Ventilation (V) Perfusion (Q) Coupling
In this mini-lecture, Dr Mike explains what ventilation perfusion coupling (also know as V/Q ratio) is. He also highlights its clinical importance!

Your explanation is amazing especially with your smile 😊. All of this physiology is telling us how amazing God created us! The way the body interacts with hypoxia and all different changes
I truly became amazed by how you teach after watching your video on restrictive and obstructive pulmonary disease! I immediately shared that video with some of my friends and they were equally benefitted from the video as I was. I hope you always keep on teaching us complicated topics of physiology in such simple manner! Thank you in advance 💙
I can not thank you enough for making pathophysiology so easy to understand.
Amazing thank you for making something so complicated, so simple to understand
What an impressive method of lecturing! Thanks a lot 👍.
I’m taking this class that’s called environmental sustainability. I’m learning all about CO2 and oxygen- photosynthesis. Just wondering sometimes why this class is part of my Alternative Medicine degree. Now I know why... Lol Thanks Dr. Mike for clarification on all that again. I can’t wait to watch this segment again and soak it all up- in my brain! Your so great!!! 🍎📚💯🙏🌎🇺🇸🍹
my amazing teacher, thanks for the lesson, I enjoy it.
Outstanding as usual Dr.Mike. One more point: when there is a blockage in the perfusion, our pulmonary arteries dilate to match the ventilation rate.
You’re a great professor thank you
Greatly explained, Doc. 👍🏾 Can you please demonstrate when there's a mismatch? Thanks .
Thank you sir. You are the best teacher.
Very Very Useful Mr. DR. Mike
Thank you for the best explanation

Good lecture no doubt
very very thank you!!!!!!!!
WELL SAID
you are the goat
...looking good with the mustache and the accent perfect...!
Love you Doki Mikey🥳🥳🥳
Thankss
Wow!
Thanks for simplifying it. But it's kinda weird how blood vessels from other parts of the body would vasodilate in response to less oxygen concentration, and it's the other way around for pulmonary's 😅

this confuses me too haha
If blood flow is diminished, for eg. in the event of hypovolaemia, do the alveolar respond by constricting?
Can u teach about ventilator and there settings? please
❤❤
I could have used this for my patho test last week. I missed 2 on V/Q

That reminds me last week when he did that respiration one with the lungs where he used as a syringe as an example well it was later on I saw that segment but it was like two days before and I was still studying on the chapter that we had that been introduced to the weather and it just made the whole concept with humidity and condensation and precipitation all make sense. Both subjects totally different but fell in a symbiosis relationship. Crazy! Dr Mike is god sending -awesome
Please explain how ALS affects respiration.
what are your plans for anatomy DR. MATT and DR.MIKE

I had wondered about that too... I’m sure they will be on time as usual. The new red haired guy is pretty good as well.
