The voice of Radvanowsky still a miracle and Kaufmann stunning, breathtaking performance and il ben zeer blij met de productie van L de Beer🥰
I am not ready for this type of production of Aida. The voices are fabulous and the music of course but really, the use of puppets? Why?

It feels like a distracting gimmick rather than true innovation. There's an insightfulness to the way someone such as Julie Taymor can bring to the theatre. This seems ill conceived and ultimately mundane.
Wonderful production(watched the full opera yesterday). Sublime voices and powerful and very moving ending. Loved it!❤️🌷
Was für ein Glück, dass ich die ganze Oper am 21.2.21 aufgenommen habe, auch wenn die Festplatte fast voll mit Kaufmann Opernszenen und Interviews. 👍
If alive today, would Maestro Verdi recognize this as a production of Aïda???

One would assume his imagination remained intact and that he would want his work to remain relevant.
Sondra has said publicly that she didn’t understand or like this production. But I think it’s intriguing. I’ve seen countless productions with pyramids and headdresses and all the usual “ancient Egyptian” nonsense. I’m open to something new, although I think this is a bit misguided.
This is a little too extreme even for the future generation - and a pretty stupid way to confer this powerful masterpiece - may be the best opera ever written. Not a good idea in my book. The voices are powerful though - that I can say. Seeing Jonas Kaufmann singing to a puppet in his grave in the final act - ridiculous, ludicrous!
un'altra produzione idiota di qualche teatro tedesco. Ma un artista come Kaufmann non potrebbe rifiutarsi di partecipare ad un simile scempio?
The puppet gimmick was terrible when they tried it in "Madame Butterfly." Here it's obscene and seems to be there in case some of the audience is bored by Verdi.

THE PUPPET IS UGLY AND TRIBAL ART IS NOT THEY COULD HAVE DONE SOME HOMEWORK
Radvanovsky is beautiful in this and is obviously an intelligent singer. Kaufann is just unemotional as usual
Beau cast mais hélas mise en scène ignoble , a chier sur la gueule tout simplement a vomir
That is unspeakably awful.

I know - Isn't it awful that this Aida doesn't look exactly like every other production that's ever existed? Yawn.

@@bobneu9943 As we all know the only two choices are between grey/blue puppets, or Egyptian headdresses into perpetuity. Nothing else allowed!
Incredibly AWFUL... People like this will be the ruination of Opera!
