Hi. Your videos are great and easy to understand 💯. I've been using the UDI Arrow for 4 weeks and I'm impressed. I recently discovered the Veles 29 and can get it for €/$459. Your video is just right. I have a few questions: 1. Do you have to grease the shaft after every day of riding? (no saltwater here)2. Do you have to mask the cover before driving? Doesn't look like it, does it? 3. What are the first wearing parts without an accident? Best regards from Germany.✌

Hey thanks!! Veles is a great boat it’s big, heavy and fast!! The flex shaft on any RC boat (including the arrow) has to be taken out and greased at the end of the day using marine grease. It is best to store your flex shaft out of the boat with grease on it until the next time you use it. There is always a little residual moisture in the stuffing tube so you don’t want your flex shaft sitting in there. Fresh grease keeps the flex shaft from rusting and eventually snapping under load and also the grease acts as a water seal and prevents your boat from filling up with water. I have not had anything wear or break yet but I have had the set screw on the motor shaft coupler come loose so loc tite that screw right out the box. Fresh grease constantly non stop haha and check all screws and fasteners out of the box. This is a fast boat. Also the hatch seals up very nice on this boat. It has a nice foam seal and 4 thumb screws. I have had zero water get inside. I only use hatch tape on my Blackjack 24 where it only has two thumbscrews. Veles 29 is a beast and very fast have fun!!

You’re very welcome!! Anytime glad to help!! And yes the lipo prices are super annoying for sure. CNHL batteries are nice high quality with excellent performance. Check them out. There is no need to use Spektrum batteries. Spektrum batteries are crazy expensive. Currently I’m using two CNHL 5000 mah 75C batteries. But don’t get me wrong the Spektrum batteries are very nice. But expensive

It never hurts to tape the hatch every time as the hatch seal will begin to wear with use.

That’s actually what I’m using haha. I squirt the Lucas marine oil into that little cup I’m using in the video for ease of use purposes. Agree the dynamite grease is expensive for the amount you get. Thanks for watching!!

Hello, I have a veles 29 and the shaft broke from the coupler and I've only had the boat in the water twice. I removed the shaft and about 5 mm of the shaft was still inside the coupler. I can reinstall it but had to adjust the motor and the coupler to be able to reach it but I will not have a 2 mm gab now. Why do you think the flex shaft broke, to tight maybe? I didn't check the gab or balance the prop before its first voyage either. I thought was told it was ready to got out of the box. So, I'm guessing i should buy a new flex cable before I try again too. Thank you for the video.

Sorry to hear that but out of the box some of them are good to go but lots are not even close to hitting the water. Unfortunately you learned the hard way that you HAVE to check everything before putting a boat in the water. It most likely broke due to not having a proper gap between the drive dog and strut and when the flex shaft twisted under load it snapped due to not enough gap. Do not run the broken flex shaft. It’s done. Also grease, grease, grease and more grease. Out of the box and after every few packs you will be adding new grease. It’s mandatory and will also lead to flex cable snapping if not done regularly. As far as a replacement get one from Off Shore Electrics. They have better flex shafts for the Veles 29. Good luck and any more questions feel free to ask!

Anytime man! Glad to help. Good luck! Keep that shaft greased up, store it outside of the boat until your ready to go next time with fresh grease on it. There is always a little bit of moisture inside the stuffing tube which can led to corrosion on the flex shaft which leads to breakage. And watch that gap between drive dog and strut. 2-3 mm is ideal. Veles 29 is a great boat!
