    What I can say is that it probably had a bad contact in the electrical part (basically tightening a screw on an electrical socket, it happened to me which activates the second stage of the compressor). Another tip is to use quality radiator fluid and never, ever cool it with water. I've had my china compressor for about 3 years and I change the oil (5w30 that I use in the car) every year religiously.

    Please do not use water to cool the compressor, it will create gum and oxidation where the water circulates. Unless you want to dismantle it every year to avoid heating problems. Use a coolant that we use in radiators and a quality one that says it is suitable for mixing metals such as aluminum.

    Yeah, it is designed to be used with water, but I did express my concerns in the video. My concern was due to very high content of limestone an other minerals in water that we have... A dedicated coolant liquid is certainly a better solution but it is even less practical that the water already is...

    @@gregorkamensek3923 Unfortunately, all the ones that broke down (out of warranty) were also made to be used with water. When you have a mixture of metals, especially aluminum, it creates a chemical reaction that creates gum and becomes lodged on the internal walls of the engines. All the videos I saw repairing units like these all had this gum and limestone lodged where the water circulates. Then the internal temperature of the engine starts to rise and they start using ice in the hope of keeping the temperature in check, but it will eventually die (it happened to my first one). These units are made to be disposable (cheap to buy again). I also bought the oil you used (5 liters) and used it once and went back to using the premium one I use in the car. I didn't like it, too much oil in the air filters. Now I've been using the same air filter for about 2 years and it's still clean. Before I had to change air filters regularly because they were saturated in oil. And I fill a 4-liter bottle from 200 Bar to 300. And the least practical thing is that it breaks down when we need it most... I'm poor and I need to buy a lot of lead to power the 3 PCPs I have and not buy a compressor every 2 years.😁

    It is a manual stop compressor (it is in the title), the compressor keeps filling until you stop it. It does have a safety valves in case you forget it running (which you should avoid doing!). Intended operating pressure is up to 300 bars or 4500PSI, but of course if you leave it on, it will go further but it is not recommended considering it is designed for operational pressure of 300 bars.

    Gregor... is there an idiot-proof compressor you can recommend for me? I have a company near me that can fill up tanks and I planned to get one or two 6.8L Tuxing carbon fibre bottles and get them filled when necessary. I won't be shooting hundreds of rounds per day. However, with what happened with the lockdowns I'm cautious about having my own air supplies (both electric and manual just in case the power goes down). So after looking at what's out there I liked the look of the Hill compressor but that's overkill for me & too pricey. I wasn't really keen on anything else so decided I will get the tanks, get them filled by the scuba diving company near me and if I'm unable to go there I will manually top up the tanks with a Hill hand pump every single time after filling my gun (so the tank pressure doesn't drop too low). Do you think this is a good solution.? Or can you recommend a top notch low maintenance compressor that won't be ridiculously expensive? Thanks

  • @gregorkamensek3923

    @gregorkamensek3923

    3 ай бұрын

    Hi. I may be a little late with this reply. I would not recommend topping up 6.8 liter scuba tanks with hand pump. Don't get me wrong, it is possible but you will get ripped :) You will put in significant time will not need to go to the fitness jim anymore. I wish there was an easy solution but when it comes to high pressure, there are not easy and certainly not maintenance and care free solutions. I assume you have GK1 pistol and that is why you want the high pressure at all time. With any other gun you can have the start pressure lower and still get high shot count (you can do it with GK1 as well but not at high powers). Until I had this compressor, I just used what was in the botte at the range and afterwards, I topped up the pistol with hand pump if I really wanted the full magazine and max power. Now I use this compressor for this.

    @@gregorkamensek3923 Thanks for the response. For the 6.8l bottle I’m talking about hand pumping it every single time after i take air out of it. So the process is: Initially I get the tank filled up at the scuba shop. Then I take it home and fill up the bottle on my PCP. Say I use 300cc. Then i immediately hand pump 300cc back into the 6.8l tank. Do you think this is feasible or will pumping 300cc still be way too difficult???

  • @gregorkamensek3923

    @gregorkamensek3923

    3 ай бұрын

    @@inspector-tech It will be more difficult that if you just pump your PCP airgun (300cc) directly because with the PCP, you will start a lower pressure and have the really heavy pumping only at the end, were with the bottle, you will have heavy pumping through the whole pumping session. Also, this procedure that you explain requires more gear and expenses and does not bring any significant benefit. I think that if you use scuba tank, you just use what you have any simply change your PCP to whatever is in the scuba tank and refill the tank at scuba shop when you have a chance. And if you intend to use the pump, there is no need to have a scuba tank as well. To be clear, this is just my recommendation, what you proposed will work as well.

    @Gregor Kamensek you can fill guns/bottles up to 350 Bar with no Problem. And 6.8l or 9l bottle as well. A 6.8l bottle takes from 0-300 Bar estimated 1h. In 2x 30 min runs you can do this with 15 min break. And topping of a 6.8l from 250-300bar estimated 12-15 min. I use this compressors a lot. But the original water/oil filter is way to small for bottles. Even for guns it is not good. Its filtration is not high enough. And the oil they advertise in the manual vg46 is wrong oil. The correct oil for piston compressors is vg100. Vg46 is to thinn, trust me. VG46 is for screw compressors.

    @@gregorkamensek3923 You're right, no PCP compressor officially states 350 bar. But all 300 bar PCP compressors on the market today can do 350 bar. How else are you going to fill your weapons up to 350 bar if you stick to 300 bar? I have exactly the same compressor in a different color and brand and the manufacturer says it can handle up to 40mpa/400 bar in the manual. The lines are designed for up to 600 bar. The only thing I would be careful with is the filter. I wouldn't use it up to 400 bar. I don't trust it. I wouldn't go over 350 bar with the filter. I pumped the compressor up to 370 bar 10 times in a row just to test it and it was no problem. There are filters on Amazon, eBay and Ali which, according to the manufacturer, can handle 40mpa/400 bar. You'll have to search a bit.

    it doesn't look much different from Tuxing and Yonghang by design same oil block same head block even the cooling pipes are the same. And all of them suffer when you try fill 6L or 10 L large bottles they work for 3-4 fills and then magically stop filling and stay at 200bar or 250 bar and doesn't want to continue further to 300 bar even when there is no leak first time fixed my tuxing with new piston rings and new head gasket and new large piston rings it worked for another 5 fills and then completely fail with no leaks it just stops at 270 bar in the compressor and no air going inside the bottle. So in my opinion only large compressors would do the job filling your air tanks reliably like Hill EC 300 evo however is rated only up to 7L bottles or the double piston/cylinder tuxing compressors they are rated up to 6.8L however terrible customer service with tuxing. And no other options are left to choose from apart from super expensive Daystate large quite compressor which is something like 3500$-4000$ for 1 compressor. Don't know how is possible no European company to not tried making 300 bar affordable compressors

  • @gregorkamensek3923

    @gregorkamensek3923

    Yeah, as I mentioned in the video, this compressor is meant to be used for filling PCP rifles directly and not bottles. It is even written in the manual that you should not fill bottles bigger than 3 litres. For filling bottles, I use Coltri compressor (that is the same compressor that Daystate also sale under their brand name and jack up the price :)). There is a reason why those compressors are so expensive. The one way I see the price might come down is if more people starts buying them and there is more competition, but you cannot compare the sales of those with workshop compressors nor can you compare the construction, materials,... that go into them.
