Idk, the magwell, the barrel shroud, the charging handle opposite the ejection port. It looks like it has more in common with the FN FAL. Can’t know for sure without seeing a cutout of the gas system and bolt carrier, but I don’t think Fat Shark is going to give us one of those

@@11jerans of course the individual bits are different, but you can't deny that there were both a FAL and an AK on the reference board of whomever modeled that gun and that they went for a "what if you stuck the form factor of an AK's front end onto a gun from the glorious Imperial School of firearm design?" xD (which, actually, if memory serves me well, has been an actual gun on actual Warhammer miniatures at some point. I can't remember whether it was the old Necromunda edition or something from the auxiliaries in the Imperial Guard, but I'm pretty sure it's not original work by Fat Shark)

I've had more luck with Bolter and Powersword for carrying but the braced autogun is fun enough that I like to keep one on hand for when I feel like doing something different.

@@Folly_Inds the bolter is legit. Despite the low ammo count, just clearing through waves of horde and elites is incredibly satisfying. Also the sound the bolter makes is music to my ears

Braced autoguns are super fun but can get kinda bad at higher difficulties when you NEED to snipe specialists from range

The CBA is a monster of a ranged weapon. I've never seen one weapon cover every Marksman's niche like it does. I didn't see you struggle with snipers, specials, elites & hordes from really any range they made you fight in. Good match, great instincts & amazing group cohesion 😎👍

Sometimes you just have the extra ammo.

I was planning on playing Ogryn but I just love the regular guns too much. Ended up going from ogryn to zealot and now found my niche with vet. I do hope that when the game does come out with new classes they add a Veteran Officer or something like that. Buff allies, that sort of thing.

The melee block push, dodge back on the pox bomber... awesome. Thanks for teaching me that trick!

What? Sharpshooter’s probably the worst of the bunch, offering nothing unique other than more ammo, 15% more headshot damage and plasma guns at level fkn 26. Or you could play psyker and never worry about elite enemies, or ogryn and never die, haven’t played zealot but i’m sure the thunder hammer makes up for any faults with his class.

@@thebigenchilada678 I dunno, I've heard lvl 30 sharpshooters can deal with like 4 ogryn enemies within one special. My psyker is lvl 10 and I'm hoping it gets better when I get more traits. My main is lvl 30 zealot and flamethrower just destroys everything.

@@Guanjyn well level 30 anything’s good, my main’s a sharpshooter but his main shtick is using guns that almost every class can use ‘cept slightly better. Not a bad class but relative to the others i’d say he’s the weakest.

Veteran gets more toughness than the zealot. Combine that with the power sword and you're a beast in melee

I think it's just V2 instincts. He gets more side dodge distance with the knife. And it's good practice to block when you are dodging anyway. But the only weapon that blocks range weapons is ogryns slab shield

1 handed melee weapons i think has a mobility stat on them, the higher the mobility bar the longer the dodge.

the point shooting & built-in spread definitely helps with target tracking in close range. But I feel like I would not trade it with being able to ADS for longer precision headshots.

So that's how u handle bursters, okay.

Still no answer, I’ve never noticed a different in Vermintide. Does blocking reduce ranged damage against you? Or is it just instinctual for players to block?

only the ogryn shield blocks ranged damage from what I understand. holding block up is probably just instinctual/also in case you're being swung at from an angle you can't see

@@PapaRunebeard All the finesse stat does is control how much extra damage you do on headshots, crits, and crit headshots. More finesse = more damage when you hit the head or crit.

1. Ogryn Shield does in fact block all ranged damage from the front, as long as you have stamina, or infinitely if you use its special (which also makes you immobile). 2. A force sword for the psyker with the Deflector perk will also block ranged damage as long as stamina lasts. 3. The reason he is pulling out his knife is for the dramatically increased dodge it gives him. Blocking just prevents some random mob shanking him while he moves, because you have to dodge away from the direction you are facing, at least by 90 degrees, so you can't exactly look where you are going.

@@spamhere1123 I mean, I know how Vermintide and by association this game generally, works. I was just curious because he’ll just dodge while blocking. I don’t know what this games weapon traits are or how they handle blocking arcs in Darktide, but I’ve never known of any reason to block while dodging with a non range blocking weapon, other than instinct and being preemptive. Unless they finally added forward dodging.

They are. This is a braced autogun not an infantry autogun. The braced has more ammo but doesn't ADS and is more like the heavy stubber or autopistol

@@mr.selfdestruct8023 Aiming with this autogun pattern actually locks it into a hipfire with minimal vertical and slight horizontal spread. Any time you see the " " on the screen, they're aiming. Basically lets you dump an entire magazine accurately, which is very good with the 50% ranged damage boost .

does melee block actually block range atk? or lower it?

No, unless you are a psyker and happen to have a force sword with the deflector perk, which does block ranged. The reason he's pulling out his dagger and blocking is because it gives him a dramatically improved dodge, and dodging is very good against shooters.

I wish I could add a scope onto the Lucius Hellbore lasgun. I might actually use it then. It's borderline unusable with its current garbage iron sights.

I think the only thing I can complain about darktide is how you always mess with your gun when you switch to it...that's honestly the only thing I want removed

It's a balancing feature. Otherwise certain weapons would be objectively better in every situation and the game would get stale. It's a necessary sacrifice.

Yeah I agree. I use the bolter and having to cock it back again every time when I switch to melee is pretty annoying

This gun is the only S tier weapon. The Auto recon las rifles (low A tier), and every other weapon on the sharpshooter is pretty much trash. Especially the laz rifles. Why would I even pick it up when it has so much sway under fire and I can do what it does (and more AND BETTER) with the bracegun or the headhunter variant. It gets worse when you use the hellbore when the smoke from the rifle blocks what you are aiming at. Don't even get my started on the draw speed of the weapon. Laz rifles and revolver need some love.

Kantrael MG XII is one of the best Veteran choices you can make. Also, you completely left out the bolter, which is stupid good.

I dunno, with so many weapons to choose from, this rifle in my hands, feels under whelming. You have to spend a LOT of time standing still and holding on one target. My 3 cents.

Waaay too many hot-shot laser enemies in this game, IMO. Lorewise it should not be that many.
