I tried this recipe and honestly it was beyond my expectation! And I reckon it was authentic and quite close to non vegan version of jjamppong. The ginger was definitely an excellent kick. Thank you chef Atulya!

YW! Thank you for sharing. I was really trying to capture that Jjamppong flavor I grew up eating. 😊
I just made your 15 minutes teriyaki udon noodles. It was awesome. Already made the recipes multiple times and my family loves it. Will make this recipe as soon as i get the ingredients :)

Really glad I found your channel. I am plant based, and find myself eating more Asian inspired foods! American food relies so heavily on meat, that they are tasteless without it. You make the dishes so accessible to people who know very little about preparing them. Thank you🙏🏻 I really appreciate you showing the brands you prefer, as the Asian market can be so hard to navigate. There are usually many different types and brands of the same thing, and hard to choose just one.

Thank you for your feedback. Yes, it can be so intimidating with so many different brands and not all brands are equal. It’s even a hit and miss for me sometimes with certain products, so if I find something that works well, I love sharing it with you guys! 😊
I am a big fan of your recipes!

Hi Atulya, may I know how come you don't use garlic in your jjamppong recipe? Seen many recipes online where they use both garlic and ginger but realised yours don't.

Hi! I don't cook with onions, garlic, or any other alliums for my meditation practice, hence I don't have them in my recipes. You'd be surprised how delicious food can taste without onions and garlic. But feel free to add them if you like the taste! :-)
Can u show how to make vegan gochuchang kalguksu
How many people does this recipe serve? I want to make this recipe for my family which is 6 people.

It serves about 3-4. You can always stretch the recipe to serve more by adding more liquid; you'll also need to amp up the seasonings a little bit to adjust the taste.
Poygobeoseot / pyogobeoseos (표고버섯) korean name for black forest mushroom/oak mushroom 🙋♂️
Are both those brands of noodles vegan?

Yeah I use Korean fresh noodles and it’s usually just flour, water
Why not cook the noodles in the soup to absorb the flavor, seasoning the noodles?
@chefatulya

That’s a great question! These raw type of noodles have a lot of excess starch on them so if you cook them into the soup directly, your broth will get starchy and murky.

It's not cooked that way🤷♂️same with pasta because of the starch.
Can u name all the ingredients
