Very Rusty Old Padlock Restoration. What was inside shocked me
Ойын-сауық
This is not a fake restoration of a very rusty padlock. I think the padlock was made in the early 20th century. I was shocked to see what was inside the padlock. There was a lot of rust inside the padlock. I didn't even see the lock mechanism. I already thought that I would not be able to finish the restoration. But I still made this padlock. I removed the rust and preserved the old metal. Now the padlock works again. I hope you liked my restoration.

I love warded locks, and that rust was crazy. Thanks for rescuing that lock, it looks beautiful now!

Beautiful Restoration. 😁👏🏻😁👏🏻😁👏🏻😁
Not just a fake covered in mud, actually a real restoration Awesome video
Awesome as always. Since you have all the parts, why not fabricate reproduction locks as little as possible”do-it-yourself” puzzle projects that can get kids interested in your craft?

I love it ❤️ Has a very steam punk asthectic.🗝️🔓
Good job 👏👏🌹🍀🌺
This is one of the most satisfying Resto videos I’ve seen in a long time. Loved the combination of manual elbow grease and some mechanical assistance. Great subject too. Not seen a lock with such a simple but clever mechanism before. Likes also the sound levels you used where you could really hear that crispy rust flaking off. You got your video and audio set up just right. Great work - new subscriber! 👍🏻

2 minutes in I knew this a channel I'd like to sub to and I did the second I finished what an amazing restoration the care you take of a piece of history most people would bin is amazing, so glad your not one of the restoration channel that uses filler to hide an items history then covers it in "powder coat" even more disguising the history of the piece

curious to know how old the lock was and where it was found? 👏 great job. would a rust dissolver have worked better?

I think a padlock from the beginning of the 20th century. I doubt that rust dissolver would have worked better
That lock has an interesting looking design on the inside, I don't remember seeing that kind before. You should send that thing to Lockpicking Lawyer to play with.
Дякую за гарне відео 👍

Do you think that electricity works better, or worse, than EvapoRust? I have the EvapoRust, but have never tried electricity. Thanks for your opinion. Awesome job. Outstanding videography.

Nice resto! Have you ever thought about doing nickel plating to reduce or eliminate the pocking from extremely rusty items?

Nicht schlecht restauriert aber das ganze geht noch viel einfacher mit einer anderer Anwendungstechnik bei deren man am Ende auch keine Rostnarben mehr erkennen kann ! 😯🧐

Did you watch a different video than I did? Fake rust is either mud or left in salt water for a few weeks. You could see the layers of rust as it was being removed. No way was that fake.
@TheStonedSpidR

yeah is that why when he opened it up it was caked with "rust" with there actually being nothing in there to produce that much rust. and the components with that much rust would have holes and structure integrity issues. None of this happened. Fake.@@Simonsimon-fy3hq

wow he removed my response rofl totally fake ass channel with fake videos. if that lock had that much rust in it there would be nothing left of the internals. nothing. there was so much "rust" in there but none of the internals were damaged at all. not one hole not super thin metal, nothing. fake. fake fake and im sure he'll remove this response also so im going to screenshot it.@@Simonsimon-fy3hq
