on the compression your parent function has a mistake you did (3,0) insted of (4,0) on the x^2 thank you for your support these videos help alot and i just giveing back a liitle of the help you gave me in Grade school

Yes it would be a vertical stretch by a value of 2 and it would also reflect over the x-axis since it is negative.

If a = - 2 is it a compression or stretch neither?

It would be a vertical stretch, because it's going up twice as fast, but it would also be reflected over the x-axis because of the negative.
what if there is no value in the A spot?

What happens when your a value is less than -1?

If your a value is negative, then it flips your graph over the x-axis, so the graph would open downwards.
