Vermeer Rolls Out First Self Propelled Baler

Ғылым және технология

On Sept. 13, 2017, at Husker Harvest Days, Vermeer Corp. introduced the first self-propelled baler for making round hay bales. But there's more to it than simply being self-propelled as it also features several "autonomous" functions that will reduce the normal labor required to produced round bales.

Looks great ! , I also find the biggest item to constantly watch while baling is the pickup , I got used to listening to mine , as the tines just start to "ping" when you begin to get a pickup blockage , ( usually due to a wad of damp crop ) this happens before you see the crop begin to block the pickup , so perhaps some kind of torque reading load sensor on the pickup drive would tell you when the pickup became harder to turn , before you blocked it in ignorance of the impending conditions , you could then slow down your ground speed & watch the pickup harder to ensure it does not get the chance to block ! but you still must be able to see the pickup somehow , either cameras or directly. ( I mainly bale big bale silage , hence it,s not fully dried out , & does not dance & flow like dry hay , & is therefore more difficult to bale ) How many other drivers out there have spent ages unblocking damp pickups ! constructive comments please guys . Thanks & happy windrows .

If Vermeer could somehow incorporate their trailed mowers, tedders and rakes with this awesome machine it would be game changer

This is a very nice powertrain but it is only usable 4 to 5 weeks a year. May I suggest to make a removable round baler for a square baler or a pick-up truck box (to move sick animal or wood), or a front loader or blade pusher (for snow) a broom or anything to use this nice machine all year round.... Best ...., Louis

You talk about everything except what it costs. If it's that big a secret I don't want one. I'm guessing it's so over priced that you don't want to admit what it is. Am I correct???

With less operator movements he needs to go to the gym for exercise. With automatic control he needs to play video games to keep his mind active !

Although money is not an issue as such I can't justify buying a one trick pony so to speak unless all my custom wanted bales so it looks like this won't b joining our fleet unless my Dad wants to buy himself new toy.
