I forgot, I am vegetarian, not vegan, and I use the same beefless crumbs she used on the video. I recently discovered the vegetarian fresh ground beef, it looks so real, it looks like the real hamburger meat, but it is made of plants. I get it at Walmart for $4.99. It takes very much like a hamburger, and the texture too.

so often my sarcasm gets me into trouble...I do apologize. I'm just frustrated when I see something that looks delicious and I can't locate a key ingredient. :(

So I found frozen "crab" at my local Asian market. I wanted to tell you how I made a fantastic sandwich and if you like it, maybe inspire you to make a video! I thawed the vegan crab, tossed them in potato starch, dusted them off and fried them in a 1/2 inch of oil. Drained them and made a sandwich using my favorite roll and vegan mayo. Scrumptious and easy! -Mike
looks so delicious! could you use a gluten free substitute for the wheat starch? i have used super fine rice flour.
Omg i just made these theyre so yummy! Lots of work tho! And i used konyaku cos vegan prawns are so expensive. The wrappers are hard to work with, they kept tearing. I used a mixture of potato starch and tapioca flour instead of just potato, is there a way to make the wrapper so it doesnt tear? Thanks so much for this recipe 💗💗
Also got a great question for you. How do I kill the strong soy flavour in TVP? Currently heavy sauce like vegan mayo or marinara with seasoning seems to do it, but other than that I don't know how to remove the strong soy taste. Maybe blanching it in hot water? What is your suggestion. Also I just have to recommend mushroom seasoning! It is msg basically, but it tastes soooo much better than crystalline msg. It is also called vegetable seasoning I'm pretty sure. I'd love to see some your creativity in using it!

Going to Necro bump an old thread because I heard about vegan crab. Have you tried lion's mane mushrooms, or "monkey's head" from an Asian grocery store? Sauce stache did a video on vegan crab cakes using that. Is that something you would be interested in knowing my thoughts about? I have the mushrooms but haven't had the wherewithal to do anything with them yet. Maybe this will speed up your shrimp journey.

Vegan pork & shrimp? They're just empty carbs. What's the point? As if they can be easily found in grocery stores. Just use more veggies.
