Thanks to IRON CLAD, I had a chance to do my own prop testing. Not , quite as robust , but it gave me a good starting point. I was coming from , a Stock setup with my Black Jack 24, so, my test bench, was limited. MY electronics had already been upped to a 120 Amp ESC. , and a few additional tweaks. THE boat had come with a Stock Black Jack 29 prop, which simply over heated the electronics. I had tested several CNC props, .438, a.440, several FTL's , and a Grim Racer. 1515. THE Grim Racer and the FTL 438 , ran the best, and the smaller prop, (s) , actually kept the electronics cooler, and both props, were wicked fast on 4S. THE .440, had a good top end, but was a bit sluggish at the start. I gained two mph. , but , with hot electronics, it wasn't worth it. I eventually settled on the.438 FTL , with a 2.26 pitch. 🐠

This stuff is gold. Just tried the 3 blade on my v2 and im liking it. Something im curious about is if you noticed your stock stinger getting really hot. I was switching props and when i touched mine, it was to hot to touch longer then a second. I took it all apart at the house checking the bushing and regreasing everything. I followed your vid on the bj42 with the heat issue in the tube, but the swv2 is not quite the same set up. I spun er up a quarter throttle and within ten seconds, it was getting to hot to touch again. I havent a clue what to do next or is this just normal? Thanjs

I'd go with the castle creations x8s that's the BEST esc for this boat, second best is a hobbywing 180. Smc hcl-hp 6500 & 7600mah 150c are perfect for Bashing. I've run larger 9500mah packs but it's almost to heavy which in turn slows the boat and heats things up

Possibly the trim on your boat, if it's running to wet/deep in the water it'll cause extra drag, causing excessive temps. Easy fix is to trim the boat up a few turns on the trim tabs is a good starting point also moving cog back. Trim it up far enough it stays in the water.

Stiller! THE radios? I think ,they are water resistance, but don't make great submarines. MY first day on the lake, with my Black Jack 24? Flamed a defective 30A ESC. , and my controller got rained on. AND poofed. P.S, not covered under warranty. 3 Radios later , and some major , mods, and "Battle Scars," it's still afloat four years later. We had shared some info, via Email, and you have some great videos, and and you also had discussed your great section of props, and was also explaining why I was having issues with some stock props. I went to low lift "Generic prop," but I also lost all of my top speed. I'm thinking of going with a balanced and sharpened Prathar 215. On paper, it should run out fine. I was just wondering , if you had and experience with that prop. Especially on the Black Jack 24 Or, if you had a better suggestion? I am basically running Black Jack 29 Hardware, so , I am not sure, if I could even go beyond a 40mm. prop? Your advice, would be greatly appreciated. THX, Mark.

Very similar in look to the tfl 3519 (or is it the 3419?) 4mm prop.... I've owned a couple 1.9 p props, and your right they look nothing alike. You kinda confirmed my thoughts. Thanks

@@IRONCLADRC Some of your tested props has a better performance if you would eliminate lift by changing strut angle. Eliminate lift makes the boat run dryer because the pressure on the bow is reduced. this in turn reduces the current and thus the temperature and of course increases the speed. So adjust strut angle (and trim tabs if available) with each prop. then every prop has a "fair" chance to show what he can do.

These props require balancing and finishing. Price: $9.95. THE price is definitely right? IT's COPPER, so what about durability? I'm going from Balanced Stainless steel, to this? THE pitch , is definitely more radical, and is actually higher than the Black 29 prop. Interesting . THE only caveat, is they aren't finished, and I don't the time to get them "tuned."
