Hi, I simply used a triplanar projection of a mega scans texture of some rock/cliff. Triplanar because it has some options to blend and break the repetition of a texture. Cheers.

Amazing tutorial! I'm just having issues making any strong noise patterns without making gaps in the volume... it seems as if I need to tone down the effect of my noises to the point where they are nigh-on de-activated to avoid breaking the volume. I'd love to make deeper cuts into the rock and rougher surfaces, but alas it keeps making gaps. Do you have any ideas as to how i can work around these limitations?

hey, did you check "fill interior" in the vdb from polygons? That can help. Cheers

When I connect the first chain with noise in VolumeVOP, I get a flat one instead of a three-dimensional model. Or it disappears altogether. What could this be related to?

Not sure, but could be related to the vdb settings, fill interior for instance? You can always have a look at the file, I can't really tell why would it look 2D honestly . Cheers

at the end of the volume vop you need to use an add node. -from volume vop global node plug the density to the first input into the new add node. - plug the end of the noise ( mult const) into the second input of the add node - plug the sum from the add node into the volumevopoutput node/density entry
