Sea snakes normally avoid humans but this time of year they become very active, frustrated and potentially aggressive as they look for a mate!

    ​@Absynthe Cobras are not edible but I've ate snakes before, prepared several different ways. Similar to a cross between chicken and beef. I cut it into chunks, coated the pieces in flour with old bay seasoning and fry em in oil. The Eastern Diamondback rattlesnake is deadly alive, but delicious dead. Better than the alligator I ate, snake has a slightly sweet taste. The next snake I eat is you.

I guess we are all fearful of something in life, this knocked me down a couple pegs. Crazy thing is you never know when where or who it can come. Look at Steve Irwin. Guy tangled with everything but a usually pretty harmless manta ray offed him. Fate is more terrifying than this snake, but kudos to paddleboard man.

    ​@@Heesabthe thing that gets me are the signs at some beaches to beware of the jellyfish because the stings can kill. Then when you know that there are salt water crocodiles around as well... I need a safe swimming pool. My sister lives in a Brisbane suburb and often sees wallabies and the odd snake when she goes out walking. I love all the wild birds that wake you up in the morning. Australia is great country to visit.

    We grow up with a plethora of deadly snakes, poisonous spiders, scorpions, deadly jellyfish, fish, tiny blue ringed octopus, varieties of killer sharks, huge big red kangaroos that like to fight and box, other kangaroos that can kill with one kick, killer emus and cassowaries, saltwater crocodiles , fresh water crocodiles, snap happy dingoes, dive bombing magpies, huge wasps and more. Then there's the plants too, with berries, leaves and sap that can kill you. We grow up aware from a very young age, not afraid, and treat our poisonous/deadly cohabitants with respect and with our laconic humour. 😄

    Sea snakes are known to be fairly docile in water, bites are rare. But on land, they're in unfamiliar territory, and are much more aggressive.
