Ford never marketed nor promoted the 59 Galaxie as a "Fairlane 500 Galaxie", just as the "Galaxie". The earliest Skyliners and Sunliners were indeed Fairlane 500s, as the Galaxie came out about 3 months after the 59 Fords came out. Those pre Galaxie Ford convertibles are worth a little extra, as they are fairly rare. The Galaxie stole the lion's share of sales, despite the late introduction. Folks loved the so-called Thunderbird roofline that the Galaxie had.
