Gem and I recently did our grocery shopping at budget supermarket Aldi and were extremely surprised by the quality, range and price of some of their vegan products!

I'm Paul Kerton, a former Personal Trainer and Vegan Nutritionist, I am now a full-time Social Media influencer. Not so long ago, in a misguided attempt to try and grow muscle as quickly as possible, I ended up eating more animal products than probably anyone you've ever met. Through research, I came to learn the deleterious effects that eating even quite trivial amounts of animal products has on one's health and through personal experience, I found that far from being a hindrance to sports performance, a well planned vegan diet is actually optimal! Then with an open heart, I looked at how we treat animals in order for them to end up on our plates and it shook me to the core. I could not believe that for so long I fell for the lies that others tell us, that we tell ourselves, in order that we perpetuate this destructive behaviour. Destructive to ourselves, the beautiful, intelligent sentient beings that are here with us and indeed our very planet. To try and put right my part in all of this I was compelled to overcome my fear of being filmed for KZread and television, appearing on the radio and more recently public speaking. On a spiritual level, I've come to realise that my fellow man too is suffering. If I won't see harm come to a chicken I've never met then why would I be unkind to my brother man? If someone is being aggressive or unkind toward me, surely the suffering inflicted on them in the past is simply spilling over? Do I want to add to that, or can I step out of my ego long enough to forgive them and maybe break the cycle of negativity? This former, quick to anger "meat-head" bouncer has been on one transformative journey!

I heard Aldi are going to display their vegan products with a logo stating they are vegan, hope I heard right ✌

I am from Berlin, Germany and I can confirm, that it is not so funky here with Aldi shopping. But they have vegan ice cream now. (I normally order in a bulk from amazon all the grains and legumes.)
Wish our Aldi stores in the states had as much a selection of vegan items and the grains and such.
A while back I found British quinoa in home bargains for 39p for 300g. Bought as much as I could carry lol
You definitely have more variety at your Aldis then here in America!! However that's where I shop all the time. The best deals
I love Aldi! The ones near me in the US don't have as many healthy choices as yours, but it's getting better! I always go for the chia seeds and fresh fruit/veg - their salad options are fantastic! Can't beat the prices either. This is the first video of yours I've watched, and love it! Thanks!
Wow, the Aldis we have here in New York does not look like the Aldis by you. Yours is alot better.

I don't know whether there are better options where you live but Aldi has a horrible record on treating their workers miserably and using their massive leverage to force producers to cut prices which in turn pressures them to underpay their workers. Their low prices have a high social cost. So I would not recommend shopping there when you can afford better places that treat their workers and producers better.
I would love to see this variety in a german Aldi ... Sadly at the moment we are still far behind ...
Nice! You've convinced me it might be worth a trip for some bulk stuff. The supermarkets are waking up to the demand it's awesome.

holy crap, I didn't think Aldi would be such a paradise. 2 years ago I was in an Aldi (in Germany) and it was far from this awesomeness.
It was great to see you looking over the ingredients lists and making purchase decisions accordingly.

My shopping is done in various Mexican owned markets. You get a lot of ethnic foods there.
@UncleJ2058

Every Mexican market I know of is basically a meat market with a bunch of fruit and produce in front of the store. Well, that is what most other markets are anyway. Mexican markets can have a good and interesting selection of fruits and other plant foods (beans, nuts, etc.) that are often cheaper.
Thanks for the video! We have an Aldi just a few minutes away from work, and hadn't even thought about going in there. Will be taking a look tomorrow.
I also shop at Aldi now for most of my weekly shop, but thanks for all the inspirational blogs. I've only been Vegan since January the first this year and your blogs have helped. Am now back trading after a four year absence. And again thanks for inspiration Paul.
I just went in my local Lidl and couldn't find anything decent, so rewatched this video and realized it was Aldi, oops.
Hench, loving your stuff. Vegan for 4 months and loving it. Keen to go more whole foods so will be watching and hoping for more tips on how to do it. Great work. Thank you.
Your Aldi offers way more items than here in Australia
Just found your channel, you're both so fun and easy to watch. Gemma, you're beautiful, such a great, example of how healthy veganism is for us ladies ♡ from the US :)
I have seen so many posts about Aldi and vegan/healthy food. I definitely need to check it out. Great video!
I Used to always shop at Tesco but recently moved and there is an Aldi close by and I was surprised how much I save shopping there now, it's amazing!
We shop in Aldi in Norwich (Sprowston) and a couple of weeks found the tri coloured quinoa - made an awesome stuffed pepper soup with it which was delicious and filling. They are closing on Thursday 14th September for a week for a refit.
Hahaha, love the Dr. Evil reference! I use it when discussing store pricing with my husband too 😄
After watching I went to my local Aldi in Bracknell, and it was all TRUE . Amazing. Bought loads of stuff. I will definitely use it in future.
in england you can buy buckwheat pasta and tricolor quinoa at aldi? well, seems like the food industry in good old germany wants us to die earlier. here you won't find 99% of the healthy products you showed in this video. at least we got gluten free pasta lately lol..
In the Netherlands we not only have Aldi but also Lidl in the low budget range. The Lidl got several prices for have the best fruit and vegetables of all supermarkets in our country. Thanks for the video!
I’ve recently cut meat out out of my diet due to having braces and the pure thought☹️ I think that Sainsbury have quite a large vegetarian/vegan section especially on the dairy side. There’s lots of yummy alternatives such as milk, yogurts, butter and ice cream!
Great video!!! Really helps. Thank you. Love you guys x
Really informative.. I'm on a low income so health food shops are just too expensive for me, so I end up compromising values.. So Really Great to learn what to buy !! Thank You Both !!
New subscriber who is almost vegan ( just got to cut the cheese out) who runs and former trained figure competitor who is finding that cutting out most animal based foods is reaping huge rewards. Never felt better and the biggest changes I have seen are in my skin and I appear to have lost my short temper. Aldi is definitely the place to go. They are starting to branch out into organic options aswell.how did we ever manage without it??? Really enjoyed your video!!
WOW! 👀 I'll be heading over to my local Aldi - this video was super helpful!!!😍 Tfs!!!
This has to be the most amazing looking aldis I have ever seen😍😍😍😍
I am a big fan of Aldi chain here in the USA. Depending on which store/area you shop the vegan/whole food options vary but there are options in every store. If you guys are ever shopping in the states, you need to hit up a Trader Joe's (which is own buy Aldi). That is my prime resource for healthy food shopping on a budget. Cheers!
Love Aldi's but here in the states we don't have many of the products you have shown. I have noticed more and more whole food products each time I go. I guess we need to catch up. Thanks for all of your help and support, I have been vegan for 11 months and have never felt better. Keep up the great work.
We were at aldi yesterday. They just reopened the store. It was so awesome. The produce looked sooooo much better. We only spent $55 and got a lot of stuff we usually have to spend twice as much for
I do love an Aldi grocery shop. They always have great deals. I did a grocery haul video at our local ding and dent store and found some good stuff. Discount stores are the best!
Love Aldi I go in with just getting a few things end up with two shopping bags full.really good for as I live on my own and can fill the fridge and cupboards for the month
Aldi's have never, ever had that great of options where I lived. It was never that cheap. It's really hard for me to wrap my head around your shopping trip. I'm glad for you guys to have all of those nice options. 👍👌
They have a really good section full of falafels, bean salads, lassi drinks, wraps etc. I had Mango/Earl Grey tea drink, Moroccan falafels (99c for a tray of nine pieces,) Little Gem lettuce, and Mint and Pea soup for supper. All very tasty. Soup is livened ocht a dash of white wine - Aldi do a really good pinot grigio white for under 7euros .
We do Aldis here in the US as well. Love their prices and selection of foods we went WFPB a while back and Aldis has been a treat.
This is awesome now i know what to get in aldi and i live right across it sooo handy thank youu 🤗🤗🤗
This is such a helpful video me and my boyfriend are thinking about going vegan but not too sure what our Aldi would sell that we would be able to eat! Turns out quite a lot! Will look out for these next time I go shopping!
What a great article. I have been buying this stuff at Aldi and it is good. They sell very cheap raw organic coconut oil too. Just to let you know that Lidls do a very comprehensive and cheap range of nuts, if you're passing one give it a look. All the best to you vegan peops!
Good video, you both covered Aldis' vegan selection well. Made the same switch myself last year as I was constantly amazed by the low cost of a full cart, typically around £35 give or take, whereas in Tesco it would push to £50. Lidl also worth checking out, although they are a little more expensive imo on some things, they carry different product lines that complement each other. Vegan for the win baby! 🍏✌️💪👊💥
ive been using Aldi and Lidl for years - I'd say they have different strengths. aldi's fresh fruit and veg have always been strong but i i noticed a few months ago that they introduced quite a chunky vegan section at amazing prices. found seeded peanut butter today - without palm oil! i was a bit srunned. dead hard to get nut butter in main supermarket without P.O. and usually a premium price. This was pretty modest 😚 love it.
I live in Rural New Zealand deeeeeep in the South Island, farming community. Our supermarket has heaps of vegan choices.... The choices are a bit slimmer in the cafes but it's still attainable. I get by with no problems what so ever. Peace, Love and Unity...
I live in Northeast United States, and they’ve just remodeled our Aldi here and they have brought in new vegan options! It’s awesome, because compared to places like Giant Eagle, Whole Foods, Earth fare, and Acme I’ve found that Aldi is much much cheaper.
There is meant to be an aldi coming to our town soon/one day. If so I might start shopping there I can't believe it's that cheap. We currently do most of our shopping at our local farm shop. They aren't organic but they try to buy and use less pesticides and fertilisers on their foods. Great video guys and isn't it always the way, the sales assisitant interrupts the vlog when your talking. Tut, tut! ;-))) xxx
I'm an aussie and usually shop at woolworths.I was surprsied at the cheap vegan range.I have to have tofu and lots of green vegetables. And brown lentils.I love trying different mixed green salad bags and new spices.A vegan junk would be organic vegan corn chips for when I make lentil nachos.Sometimes a new vegan cheese not very often.
Omg! What a variety! Bring all of the cool stuff to Florida!
We shop at Aldi here in upstate NY. We save about $400 a month for our family of 5. They've got a freezer section for all sorts of vegan burgers. They're processed, but great in a pinch.
I'm here in the Missouri, USA and my Aldi doesn't have most the items you are showing. Wow I love your Aldi.

Director STL I’m in St Louis and I went to the Aldi near me and there wasn’t much there either and while they did have produce most of it was in rough shape or went bad very quickly after I bought it.
I shop at Aldi frequently. They have great products for awesome prices. I certainly hope they keep upping the variety (Vegan and Gluten free especially). You have so many more and different options in the UK than we have in the US but it's getting better all the time :)
Here in the U.S. Sprouts Farmers Market, Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods Market are good for most items, while there are smaller locally owned health food stores, and real farmers markets on weekends in most cities during growing season.
Great video! We did a trip to Aldi recently too. Stupidly, we asked for permission to film instore, and was told to phone customer services who said we weren't allowed. We wish we'd just gone ahead and done it on the sly with our iPhones! Ha! It's a shame they're not more enthusiastic about letting us all shout about it as their vegan range was pretty good! Keep up the good work! Love your channel.

Ignore us! Ha! It was Lidl we went to, not Aldi. We'll have to check out Aldi now!
The Aldi in my town in Ohio just started increasing their vegan options. They even have Beyond Burgers now! (I dont tend to like processed stuff like that, but as a special occasion kind of thing they are nice.) I hope they keep on that trend.
I literally had this very same realisation about a week ago! Pleasantly surprised!
Aldi is the main supermarket in my town centre. Knowing there are so many vegan options is going to help me go from veggie to vegan.
Aldi is a must, mine is shut at moment for refurbishment and it's costing me a fortune for soya milk at sainsburys. Think it's only 59p at aldi. Best range of organic UK grown veg anywhere in Aldi, the price of organic broccoli is cheaper than the regular broccoli at most other supermarkets, quality pretty good also.
I'd LOVE it if we had one in San Antonio. The one thing I miss about North Texas aside from the occasional snow.
We love Aldi in Melbourne, Australia too. So many vegan options much cheaper than the other two major supermarkets.
My girlfriend and I always shop in Aldi here in New York and it’s growing so much of variation of Veganism 🙏🙏😀😀👏🏻👏🏻🤙🤙😃😃👍😎
Aldi on the Costa del Sol Spain is good price wise and choice, however one has to search down all the isles, they aren't clearly labeled nor in sections. They also persimmon called kaki there. Not been to one here in UK for a long while will go again and check.
I also get vegan stuff in aldi quite often, I'm so glad supermarkets are changing for the better now
Awesome. I wish our Aldi's here in the USA had tons of vegan choices like your store.
I basically use Morrisons, Co-op, Holland & Barrett, Grapetree and Aldi. Our Morrisons just had a major shift round and has put all (most) of its free from and/or vegan stuff in one place - so that makes it easier. They also have a really good vegan freezer food offer. I prefer shopping in Sainsbury's though because there isn't the incessant moozac. And Waitrose tends to have fewer bratty screaming kids running around (almost worth the premium prices).
Great finds!
Aldi is a german grocery store and i'm actually really jealous because here in germany they do have a lot of vegan products (which they write on the package) but not nearly as cool products as you showed! i'm moving to the uk on sunday so i'm excited !!
I just started going to aldi. This is a great video YaaY!
The stuff that appeared a couple of weeks ago in the functional food section is so unbelievably cheap compared to Holland & Barretts or other chains. They had ground linseed forever but the new stuff, I wonder if they raise the prices when they realize how popular it is. I have not seen the hemp and pea protein powders though, will go tomorrow and check for it.
New subbie here. Found you in my recommended. Great content! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Aldi here in Australia in the last year have upped the quaility of there vegan products and made them so cheap and have been getting alot more😍
I shop at aldi when I just need a few bits and pieces. Sometimes I order online from Tesco when they have some nice discounts. Last few weeks ive been living off mainly galia melons 69p(offer ended) and bananas. New offer at Tesco is half price mangoes 49p each and avocados 49p(for the next 2 weeks). I stocked up on 100 mangoes for £49 which I will freeze for smoothies when they ripen up. Also I will freeze lots of avocado for guacamole salad dressing while they are so cheap.
I love a good Aldi haul, the avocados are always on point 🥑 love the raw brownie bars too so much nicer and cheaper than naked ones, also their maca powder and tricolour quinoa 👍👍👍
Hi just wanted to say thank you I have put on a lot of muscle and feel great thanks for your your videos you are the best. Thank you
OMG am freakin Ou..came straight here after commenting on BT's channel, and your frkin views man...break out the champagne!..currently as I type you are at 49,335 views...OOOh yes. wll done. so happy for you.
I am a new vegan (converted same time as my son), but I have been shopping at Aldis for ages now. At the same time I changed to vegan, they began repackaging some products and have introduced some new vegan products, which has made the transition a lot easier. A couple of things I like are the vegan sausages. They sounded pretty awful from the description - one made from butternut squash and red pepper, the other based on cauliflower. I had my doubts until I tried them and both are really, really good. Another thing I like is the range of hummus (houmous?) As well as the plain type, there are a couple of different flavours: red pepper and Moroccan. (I think they have a bit of oil in them).
I had no idea Aldi was outside of the Midwest. It's been a while since I was at Aldi, but they had none of that stuff there then. Going to check them out.
Aldi is actually my favourite supermarket as a vegan living in the UK everything you bought is in my cupboard!
oh wow. my local Aldi's already have a wide aray of cheap vegan products, but that one is amazing!
Hoping that some of these things will be moving to my small town US Aldi! But, they do have wonderful produce at low prices, so that's a big start!
Aldi for me too. There are a couple of bits in Co-Op and where and when I can . I try to be as organic as possible
Hi . This is the first one of your videos I've watched great job 👍 Subscribed 👍
Thanks for vid , of to aldi tomorrow 💪🏽
I wish we had those foods in our USA Aldi.

I work at an Aldi in the United States, I wish we had as many healthy vegan options that you do!!
Brilliant video. I'm definitely going to Aldi. I used to go a few years ago but haven't been for a while. I don't eat quite as healthy as you two, so would enjoy some of the processed stuff and snacks too...Freda
we love Aldi's market but here in USA they don't have a nice big store like you showed us. Yours looks awesome!!
Love watching your videos. Just noticed Gemma has a vegan tattoo in the same place as me too ahah
I wish our Aldi had food like that! They have a few healthy basics, but nothing like what you showed. I'm in the US. Oklahoma.

I miss having an ALDI close by. The closest location is 176 miles away in Georgia USA. I can't believe how much vegan items they've added! New subscriber BTW.
I've never shopped at Aldi. Thanks for sharing.
I’m in the UK and due to the difference in price do most of my vegan food shops at Aldi or Lidl. Their fruit and veg beats the big supermarkets by miles.
I am pretty jealous of all your fab plant based food ...i havent seen blueberrier for months, possibly a year..and kale..if only..is the whole of the UK like this now?.I find it fascinating..the shift in our diets. Living in the sticks is great..dont get me wrong but oh to have such a delicious and splendid choice as you guys do, and sooo cheap! am well jell. lol
