I’m going to have to watch later as we’re out here building my Icf walls but, I always go with sealed attics, because most of our mechanical stuff ends up in the attic. Interested to see what conclusion you came to

Good video, thank you! I am a little behind you in my ICF build, but I'm trying to figure out when to foam the roof decking. Sounds like sooner rather than later is best.

That was a big lesson for us. Luckily, our spray guy was kind and accommodating!

I am always a few steps behind. Getting ours sprayed in 3 weeks. Going to do 4 inch of closed. Im in georgia so a lot less of a heat load then yall out in the mountains.

It makes a huge difference. So glad you're building! How are you fighting humidity out there? We live in a very dry place so I've never had to battle it.

@@Mountainview-mesa It isnt too big an issue at least not any different then any other high performance home, we just swap the erv for a venting dehumidifier and should be good to go. It will slightly pressurize the house which we want in a high radon area. As far as leaks go I am going to put a fog machine in the house for a few hours and then put a fan in the door, like a blower door with some plastic. The fog should get pushed to where ever there is a leak and be able to be seen. Poor mans blower door.

Are you using your erv to vent the conditioned attic space?

Yes. There will be a full (long) video on the ERV install later, but fresh air will be making it up into the attic for sure.
