Wipe inside to out with circles. Don’t touch the area with the gloved finger. You can touch it though if you wipe the finger on the alcohol pad.

no no no !! always wipe the site at least 3x, NEVER retouch a venipuncture site, and always have the blood collection tube ready as soon as the needle is in

Tourniquet is there to engorge the veins to make blood flow better. You release it after you're done to equalize pressure and minimize bleeding at the site. Also, barely wiped the site. A lot of incorrect techniques.

You can retouch it with a gloved hand if you have a fresh alcohol wipe that you can rub your glove on.

@@kvngg4383 yo. no area of the skin is ever sterile after using alcohol prep pads 💀… the closest you’ll ever get to sterile is a surgery prep, but even then it’s not absolutely sterile. It’s impossible for skin to be sterile

@@kvngg4383 by that logic, you can treat a wiped down glove as sterile then, since a glove wiped with an alcohol pad is most definitely more “sterile” than a piece of skin wiped down..

We never give the patient to hold the article. Sometimes the patient is afraid of getting a needle prick, there is a possibility that the patient may drop objects. and your articles got dirty.

I did this this is probably the best way to extract blood it hurts a bit more than doing by finger but the finger takes 10 times to get the blood needed to test the blood

I was taught to clean the site from the inside and move out in a circular motion and to never touch it after wiping but I always see ppl doing this for some reason

Supposed to wipe center out in a clockwise fashion and let it dry before inserting the needle. 😂

I thought that you need a separate tray for sterile accessories, such as minimum 2 sterile needles, swabs, and the kidney dish is meant for containing used swabs, etc.

Fui a un laboratorio reconocido de mi país a la hora de la extracción usaron el sistema vacutainer pero me percaté que el capuchón/holder/portatubos automático ( reutilizable )tenía sangre en la rosquita interna eso representa algún riesgo para mi ? La sangre del sistema vacutainer puede reingresar a mis venas ? Me dijeron que no porque solo es un soporte y no tiene contacto directo pero quiero estar segura ya que tengo miedo de que me contagien de algO

Bro how are you inserting and pulling out the tube so easily? I felt like I had a tug of war with the needle and the tube and I felt like I was doing more harm to a classmate of mine. I took the needle out and was like I don't want to cause any more pain. Can someone tell me what to do better?

they are technically not trying to fill to the top. each tube has a vacuum that sets it to a certain ml. like 2.7 ml or 4ml

The puncture area should be cleansed for 30 seconds, no re-touch after.. do some research before trying to educate others.. you'd fail your training in the UK if you did it that way you show in your vid. Also giving pt your equipment to hold is extremely unprofessional

They are using vacutainer. Negative pressure inside. When we took with 5/10 cc syringe in wards we had to open tourniquet for easy flow after venous access before pulling the plunger .
