Very Easy Steps to Make 500-700WHP on Your 03 Cobra!
Ғылым және технология
What's up guys, welcome back to the channel.
So the most common question I get on KZread, Instagram, Facebook, or the Forums, is "How do I make 500 or 700whp?" and instead of always typing the answers out to help folks, I wanted to shoot a video with my thoughts and opinions all bunched up in a single quicker video.
I hope you guys enjoy, and as always. Thank you for your support!

I agree with you on the whipple. Best bang for the buck IMHO. I'm happy in the 600-650whp range on the street and for that the Whipple 2.3 Gen 2 with a 3" or 3.5" upper pulley will get you there. 60 lb injectors and GT supercar pumps still work here.
Those wheels are the greatest on this car wow !

The Terminator never fails to impress! I'm happy with my setup (for now)...600-ish rwhp on 17psi with the 2.9L Whipple and supporting mods, 700-ish with 22psi and ms109. I have thought about getting some bigger injectors and running E85 but the availability of E85 is the issue.

Mine made 464/493 with Billetflow 2.76 upper, Metco underdrive pulleys, JLT intake, 95mm MAF, AFCO dual pass H/E, and SLP LM cat back. Pump 93 on max but safe tune.
What type of rims are those man? They look very nice
Man what’s your wheel and tire set up looks bad ass
Mine put down 483 with a 2.76 / exhaust / JLT on the un ported Eaton. Really fun at this level but my goal the whole time when getting a Terminator was for 650. Been fighting this internal battler forever of which blower to get. In the end I think I'm just going to go with the Whipple 2.9 non crusher. Should not have to many issues getting to 650 on 93 pump gas.

@@Intervention302 That’s the conclusion I’m coming to after being dead set on a VMP GEN3R but not a fan of beating the coolant crossover and their reluctance to put out numbers on the GEN3R on the Cobras is as concerning as it was for the Gen3. Just seems like the power is there with the Whipples.

I made 453/468 on a 2.70 pulley, intake, exhaust, accufab sbtb and 60# injectors. Had to drive the car to get tuned about 2 hours and it was 80 degrees when I got it tuned. Not sure if the blower was hot but I still happy with the numbers. Might have to do the pumps and heat exchanger next as I may put a 2.2 KB on it soon

I'm researching. I'd prefer the stock SC appearance but we only have 92 octane and no E85 in our area.
just bought an 03 satin silver 10th anniversary, i cant find a write up the GT Supercar pumps and 60lb injectors, do you know of any good resources for this fuel upgrade? My eaton is ported as a 2.76 pulley according to the previous owner. I dont want to run my car lean and want to get a wideband AFR setup installed and have the fuel system upgrade done, what wideband setup do you recommend?
Would you recommend this setup with a Whipple 2.3L?
whats your break setup ?
i know the whipples were mean’t for the cobra’s on the new edge mustangs. but what if i wanted to whipple 2.9l Gen 4 supercharge my 01 GT? should i build my motor to handle the power so i don’t blow it? i have seen some 2v GT’s with whipples but they always went with the 2.3l whipple making around 550whp i want to make more while sticking with my 2v
@midnight347

There is a kit that allows use of terminator blowers on the 2v. Look into that and go with a gen3r tvs not a 2.9 Whipple you'll make more power and torque and more average power over a 2.9 all things equal.
I'm watching this, wanting the 700hp, sitting whippled with the dual GT pumps, 20lbs of boost and 60# injectors, 552HP :( i only have the 2.3 whipple though

Are you on 91/93? I’ve read of many 2.3 whipple making 580-600 with 17 psi I know 20/21 psi an some torco will net you around 650+ depending on the torco

@@shnoopydoopy6707you don't need a full return style fuel system to run torco that is what he means by easier lol. Also you'll get same mpg as straight 93 whereas e85 will get 30+% lower if that matters. 93 with a booster is like middle of the road between 93 and e85. You'll make a decent bit more than just 93 and can be more aggressive with boost but not as much as with e85.

If you watch the outlaw street racers on dsc, you would never want to use nitrous. On almost every show there are a couple of cars that blow up their engines using nitrous. Stick with boost, you and your car will live longer!
@Nicecardude100
3 жыл бұрын
@@tomkjr1 Yea im not big on nitrous, i thought about it with my impala but its 11.5:1 and buying a kit for a 25 or 50 shot which is probably the safe zone is kind of pointless. However a 75 wet shot would probably be plenty safe on e85 but i dont now how difficult and reliable a wet shot would be on a Direct injection motor
@tomkjr1
3 жыл бұрын
@@Nicecardude100 Yeah, it's a dangerous balancing act for sure. Lots of things to go wrong...leaks, bottle pressure & temperature, solenoid failure, etc. Just sitting on the line too long at a dig race can cause your manifold to fill up with nitrous and blow when you hit the gas. Boost is better and you have many choices too.
@midnight347
3 жыл бұрын
@@tomkjr1 ive never used it but its just like anything else it has to be installed correctly and tuned correctly and you cant cheap out on the kit and your fuel upgrades. I beleive that is why there are failures on nitrous is due to improper install, improper tuning or cheaping out on the kit and the fuel upgrades or some combination of these things. People use nitrous on top of ported eaton setups with great results on these cars have been for years it actually cools them down alot and many use a shot just for that alone. Alot of guys blow their engines with blowers and turbos too if they cheap out or install incorrectly or have a dangerously aggressive tune etc. I would rather just slap a blower on and not deal with it but many people have good results on nitrous as well. People think of it as this stuff that will blow your motor it really isnt any more unsafe than any other forced induction its almost always user error to some degree OR its just guys at the track pushing the envelope too far. Just my .02
