@@MillisConstruction Glad they got there safe , one thing not shown in the pic , the components are basically modular , makes the pouch flexible when sitting , worn stuff is easily swapped , if I want to carry smaller or larger stuff , swaps are easier , the main pouch has a leather divider , with bike inner tube riveted to it , helps tools stay in place as tools gall on the rubber , I have tried magnets , but filings became an issue . The small parts pouch ( little square thing ) has a rare earth magnet on it’s flap ( screw parking ).

You are not only an enabler , but also an inspirer ! You have got me going down a rabbit hole for a 90 % PB Swiss / 1/4” hex magnetic system ( 90% indicates the percentage of problems it will solve in EDC , Maintenance , and installations ) . It can trade ammo with drill drivers , installation drivers and and impacts . Reach : 1” with basic 1/4” hex bits , 2” with 2” impact , and 2” terminal [ 1/8” flat , #1 Phillips , and Robertson ( both # 1 & 2 ) , and up to 6” with the aid of a 6” Milwaukee impact rated extension . The extension has a reach of 8” when used in conjunction with 2” impact bits . And the whole issue is run of a top notch ratcheting system ( PBSwiss to be specific ) ! The rig is cool looking as Chit , and is intended to be worn Crossdraw ( left front hip , with tool holster being on the right hip .

I carry the TP-XL as a diagnostics bag. I carry the bare minimum tools needed. Really a bare bones setup. I was tired of carrying the big tool bag everywhere, only to use half the tools on rare occasion. Picked up some tools that serve multiple roles like the Klein needle nose with wire strippers and a crimped all in one. It’s not a tool I would use for a major wiring job but to get you by on a service/diagnostics call is perfect. You would be amazed at how many of the tools you could do without 98% of the time. I still keep a fully loaded backpack but only take it out a couple times a year. Lighter is faster and more efficient. Keeps you in a better mood as well.

Love the Pica pencils. It’s the only writing utensil I’ve never lost. Having the clip helps me put it back into its holder after use. And spending $15 for one definitely ensures I keep track of it.

I carry a Lamy 3 mm mechanical pencil , it fits Hultfors , and Pica refills , but fits comfortably in a shirt pocket , the thang is short ! I now wear it all the time , both work and play !

The Knipex cobras and the pliers/wrench are absolutely phenomenal!!

Got my TP-XXL 2 weeks ago & it has quickly became my main bag over my OT-XL for apartment maintenance. Good job on the load out.

Very thorough walk-through! I love all of your videos and great enthusiasm! I got a few new tips and tricks for my own set of tools. The back is unfortunately not available right now, but I'll be happy to buy one as soon as possible! Grettings from Germany!

Just received mine few days ago and it fits everything and still remains light enough where it isn't too much on your body.

You have inspired me to loose weight ! I was in Hammer Hell ! I used to Schlep an Easteing Ball pien , a Stilletto Mini 14 claw , and a 6 oz Crosspien . With the purchase of the Knipex 51 01 210 Carpenter’s pincers ( pincers with a strike face ) . I now only carry the 6 oz Crosspien , and Knipex pincers ! The pincers can outperform any claw hammer at clean nail pulling . Anything I can’t pull , I can cut off and set ! The small Crosspien will do neat nailing , the strike face on the pincers will do “ meat and potatoes “ nailing . One hell of weight / bulk saving !

Millis, I've been down the rabbit hole of your channel for the last few days. Just want to thank you for being so helpful. Keep up the great vids.

I’m having good luck with my 90% driver system . It consists basically of PB magazine ratcheting drive ( like yours , only the short version ) , a Milwaukee 6” bit extension , a couple of Klein terminal drivers , 8, 2” impact bits , Malco bits , and half a dozen security bits . I wear it crossdraw position . This enables be to make a smaller , ergo lighter and simpler right hip pouch ( two actually , one for standard , and one for 1KV rated Knipex . I’m almost happy with the layout !

Mine Arrived today , been re studying a few good load outs I’ve seen ( yours being among the best ) . I work a multi tier system , the mothership is a Milwaukee Packout stack , the “ walk-in bag is now the TPXXL , ( was a Tech Pack ) , the Walking around bag , is yet to be determined , then there is my belt holster , ( Custom ) , and a couple of small subsidiary pouches , Ie: (baby 125mm Plierwrench/ Cobra/ Stilletto Ti prybar )

Everybody loves a load out Video! So true.

Mine is still undergoing evolution ! I’ve hung a Veto CP4 pouch on the strap “ D” ring . It holds odd stuff , and a couple of zippered parts bags . I . I modified the strap a tad , I took of the stock clips , and replaced them with Stainless , screw gate beiners . They are stronger than the cast clips .

Great review and walk through I'm ordering this to replace my tech Xl, as that's a bit bulky to carry around. Looks like there will be plenty of room., and I got the TP LC free with it

I bought their XXL that's 2.5 feet long and its my first Vito bag. Its so heavy it throws off my balance lol. It was imbarresingly expensive but I'd bet my son or nephew will inherit it.

Just a heads up on a pocket friendly product : like you I like good shears . I own two Knipex shears , sadly I’ve had to rig Paracord safety tethers to prevent loss , they are hard to find and expensive ! Enter the Wiss W5T . They aren’t voltage rated , they have a typical cable shear layout , plus a 22, and 24 AWG stripping notches ! Good for low voltage / phone / data wires ! They also have a steel grabber ( for nuts etc) between the handles . Price in the Con. US should be about $20-25 bucks . It has a very pronounced pivot bolt . I rigged a pouch with 3/8” eyelet , and a bit of shock , makes for a locking system . The handles aren’t as comfortable as the Knipex , but cut well , and are cheap !

My daily pouch loadout as an commercial electrician includes 2 pairs of Knipex Alligator Pump pliers (10" (250mm) and 7.25" (180mm)), Knipex Cobras (10" (250mm)), Knipex Linesman, Knipex Dikes, Knipex Forged Wire Stripper and a pair of the 7.25" (180mm) Pliers Wrench...That came in a set with the 10" (250mm) Pliers wrench....But, I use the smaller one daily bc for it's size, it can open twice as large as the same size adjustable wrench (which have all been replaced and just used as back up now)...Knipex is the way, I have tried MANY MANY hand tools, I will NOT BUY anything but....Even Klein has let me down (even in screw/nut drivers which I prefer Wiha or Wera)....German tools, the way to go!

Good call on Baby Surge ! Like an impact with a suppressor ! What does your set up weigh ? When I get mine , it will be operating in conjunction with a Packout system . Personally , I prefer Comfort grip , when you slide large rubber washers down the handles , you get not quite legal , VDE handles ! Your system is very well thought out ! Reflects long experience !

Honestly the one thing I took away from this video is the door chalk as electrician 13 years working in Florida Brilliant!!!

I’m carrying the Fat Ivan tools now also at a subscribers recommendation and they’re great for all the commercial doors and things too, they work on the hinges so depending on where you work and what doors are like there, one or the other should work very well! I’m glad you enjoyed it! Great having you here 😁

I took a different tack on hammers , I’m using a pair of Knipex Carpenters Pincers ( they pull/ cut nails ) , and have a flat strike face . I also use an 8 oz Eastwing ballpein , for metal whacking . I made a leather protector for the head ( it hangs on the big “ D” ring ) , so as to avoid scratching type damage . If I was playing at clued up woodwork games , I’d use my Stilletto Mini 14 ( also, to be hung off “ D” . I really wish someone would come up with a folding jab saw that would take take “ T” shank Jigsaw blades ! I only found one once ( made in Switzerland ) I might shake loose and buy one !

Oh man. My perfect bag would have been the height of the TP-XL, with the meter pockets on both sides and the width somewhere between the TP-XL and the MB2. If only I could get a Velocity Rouge 2.0 here in the states 🙁

Just a Tip / observation , the smallest of the Veto parts bags ( 5 and change X 9” ish .) fits real good in the pull out ( Elephant ear ) pockets on Euro style work pants . Save a washing machine !

One couple of gadjets you might want to include in your TPXXL are the Whia 26 in 1 driver ( uses double ended Whia bits[ available in several assortments , including Security bits etc . ) , also the Whia 14 in 1 Stubby . They probably shouldn’t be your main show , but can get you outta a lot of jams ! I often carry the 14 in 1 as an Off Duty/ EDC setup !

Nice load out-you need that bag strap. Trust me I’m bout to order me that same bag cause my veto Florescent yellow (whatever) bag weighs at least 100plus #’s. I realize I need several bags. Good video again-I need a sticker-you moving up!!!

Hey man I am really digging your videos while trying to figure out best tools and bags for mobile rv repair. I'm curious what you think of the Klein CL8100 or the fluke you showed. Which is superior to you and why, I would really appreciate the advice!

Great load-out video. Thanks for the links to the tools. I am waiting to get a TP-XXL, just to have basic tools to carry around. All my other tools are Klein, Channel Lock etc. I think I will go with Knipex and WERA for a new TP-XXL. What do you think of Fluke hand tools? Looks like Knipex may make them?

I haven’t gotten into the Fluke hand tools, its very hard to beat Knipex, Wera and ones like that. Ive seen them but I just love the way Wera and Knipex have worked for me for a long time. Klein is a solid tool for the most part, just research which ones aren’t before you invest. Especially meters etc, Fluke is top of the heap on those. ChannelLock is great, Knipex beats them on a lot of things for functionality and ease of use but they are a solid tool at a lot easier price point for sure and made in USA is always great!

Thanks for great loadout! Do you know if the fluke T6 fits nicely in the meter pocket?

In tight spots ore if I screw out in a row the mal wera ratchet is great. as I swing it beteen my fingers.

I like the fluke outlet tester with digital voltage readout.

Just a general tooling question , How many of you Hi Speed low drag maintenance types carry a plier based Multitool on your belts . I schlep a Victorinox Spirit X ( compact , powerful , and elegant ! )

We must be related , we have reached many of the same conclusions ! I too don’t like to be totally dependant on rechargeable lights . I always have a few that can use fresh primary cells , be they AA , AAA , and CR123 . I have a Surefire Saint Minimus ( headlamp ) , which can run on CR123’s and AA’s .

I bought it about three years ago , passed my CR123 Saint on to a former helper . The ability to use AAA’s is a huge plus ! AAA, and AA are available just about anywhere on the planet , lithium cells have a 10 year shelf life , what’s not to like . My belt light is either a Surefire or HDS in 1x cr123 . My penlight is a Peak LED solutions 2xAAA , with a very simple switch , either twisty , or push on momentary . I’ve found that over the counter penlights , all too often have crappy switches . ( I’ve had some nasty light failures , in both attics and crawl spaces !

Just got the missing piece for my soon to be TPXXL , a brand spanking new IPad Pro Mini ( with Apple Pencil ) . Ready to kick ass ! For Microsoft only Chit I have a vintage Explore Tablet , no for EDC use !

Awesome!!!! The iPad Pro is absolutely great. I do everything from jobsite bids to all the editing and work on this channel on my 12.9” iPad Pro, magic keyboard and pencil. So much productivity! I have the 1 TB version so I added a 2 TB sandisk extreme pro sdd to it and now I have plenty video room 😁

I purchased my first Wera tool, the Ratcheting Screwdriver that you featured on your channel. The tool is high quality and works great, but the thickness of the handle is a little small for me. I have a large hand the handle seems a little small. Do the handles come in different sizes? Love the channel and very informative!

I’m not sure on that one coming larger, the Turbo version has a bit larger handle but it’s a more niche tool. I’ll have to look into that.

That is a lot of nice tools, however when I think of me using a soft sided tool bag as opposed to my hard sided tool case, I want it to be light and nimble. This thing is too bulky and heavy to haul around with all that weight in it. I also agree with you about the tape loop on the flap. That is a recipe for denting customers door jambs or their floors when your tape gets ripped loose by the jamb and falls on a soft wood floor or whatever.

Would be great if you could mount it on the half packout systainer from milwakee.

Do you think you could fit the M18 Surge? I currently only have M18 stuff and wouldn't really want to have to carry another set of batteries. I recently discovered this channel and have watched the majority of your videos! Love it!

@@MillisConstruction Oops, 376 FC , might get the final nod sometimes very handy to have both AC and DC current capability .

I work in a dirty environment. My open top Klein bag is going to have to go. I'm looking into this brand. I'd like to find one that zips up or closes somehow but is quick and easy to access. 8-9 various pliers and cutters, 4-5 screwdrivers, small socket rail, volt meter, 2 sets Allen wrenches is roughly my quick carry arsenal. Any insight would be appreciated

What do you do in re: drill bits ? The 1/4” hex shanked paddle bits , and twist bits will work of either my Milwaukee installation drill/ driver , or my M12 Surge ( both have leather holsters , I hang off one of the external “ D” rings . It’s a toss up , which I carry on any given day .

I’ve been doing mostly 1/4” hex shanked bits both for metal and wood bits as I really like to just use my little M12 surge the most also. All my normal smooth shanked drill bits live in the DR LC drill bag with the PDC drill and accessories for it. Seems to work out pretty well. I think the 1/4” shank ones I’m running are dewalt right now.

@@MillisConstruction Good system , I’m debating relegating the Installation driver drill to the Packout stack . I’m somewhat paranoid about not having 90 degree angle drilling capability in my main bag ! I suspect you’ve probably got it right ! I’m also thinking of adding a Veto Tech Pack “ Wheeler” to the mix , when I don’t need the Packout . That gives me a roll in bag , and a “ walking around “ bag . I’m getting spoiled , used to work out of a Platt briefcase kit , for just about everything ( at least service call wise ) .

Am I the only electrician to carry a strap wrench instead a regular Channel Locks ? Everytime I need to tight down a teck connector I use my strap wrench. It's faster, doesn't score the connector and it's good for any size of connectors. I still carry my channys but barely use them, unless I doing rigid conduit.

Mine’s due in early august ! Can’t wait !

@@MillisConstruction Na , it will be superseding my Tech. Pack . We have something in common , very wide ranging tasks . I get off on Variety , and being in my 70th year , I can do heavy UggaDugga , but I tend to avoid it ! I generally schlep two Meters , one a clamp , the other will be either a Fluke 87 5 , or more commonly a Fluke 117 . Renundantcy is important . For shooting Grounds ( water related / ice/ salty melt water/ semi melted slush , etc . , I use a venerable Triplett 310 C ) . I would like to see you do a thread on truly Game Changer tools ! Good ideas are rare , I steal them , but always attribute them !

I drifted into the skilled trades from a Law Enforcement background ( I ‘m now a much happier camper ) , so I had a lot of experience with good and bad belt setups . I despise the one size fits nothing , North American style “ Belt Buckets “ , useless as lactating glands on male cattle , if you have to crawl , go prone , move in confined spaces .

We almost have the same tools ! Same bag same everything. My man as some taste

I’ve noticed you aren’t very strong on multibit stubby drivers , I always schlep at least two , one on the belt , + one in the bag . They have got me out of a boatload of jams ! The Whia 14 in 1 magazine stubby is a powerful little dude , even off duty I alternate between a PB Swiss mag. Stubby , and the little Whia . Got me out of a pile of jams , both on and off duty !

It is definitely heavier than my TP XL since it has the meters and all added on. These bags are kind of a rabbit hole of easy to continually overload. I need to weigh it one day

Great bag the problem is little bit heavy and the shoulder strap little bit longer for shorter person even you adjust

Any one know if the meter pouches can hold a fluke 87v? I really want one of these bags, to retire my over stuffed mb 1

The pouches are pretty big ( tall wise ) . I suspect yes ( I have one on order and own an 87 5 ) . Call or Email Veto , they can probably tell you . fWIW , they can fit some of the “ taller “ feildpiece clamp meters , so I suspect you will be Golden !

I used the pliers wrenches and wasn’t a fan didn’t like how long it took to adjust the settings to quick setting I went to a standard Bahco adjustable

The bonding terminal in the disconnects we use are square drive,plus you never know what random ass stuff you're gonna run across in the field

Please please switch to Wago connectors and retire the wire nuts. They look like stone age when seen from Germany 😉 And you will save a ton of space.

@UC6MzZKZJ5HxcbgT1xA_MEWQActually I as a end user get them for 13cent a piece with VAT etc. so we don't even think about using anything else . And if someone screwed up a circuit or if you have to change it you can get the wires out without any damage at all and change the installation without twisted wires. I changed the 1960 installation in my parents house twenty years ago when we rennovated the place. No one in Germany uses anything else and you get them in any home improvement shop.

I actually don’t like pliers wrenches. I used to have a pair in my tool bag at work but got rid of them after a few months. They are awful in tight spaces imo vs an adjustable. I just think a good adjustable is better, and a few guys I work with have them and never use them. I wanted to like them.

Which glove clips are you using?

Certainly can. I think it sits better than the TP XL but it will tip if you knock it over
