Speechless !! Wow - The production, Abbado, the Wiener Staatsoper, Cappuccilli, and the rest of the cast, and above all Pavarotti. He's the best Riccardo ever, also in other recordings such as with Solti.

it was Gabriela Lechner s debut in the role, she stood in for Margaret Price who fell ill just before opening night.I was there throughout the run of performances, remember how shy G Lechner was -before her triumph that night.May she Rest in Peace.

I thought Grabriele Lechner was wonderful in this performance. She was a last minute substitute. Would have thought she would have gone on the great things after this. She reminds me of Susan Dunn, another singer who disappeared.

Agreed. She should/could have developed a greater international career after this, but it just didn´t happen.

è un'opera che non conosco e vorrei vederla aqnche in un bell'allestimento (non in quelle versioni spoglie o moderne di adesso) vorrei anche evitare Katya Ricciarelli che proprio non mi piace. Magari mi guardo questa...
