Kevonstage saved mine and brought Tony to me as the perfect Cherry on Top of EVERYTHING of my visuals and listening joy! They are both my Brothers in my Head. Tony and I grew up almost parallel and think the same way. I swear we could be from the same nutsack 🤣🤣🤣 If I didn't know who my Father was. I have social anxiety, Tony, so that mindset you have about going to events or anything like that. I feel you 100% on that. I've been like that all my life.

As a true fellow introvert, I can appreciate this episode for multiple reasons. One being the excuse aspect cause I definitely find a reason to stay inside, much like what you described. Mainly for peace of mind, even when the actual task isn't that daunting. Reason two, just not identifying with a standard/preference that other people try to place on you when in all reality, there are variables we can't control. You like what you like. And lastly, you can appreciate a visual of a person, but when you add in that "but will I come out the house consistently for you" hit home. Lol may just be signs of an overthinker, but the conversation is appreciated

Just from hearing Amir's commentary from behind the scenes on other podcast episodes, I knew he was coming 10 toes down 😂 💪🏽 There is definitely a social aspect when it comes to what we like/prefer. And with all the potential social/class/financial implications behind darker skin the context becomes clearer. We do not exist in a vacuum. I had to teach myself that context as a young person for my own self-esteem. These are good conversations to have especially when we can get past the defensiveness and approach the topic with curiosity ✨️

It always sucks when someone you don’t know just decides who you are. It can always be a misunderstanding if you were acquainted and had opportunity to clarify yet even then, some people are dismissive because they’re definitely self centered when in that instance. Not a type I ever like or welcome to be around me at all.

Yes the phone thing on a Saturday morning for me and always having something scheduled and guilt to relax. For me the guilt is cultural- Caribbean parents can’t let you be they always have something for you to do. Now as an adult it’s ingrained. Have to say it’s okay to do nothing and chill on the couch.

4:10 My biggest reason for excuses is the gym. I always say I’m tired or Al e version of that but I did have a 2 week stint where I just did it just because even thought the excuses were present.
