The artist is obviously doing this professionally. The effect is really cool and marketable. The money he gets selling them totally outweighs the price of the paint.. Art is can be anything, but it's certainly not waste.

I think that is beautifull and all of those colors and combined like that, what u call waste others can call criativity!

Ahhh am crying about the amount of paint being used! I'll bet all that paint could get me through university (5 years) and give me a head start on my career. :P BUT I do admit it's really cool. I'd like to see more of the pieces mounted on the wall behind.

While I do agree that the method is simplistic in nature, and anyone can do it, no one will ever be able to repeat what the artist created here. it is a random pattern created by gravity and fluid, as you can clearly see, no two flows of paint look exactly the same. this is art in its simplest form, beauty in chaos wrapped into one.

There is a glass lampwork technique for making flower buttons in glass....that you could try/adapt....??...You would make a disk shape on a flat surface...then using a pick/toothpick, drag in from 4 points (vary this to make more or less petals) to make the petals shape....can then drag out the petal points...thats basically it....I guess by varying this you could make other flowers etc...Just jumping in with this idea...trust you havent already tried this etc...Rgds...Laurie

Se vuoi conservare l'opera conviene usare gli acrilici poichè secchi sono plastici, sennò le tempere classiche ma secche si spaccano, in ogni modo ciò che conta è la giusta diluizione del pigmento, se troppo non cola bene, se troppo liq. cola troppo veloc. ed è trasparente! un saluto! ;))

Just a comment to all of you haters: I go to a school of art (in Sweden) and the only time I've ever heard someone say that we've wasted paint were when one of my classmates smeared A LOT of colors all over her hands and face... You really can't waste paint if you don't try SUPER HARD.

I understand the 'waste of paint' but it's still art, so get over it. No one person dictates what is and what is not art.

This appears to just be a vast waste of paint. It really seems like this is what people-who-don't-know-what-else-to-do-with-paint do with paint. Am I missing something here?Is it meant to be simply therapeutic? If so, is it better than a massage? I can't imagine doing this and finding a place for the finished product- which is what I'd want to do after investing money on all that paint.
