Great initial review. The new format and B roll (gimbal) is great! The Patton looks promising, Im shocked by the range. Few bugs to workout but Im sure it will hold its golden place in the lineup. Its Awesome we're getting different platforms to suit different types of riding. Im about to upgrade from my S18 and was really between this an the Sherman S. While my heart says Patton for daring offroad shenanigans and jumps, my aging brain says Sherman S for a stable, long distance street cruiser. Thanks for providing us with this content, its great we have such representation in the community

I have a Sherman S and it's been fantastic, but the one thing I wish it had was progressive tiltback. My V11 has that and it comes in handy very often when you can't necessarily hear the beeps, plus it's nice to have a tactile feedback vs auditory. I hope they can bring it to the Sherman S in an update.

That's some insane pedal tilting around 0:40. This wheel is truly an amazing wheel. We are approaching a time where the motor/controller are not the limits - but the rider & tire are limitations for grip. I loved your story intro. The wheel can accelerate and brake SUPER hard.

Good "first impression" video. Everything important covered. The usual review is good for a later point - after 1000 km, having changed a tire, seeing some issues and having various range tests and terrain experiences.
Yes!!!! Been waiting on this video to come out. I already ordered my Veteran Patton weeks ago and this video just makes me feel even better about ordering it. Wooow super danke für das Video lieber Adam... nach den Worten is es klar... ich brauch auch ein Patton... s22 pro schön und gut aber Patton is halt next level wie es scheint und deckt alles ab was ich von so nem EUC erwarte... 62lbs should be fine for a 60kg rider I hope... all the best... ride hard stay safe und klarerweise I will stay tuned for the full review gruuuuzzzz... und Kameraführung wie immer outstanding 🎉🎉❤
Love the speed advice @ 8:52. This video and others just makes me want to get this as my secondary wheel and sell my OG Sherman even though I have a Sherman-s.
AWESOME I was waiting for this!
LK said PWM tiltback not possible on the Sherman S (or previous models) due to eeprom storage too small won't fit, maybe if Sherman S gets updated motherboard in the future otherwise we won't see PWM tiltback there.
I’ve been thinking about it. Maybe, probably, I don’t know if I should get it yet. Still checking out other wheels like the Payton’s bigger brother the Sherman S.

Hi asking for some advice! I'm a 130 lb person and I mainly ride on streets. I preordered this wheel with 58 lb [Reccommended for
Looks like a great wheel. I'm just learning EUC's so I may consider either this one or the Veteran Sherman Max next year. We will see. I like that this wheel is smaller and more nimble.
It's seems to be perfect for european riders/condition, Thx for this fresh review 😊
Can’t wait for my pre-order, think it’ll be July 😅 Would be awesome if the indicator function on the rear lights could be turned off
Thank you for the review Adam. Very helpful! As strictly a jump wheel, what do you pick Patton on S22?
That intro had me hyped! lol
I liked this video a lot. Nice footage and breakdown. That rabge was slightly more that I expected...How much do you weigh woth gear on? I would be interested to see your thoughts on the trolley handle in the full review, as I use the handle on my V12 HT almost every day.
This is by the sounds of it the sweet spot. The 50mile range is perfect for me where my S22 like you said can just go over the 40miles. The only thing is that I think about is the shorter travel compared to the S22 and the weatherproofing as my S22's bearings are now busted from on UK 10 mile ride home from work. I also do like the look of this wheel.
can't wait till some V14 and S19 comparison with Patton will be out!
Great video! Adam, have you heard anything about a solution for seated riding, which this seems to lack over the Sherman-S? It has a nice flat area for it so I am sure it's only a matter of time!
Hi great vid and cograts on the gimbal Would you recommend this as a starter wheel?
Thanks again Adam
Bottoming out seems to be an issue, even with 66lbs spring, hopefully vetaran make a stiffer spring or a progressive one that really cranks up the rate closer to the end of travel
In other sports, like paragliding, it's everyone's dream to be paid for doing what you love most. If that's the deal that myewheel is offering you then I think you have something real good going on. Congratulations!

@@mr_wrongway For the last month I was on the fence between these two wheels as well. I finally decided on the Patton but I know a lot of people are trying to make this very decision for themselves right now. I bet that vid would do good numbers.
Finally, a wheel worthy of replacing my Nikola AR. Put in my preorder on Saturday.
Thanks Adam. Do you think this will be better than the Begode Extreme?
This is a wheel I anticipate for certain, although I already trail ride a s22. The Patton would for sure fill that void. It's wide like the s22, I really like that imo it feels more of a natural stance.
Would it be difficult to start as a newbie on this wheel? Looks good..
What do you think about the waterproofing?
I can't wait until I get to try it
It would be cool if you could make a video of your very first times riding euc's !
I'd be real curious to see if Linear Labs would be up for developing a HET Motor to power these beasts - higher torque, lower energy requirements than conventional motors based on testing info.
You really make it look intriguing. How much can the suspension do with a heavy rider?
Feeling a bit less anxiety over being dumb enough to pre order one of these now. If you're comfortable sharing, about how much do you weigh? MyEWheel recommended the 58lbs suspension for riders under 80kg when I ordered mine (I weigh ~60kg) which seemed logical at the time but it seems like everyone says to get the harder suspensions. Granted the biggest jumps I'll do is probably down the curb but I'm just wondering if you have any additional insights on the topic.
EUC are not for jumping ...for now. If they keep iterating on suspensions, I'm sure with a couple of accelerometers you can write software to detect jumps reliably and prepare the wheel for landing at weird angles in some special kind of supersoft mode.
@kilobak2297
Жыл бұрын
Yeah, that sounds reasonable. Just couple of capacitors charged up to handle the landing. But the MOSFETs are also big (and expensive) issue I guess.
@submijiru
Жыл бұрын
@@kilobak2297 I don't jump, but I believe the big problem is, that we demand too much torque in the time it takes for a human to initiate a reaction. I think we instinctively shift our center of weight behind the wheel, not because falling is scary and we want to decelerate, but because we've already developed neural pathways for falling and forward motion in our childhood that skew our perceptions and what we assume is level, which is usually perpendicular to gravitational forces. In other words, we naturally position ourself against a imaginary level surface to optimally absorb the drop. This has a rear bias. The result is that this can affect wheel input significantly, and we demand way more torque than we need, or want, and in the wrong direction. (And from watching people jump, land, and lose balance and fall, it looks like they're going to slow too fast, making lateral control impossible, twist the wheel, and topple over.) These effects can be lessened by adjust to a more positive tilt, making the immediate landing forces on the wheel closer neutral, keeping it going forward and maintaining more speed and demanding less immediate opposite torque. And once you land it can progressively return to initial wheel tilt. This has the added benefit that if a rider tenses up and maintains posture, the wheel applies progressive braking input, and he/she only needs to compensate for lateral forces. It'll just feel like the wheel is reacting super soft initially. And it only needs to do this for a fraction of a second, for maybe a meter of travel. Because a catastrophic landing is chain of events.
@submijiru

@@kilobak2297 Capacitors are so 2023. EUC need only a marginal amount of capacitance, and as production ramps I expect in a couple years BIM for a 126V supercapacitor bank would be cheaper than an extra pack of Molicels to give use that sweet burst and regenerative braking. Still extra weight though.
This wheel has a pretty good top speed but is smaller of course - how is the stability at high speed compared to something larger and heavier like the sherman or sherman S? Is it reasonable to cruise around at 60+ or is it just too unstable?

A bit confised thid wheel has similar size with v11 or with nikola?18 or 16inch
Is there a video on how to turn off the patton tlit back mode?
Which suspension would be best for me 62 or 66 lbs? My weight is 72 kg. (And I would use it mostly in the city.)
how can you clean the inside that is hidden by the suspension?
I like this wheel, but I dont see how is it better then the Sherman S for everyday use. SS has better top speed ( though you wont use it because safety concern for me) Better battery, better suspension, better tire size.... The only thing I like is the 126V design and the size.... Which has its disadvantage at the same time.
Glad you're happy with the Patton..I'm personally waiting for my Begode Extreme order instead for this class of euc..I personally prefer to have the extra/ optimum power/ torque (134v/c40 motor) and greater headroom before cutting out/ over torquing (making it safer in this respect), smart bms, 130mm travel suspension and the wider (3" wide) more stable/ more durable rim... will complement my ex30 perfectly as my technical trails/shorter rides wheel, that is optimally agile
Which weight springs did the reviewed wheel have and what was the geared up rider weight?

My Patton just came in and have it all set up. I weigh 175 to 180 lbs all in and got the 66lb suspension. Feels like when I step on the wheel I barely feel a drop in the suspension, and not a lot of travel when going over bumps. Anybody else the same weight and on the 66lb. Wondering about changing it out for the 62 lb if that might make it a little more cushy.
its know my 3rd sommer upcomming, riding V11 road city and MTB trails, i think this is the only contender to V11, its just never failed on me, one downside, kind of expensive to ride in the forrest.
Nylonove pads big or normal? As for tire Imotion 12 HT tire would fit and gives more niblness. Nylonove pedals for Patton have not good shape, and not long enough as e-rides pedals

11:20: What are "usual" power modes? I know of High Speed Mode and Normal Speed Mode. How does the range compare between those 2 modes? Ie. High mode got you: x miles, normal mode got you: x miles. What's "Low Power Mode"? You said not to use low power mode because it's bad for your battery, how so? I'm an experienced dirt bike and wheel rider at 95kg-102kg (210lbs no gear---225lbs gear) and deciding whether Sherman S or Patton is the ticket. Both super capable, but I'm more concerned with suspension springs not rated heavy enough for me at my weight, with jumps, over long term. Sherman S seems smoother and more suited for my weight, intuitively, but if the Patton also feels smooth and poppy and won't bottom out on jumps and stairs, then I prefer the Patton. I'll most likely end up with both, but the Sherman S is probably better suited for my overall riding comfort. Which wheel has the smoothest, buttery-iest, softest suspension that will keep my back, knees, and hips not feeling it? Seems Sherman S is the couch king currently
