When I put the patch in the center of the hat I am getting creases on both the right and left sides of the patch in the hat. Thats running the heat at 300 for 30 sec. If I run the heat or time any lower the patch does not bond all the way around the patch. Then I have to heat it again and the creases become worse. I have tried a microfiber towel under the hat and still have the same problem. So far I am not impressed. Do you have any suggestions on solving the creases in the hats when you put the patches in the center of a Richardson 112 hat? Matt, question for you. I see all of the patches you are doing in this vid are off to the side of the seam running down the center of the hat. Is this to avoid a "seam lump" down the center of the patch? How would a hat look if you did put the patch dead center, using this press? Would the seam imprint through the patch? I ask because I am on the verge of buying this press, and in my new business so far, people seem to want the patch centered.

    I just got mine and ran it same settings, looks great, but I do get a ",hard bend" above the patch, kind of where the pad ends, it looks like you get that as well a little. You said you use medium pad? Is that the one that came on it? @@laserengravingwithmatt

    Be careful with this heat press. I’ve had mine for a while now, and it suddently overheats without the thermometer showing, and many of them have uneven heating along the top platen. I tested with a heat thermometer gun, and thought I’d let you know.

    Thanks. I have been watching it but haven’t had any issues yet. For the amount of hats I’ve run through it. I am shocked. It’s still going.
