The cost just killed 3/4 of buyers.

I think a 9.9 outboard and a good old fashioned jon boat would be cheaper and more modable. The things tiny boat nation is doing to them is out of this world.

Cheaper 100%. My 16 foot with a 25hp Yamaha cost less than this thing brand spankin' new. I see the advantage of the design, but a plastic boat with a small motor should be cheaper, not 13K.

Your professional analysis is always on target. Honest and specific, well received by those of us that are not mechanically inclined but love boating. Please keep them coming.

Nice boat but price is to high for what you are getting and what is out there for a lot less!

I think the comment about re-entering the boating market is spot on. Right now I have a big center console and a kayak, and haven't used either in over 2 years. Small and simple with no paddling, and no climbing in and out of a big boat to load and unload, could put this old man back on the water. I wish you would post some specs on the electric motor like battery life.

I have been looking at jon boats including some of the lower cost ones for next year. This looks very interesting. All the positives you list are spot on. But I agree that a lack of a trolling motor mount on the bow is a minus. I have also noticed it is currently only sold as a package with either the Mercury 9HP or Avatar Electric. I would prefer to get it without a motor as the E-propulsion Spirit motor is much more versatile and cheaper than the Mercury Avatar. Thanks for the review!

I have a LT25 Gheenoe, but if this VEER had a spot on the stern a mini-power anchor, a place on the bow for a Minn Kota trolling motor, I would have purchased one.

I was interested, till the price. Geez... 12k... when did that get affordable? You can buy a really decent used boat well under 1/2 of that with a 40 on it. It a new jon boat and 9.9 for under 5k.

@@adamdahlin6025 agreed, prices are crazy high on everything. 6 months or so to maybe a big pullback coming... stuff got too high, too fast. 70s spirals were forgotten...lessons disregarded. But... enjoy your boat! 👍

They are leaving the trolling motor mounting to someone else. They should have designed an option to add one. Just as well. I may have ordered one and then had to find a place to store it. Two bass fishing boats and two kayaks.

ps....YOU COUULD HAVE PUT A MINN KOTA RAPID MOUNT and wiring port on the front side and you'd have had a better product

My only issue is the engine mounted tiller a simple stick on the side with cables to turn the motor will let you sit facing forward or standing up sitting off to see side to hold the tiller is awkward

If you would’ve made it eight grand you could not produce enough of them. We are all for you guys making profit but the boat itself should be about 3500 with plenty of profit the motor $1000 the trailer 1000 or $1500 and $1000 for shipping it to the distributors could’ve made plenty of money, and everyone would love to have it, but very few will be willing to pay this cost.

We agree. We think soon there will be after market trolling motor mounts and other accessories.

I have a 14ft jon with a 6hp backwater mud motor. Grab bar is the only mod i had to do. $1800 all in and i feel like its already paid for itself in fun factor and ive had it 4 months. Small boat buyers are small budget buyers usually and extremely value conscious. This misses a lot of marks.

Sounds like you have a great set up.

I owned a 14 foot semi vee fiberglass boat. It was a Glastron I guess from the 1960's. I can attest that this size boat is perfect for solo ventures or with a fishing buddy. Yall have hit a home run on this price point. I may bucket list this boat. Happy Fishing!

Ahhh🤔 it’s to expensive, can this boat be made from reclaimed plastic to bring the price down ,the manufacturer could almost get the plastic for free , their investment would be a chipper to make the reclaimed plastic into pellet sized material.

$11,995 does not include trailer. Trailer is optional. I'd played with the figure at their website tried to build one

Looks cool, especially with Mercury electric. But price is way too high, particularly with electric outboard. And size and weight necessitates treating it like a regular boat (trailer, boat ramp, storage, etc.) but with much less capability. Get an inflatable Saturn Kaboat for an order of magnitude less money, more portability and storage options, more payload, and better performance from a small outboard.

That sounds like a great plan.

If this cost 8000 dollars with the trailer, they would sell WAY more of them. Veer needs to do an economic analysis and realize that they are shooting themselves in the foot here. There are alternative options out there that are simply superior at this price point.

$16,000 with the electric motor option is not affordable for a boat like this by any stretch of the imagination. Anyone who buys a new boat during this type of inflation is making a bad move.

Unless they make them affordable, no. This Veer is NOT affordable because those who are in the market to use one of these, instead of an actual boat, don't necessarily have the money to afford one. I could spend less than 1/3 of this price and have a 14 foot boat with the same motor. If I was going to spend this money, I would get a real fishing boat that could take me more places than this thing. The price point is WAY off, even in today's market of ubber expensive boats. VEER isn't in touch with reality.

I don’t see why I would purchase this boat. I could afford it, but the price and amenities are way overboard. Simple boats should be durable and inexpensive. This is a glorified dinghy that a Hatteras owner would justify. A $1,000 alloy boat with some spray in bed liner and some traction tape will suffice. Throw in a rebuilt tiller motor for $1500 and it’s fit for a king. New outboard motors are ridiculously expensive.

This is nice but lite skiff is gonna wipe the floor with these since they come without a outboard for $3500. I would rather bring my own outboard.

$12K! Basic boat. You’re kidding me?

I'm not impressed with the price vs a 16ft jon boat, plus the closest dealer is far away. not worth the price for the drive to go pick up

@@Sea-Bassit’s simply way too much money for what is provided. This boat should cost 8000 dollars. Including the trailer and motor. It’s whole claim to fame is that it’s hull is made using a very inexpensive molding process, but they are charging more than an all welded aluminum Jon boat hull would cost. If they lowered the price they would lose money for a little bit, but they would sell like 4 times as many of them so eventually they would make serious money.

Highway robbery. How much is the boat without the motor???? T-track mounted sideway instead of from the top of the rail for enhance weight durability. No predrilled holes for wiring harnesses. Nowhere to mount a monitor on the front of the bow. Not a good fishing boat.
