This feels like one of the few songs where Vessel is certain. No self doubt, no questioning, no fear of himself. Just a head first desperation into what he wants. I love this song. It doesn't feel like a love song but it reads like a love song.

I love how the song starts like a love song, but the second half the tone change, even though its very similar to the start, almost bring a more sinister feel, like its gone from a love song, to one of possession

“Did you not say we were made for each other?” This song is currently my favourite on the album.

I cried the first time I saw them live and they played this song. It’s one thing to listen to it. It’s a whole other thing to FEEL it in your bones. And he’s so good at doing that live and II, III, and IV all bring it every time. This is and will always be one of my favorites (as hard as it is to pick sometimes) from them.

“This place will become your tomb” is a reference to the relationship, it is something that is bad for him and may eventually kill Vessel. Even though he knows and understands this he still can’t seem to leave and keeps getting pulled in further which I think is the theme of the album art work of him slowly sinking deeper and drowning.

I interpret the raised arms of the man on the cover sinking deeper is sort of acceptance, like he welcomes this as long as he gets to be with her. Along with Ascensionism I think he believes if he achieves a level of divinity, perhaps through death, they will get to be together forever, not just at Night.

Kyle’s not gonna be able to go through Missing Limbs without shedding a tear or two I think. That’s probably my favourite from this album, along with Alkaline.

I like how Eric mentioned that conspiracy. It becomes even more of a thought because of Granite with the lines of "so keep an eye on the road or we will both be here forever" and "I was more than just a body in your passenger seat" and even "I see you go HALF-BLIND when youre looking at me, BUT I AM"

Also when I first listened to Atlantic I thought it was about a car accident because of the lines talking about people at his bedside and someone talking him through the damage, like he woke up in a hospital after a serious accident that changed his life forever (an accident where he got seriously messed up and also took someone's life).

Might be a bit of a stretch but "crumble like a temple built from future daughters" to me references a womb, plus in High Water he mentions "And I know you still bear the weight of your own existence and you'll never bear the weight of two" and I think this is him speaking to his partner about their lost child.

The car crash theme comes back in Granite too: “I was more than just a body in your passenger seat…the glass on the street…keep your eye on the road or we will both be here forever” Always felt like a direct callback to Dark Signs for me.

I agree with you, Eric. Sleep Token has taken over my playlists. I have never been so invested in a band in my life. They are so different and refreshing and hit so many emotions. This album is a wild ride! Can't wait to see you all react to the rest of the songs!

I hope you get to see them live. That’s another incredible aspect. When they played Mine, Vessel added in the sobbing and the sound of desperation at the end. It’s an incredibly emotional experience, in a great way. Imagine how we all felt at Wembley when they played Bloodsport as the finale! Phenomenal.

This is the only band whose lyrics can mean so many different things depending on the listeners experience in life. The way the lyrics can simultaneously having multiple meanings and either bring comfort or break your heart is a testament to how well Vessel understands language and music composition. I don’t think any of us can say with 100% certainty what any particular song means and that is beautiful in and of itself.

Can’t WAIT for you to get to The Love You Want. Also can’t wait for you to get to the older releases One and Two (do them in that order!) but it’s been amazing seeing you go on this journey, as a long time Sleep Token fan it’s been incredible seeing their growth going from my first time seeing them where there were only a hundred or so people there, all the way to where they are now. So glad you’re taking the time to listen to everything they’ve got to offer!

Describing Sleep Token's effect on your life and the music you listen to as something you "yearn" for is so unbelievably accurate. That's EXACTLY how it feels to listen to and understand this music. It's only recently been a full year since Sleep Token's become a part of my life, but i find it difficult to imagine that there was ever a time when they weren't. They mean that much, and it's always beautiful to see thag sentiment shared across their listeners.

This song is so touching to me mostly bc I feel like he’s trying to be encouraging and present space he’s holding for her. It’s the most beautiful type of determination and certainty. A positive desperation. He’s showing her what all they’ve done and how capable they are and she will be his bc it already is so

Sleep Token is my new obsession since Deftones and Incubus. I absolutely fell in love with Sleep Token. Vessel’s vocal is insane,he touched my soul.

There is some *extremely* old vessel music on YT, and in the descriptions he talks about being very embarrassed to be on stage. I think the mask is truly just a way for him to conquer that fear. It also allows him to be very vulnerable.

That "talk-worthy" aspect comes from the lore, I think. Because Sleep Token drip-feeds you all kinds of lore as you listen to their albums. Some of it might be Sleep-related, and some might just be Vessel's own history, but it's all so heavily wreathed in metaphor that you can't help but engage in the storytelling to dig through clues and piece the puzzle together. ST isn't the only artist that does this, of course, but they do it incredibly well.

this is one that grew on me a lot over time, those vocal runs are so good! can't wait for the next one, you guys are gonna looove Like That :)

yes, there's a looot of references to crashing in their music and there's a theory vessel survived a car crash his lover didn't so i interpret this song as him singing to her in the afterlife from the living basically saying "we'll be together again, bc you promised you were mine"

The car crash conspiracy could be something. Not only the lyrics in some of the songs, but the fact that he talks about the goddess 'sleep' could be him referring to be in a coma for an amount of time. It's far fetched and like you said, the mystery is far more interesting and keeps the conversation going.

i think this is from the perspective of sleep. sleep (the personification of depression) is trying to drag him down into the eternity of death. crashing course = car crash, holy force = the passenger ascending to heaven causing the force of guilt.

I can't WAIT to see especially Kyle try to get through Missing Limbs. I just know tears are gonna be shed and it's gonna be uncontrollable.

The way Vessel sings with the breathiness and the drawn-out notes or singing through his teeth is exemplified best on Tomb. Tomb is the place to be if that's what you're looking for.

This album is unique because it’s a different flavor almost with every single song here. As many people said, you will shed some tears as you continue on, it’s very emotional but also gives clarity on some things as well. Always a pleasure to watch you two react and analyze Sleep Token #WORSHIP

The entire TPWBYT album is perfect, you're about to lose your minds when you get to "Like That" it has a couple of stylistic traits in it that are unique to only that song insofar as I can really recall and I sometimes binge their discography for around 12 hours a day for months 😩

You need to see or watch a video of this song live. Omg it's so good. Vessel is just absolutely amazing. And if you hear it live, you will understand just how good. When I saw them, i mean every song was better than album, though that's also just the experience as well haha. But I will never forget Vessel singing "You Will Be Mine" while 3 pointed at me directly as he sung along. I'm not gay. But omg 3 is just a perfect being. Whether he meant to or not, we connected that night. It helped that I stood probably a head taller than everyone else, so I stood out even 4 rows back on the floor

at 4:01 when that kicks in I ALWAYS get chills, much like you guys did and it really flips the song. It makes you feel things, it's what Sleep Token is all about, the music is so emotionally charged and amazing. This song always hits for me, hell this whole album really. Atlantic is still my favorite and I about died when it was played live. I love that you guys are going through the whole catalog and while I don't often watch React content I'm loving your inputs on these

Sleep Token has taken over my music since November of last year. It's all I can listen to now. Normally I get hooked on a particular album from whoever for 5 or 6 months and then I move on for a couple weeks and come back to it. But with ST, it just doesn't stop xD I don't WANT to listen to anything else. Ronnie dropped new stuff and I can't be bothered right now. Nothing else is as enticing as what I've found in sleep token. There was a time I was in my car on the way to work, and thought to myself "I'm never going to find anything like this again. Not for years. Not until other bands venture out and try this style, and certainly not until someone else comes along to master something of this caliber." Even then, it simply WON'T hit like these guys do.

I am in the same exact headspace. I try and listen to other artists, other songs I used to love to listen to. They don't hit the same as before. I can confidently say I am eternally changed by Sleep Token.

I’m surprised nobody’s mention that in TNDNBTG, the lyric ‘I know for the last time, you will not be mine’ Is in perfect contrast to this song. The Last Time, in reference to the cycle completing, how Sleep and Vessel will fall in love over and over again, unable to stop themselves on a crashing course, even though Union is impossible.

Hey, I love that you mentioned my theory here about the car accident. Especially with it being a reoccurring theme throughout this trilogy. Not to delve too deep but in the close ups you do see of his face he does have a scar that is visible around his chin, and you'll notice it more especially if you pause during the fall for me music video which of course we know you guys will be checking out soon.

Eric, I have been saying the SAME thing about the car accident! There are so many references to one. At the very least it was some kind of cannon event that maybe pushed him to this current path. Also, once you get the Nazareth something else will fall into place. I'm so pumped you said that.

The “sit down and discuss this” is so true. The theatrical structure of the albums brings to music the theories and discussions about themes that happened for tv shows. It’s super smart to get us hooked but also incredibly hard to make it actually good and not corny because the individual lyrics and whole story must be great for it to work. Vessel is just something special.

My sister and i do nothing but talk about Sleep Token! We talk about the lyrics and how we think they fit into the story. We just love to pick all of their songs apart

The car related lyrics could also be a metaphor, as a car is a vessel of some sort as well, and he's using it to describe his body, as a vessel. But one doesn't negate the other tho.

i started welding school last August, 20 years as It-tech... well. I found the token and told my next booth welder bud "Hey, listen to this song... " there is one thing (amongst other) that you dont do to someone that is welding and that is grabbing their arm.. I am a tig-ger so... she grabbed me and weld whent to sh... She pulled up her sleve and showed me the gooose bumps. I forgave her for me just diping my tip.

About the car crashing references: I think it’s just a saying, a metaphor for a relationship lost control of when it went toxic. I once had a person tell me that they already saw the car crash when we were talking about our relationship and meant by that that our communication styles were so different that it would have never worked. Maybe there was a real car crash, we’ll probably never know, but I still believe it to be more probable that Vessels lyrics reference more to a toxins relationship that anything else.

I always struggle with Sleep Token… but so far I have been liking every song off this album. I have been waiting to go through it with you guys rather than just downloading and listening to the whole thing! Cannot wait until the next one!
