I’m a figure bodybuilder. I’ve had the same verse grips pro for 11 years and am finally getting another pair. When bench pressing with them, simply reverse the gloves to the other side of your wrist, and now they are only wrist support. I’ve done dead lifts with these for YEARS. The older they get the better they are for dead lifts.

Just bought some Versa Gripps Classic. Used them for the 1st time today, they worked perfectly.
I've had mine for 20 years and they're completely beat up, but can still be used! Time for a fresh pair :)
I've had these for around 5 years myself and just got a new pair, the velcro finally started to dull. Cant complain after consistent use for that long, was a no brainer to buy a new pair.

Great review. Thanks! I've had a Pro pair for two years now and very pleased with them. I'm also cursed with small wrists (7½") but, to me, the R/L fit is fine. They're not meant to be tight fitting, so you can quickly swivel them out of the way to load a bar, etc. The looser fit may feel a bit disconcerting at first if you're only used to traditional straps. I first used them on a 1RM deadlift and had visions of the straps sliding down onto my hands. As soon as the load came on they felt solid and you knew they weren't going to slip. Whenever someone tries them for the first time I reassure them on this point. Some pretty big dudes (≈8½" wrists) have used them and still had plenty of overlap on the Velcro although obviously they should opt for a bigger size if buying their own. The only other thing I would add is that wrapping the tongue around a 35mm bar is a little fiddly. So if you use them on a Smith machine you'll take a bit longer to get them in place.
@RyanTreadaway

I've had mine since 2014/2015, And I use them for a lot pushing and pulling exercise, not just deadlifting which they are a staple in my workout gear for that. That are just as effective today as they were 9-10 years ago. These things are durable AF and will stand the test of time.
@RyanTreadaway

Same. I got mine around the same. I don't like them for pushing exercises but use them for some pulling exercises. They've lasted forever. The only way these things are ever going to wear out is when the Velcro eventually wears out.

@@RyanTreadaway Both my wrist are 7 inches on the dot. Should I get the small ones?
Most of your annoyances with the product seem to be lack of “natural feel” or connection with the bar while lifting. I feel like this is something that re-develops over time, with use, as your brain relearns that connection (same with lifting gloves.) It would be similar to someone not used to wearing shoes suddenly wearing shoes and it feeling strange. I think it’s a great product. Wrist support and being able to focus on a muscle group more confidently because of not losing focus on making sure your grip strength stays adequate is a no-brainer to me. Great product. I will agree that having a simple set of wrist straps in your gym bag as well as these is a smart choice.

Yea these seem great for everything but heavy deadlift imo you nailed it, I didn't like them the first time, I just don't feel as secure and deadlift is such a mental lift that it matters a lot. Also versa grips recommends looser fit, but idk seems like preference

If you size down, would it be harder to wrap around since the strap would be shorter?

My my wrist size, the strap is too long. It wraps partially in front of my hand. Sizing down would help prevent that. If you're at the very top end of the range for a size, maybe don't size down. If you're around halfway or lower in the size range, I'd consider sizing down.

Does it provide wrist support?
@RyanTreadaway

They do, but like I said, I would probably not use them for pressing. Wrist wraps will still be better because you can wrap above and below the joint to provide more stability. With a strap, you can only have it above the wrist.
