I have been playing for 120 hours, and this is the first time that I'm learning that you can configure your bots. Wow. I wish FS was better about mechanic transparency, things seem so obscure and poorly documented.

How do even customize the bot?? All i saw is mercenary hire preferences

After the last tweaks bots only can use two handed weapons effectively. I used bret sword in the old times on Kruber, but it's not viable anymore. Kruber takes the most damage so I use heal share on him and it works well. I carried a medkit in the old times but now I carry a tome and Kruber takes the healing item, preferably a potion. Exec sword works on GN but I don't know if it's better than greatsword. I think limb splitter has not much sense because greatsword cleaves a lot. The more the merrier talent is better. GN bot is not able to block even with double shield weapon, 60% BCR and stamina regen.

To be honest I agree with you. More the merrier would probably be better for overall damage. However, because it's a bot using the talent I don't believe the difference will be that noticeable. I personally just like planning for the worst case scenario with bots. Either talent would most likely work just fine though. Definitely the cleave talent for the ex sword or bret sword however.

I actually prefer strike together for free swift slaying for the party (them attack speed stacks), and on yer feet mates for more reliable bot revives if it's ever needed. Because bots suck at reviving even if they are on top of you.

I'd also recommend putting natural bond on bots, seems to work well for me. Source: solo catA/legend with full bot team

That's fair. I guess I just don't find myself dying often with bots, but strike together can be great for a party. I used to run nat bond on all my bots because it would keep them from healing. I don't think it does that anymore since they updated the bots but I could be wrong.

I give them all the repeater because more shots. Properties and traits hardly matter for bots because they barely shoot usually. Probably would say chaos and infantry though.

Can i ask what's your logic by choosing the 2H sword over the Exe sword? I've been using the Exe sword on my Merc bot since forever and he seems to be really reliable with it and takes out elites no problem... I use the same talents set up too.

A fair question as I've used to ex sword many times on my bot as well. It comes down to attack speed for me. The ex sword is a much slower weapon which will cause the bot to take more hits vs the faster swinging greatsword. However the ex sword is better for elites as you mentioned. I choose to prioritize defense in any way I can for my bots. I personally don't care how much damage they do as long as they stay alive I'm good. The ex sword will certainly work most of the time, just know that your bot will be open to getting hit more during hordes. If you're cool with that roll on.

@@WetMagic The reason i think it works great on Merc bot is because he has extra attack speed at his disposal via paced strikes which is easy to proc with exe, obviously not so great on the other Krubers. Cheers.

Put Executioner sword on my merc one time and a skaven patrol got me down while he and bardin (IB with hammer and shield) just completely soloed them and revived me.
