Vauxhall made some big changes when it replaced the old Vectra Estate with the Insignia Sports Tourer. While the Vectra was a big, chunky estate car, the Insignia sacrifices some of its practicality for sleek and sporty looks. The sloping tailgate and sharp styling make this one of the most attractive estates around. Over long distances it's comfortable and the ride is smooth. The selection of trim levels and engines is vast, but petrol models suffer high fuel consumption and aren't as cost-effective as the diesels.

I'm sorry but I don't get you british and your obsessions with 'fun to drive'.In a sportscar yes, after all you bought it for that reason, but in a big, heavy family car not so much...I mean in the real world you spend 90% of your time in town or on the motorway,so I would have a soft, comfortable car any day of the week over one that breaks your back everytime you hit a pothole.

Well said! I'm British and have never wanted a sporty ride. Comfort wins out for me every time.

I think it a car reviewer thing. Watch 5th Gear and they take all cars around a track. Pointless, boardering on insanity. A car that's good on a track is probably not good for everyday driving.
One of nicest review you've made CB's team!!! Made very nice atmosphere there and wanting have this over all other estates :)
lol... "it's like a German car"... it is a German car.

if you want to assert that it's american at least do it properly... it looks like a Buick Regal... well GM owns Opel, so they rebadged the Insignia to Regal... in the UK/Australia it is Vauxhal Insignia

Holden Malibu in Australia.
I have no idea why she takes the headrests off to put down the back seats. This is absolutely NOT necessary! I have owned an Insignia Sports Tourer Elite Nav since it's launch in 2009, and those rear seats simply collapse with headrests in place. Unless it is the fact she started with the headrests at a ridiculous height and maybe the front seats way back?

She would need the seat well forward.
My dad use to have one of these cars. It was a 2009 Elite model on an 09 reg and we had it from March 2012 until May 2014. I actually miss that car...
Very smart looking car, outside and in. The only puzzling thing is that someone looked at the confusing mess of buttons on the center fascia and decided it was okay to inflict it on unsuspecting drivers.
I have owned a vectra C facelift for 7 years and had absolutely no problem with it ... having it upgraded to 200 BHP - I have reduced fuel consumption - it was drinking less than my neighbors cat .. now I have a facelift insignia sports tourer and I love it - the size, the accessories, the way it "sticks" to the road ... yes - it's not as powerful as my hubbys 700BHP subaru ... but this car was not made for racing - it's a family car with a big booth for descent size shopping, family trips and comfort. It has a voice command operated radio, sat nav and bluetooth; auto lights and it's quiet unlike some car :/.... I had 2 mondeos and ford transit and never again Ford - I would be bankrupt by now if I was to keep them and invest in repairs ... no thank you; I gave up after 1st engine replacement when it was just after manufacturer's warranty - and what has killed it ?... a big end bearing which came off ... so anyone who is praising fords ... has never owned a descent car .... sorry guys just had to say it :/

2 year late reply! I've just bought one and agree with you! 😎 Don't understand the vague steering part she bangs on about, as mine is great to drive!. 195 hp and bags of torque puts a smile on my face too! So glad I didn't buy a beat your neighbour audi or BMW to boost my ego. Lol
The best design and ergonomics i saw to an estate car! Opel/Vauxhall Insignia!!!
She seems to be so cheerful in this review! :)
ford must be paying these clowns a lot of money

Wow, I think this is the sunniest weather I've ever seen her do a review in.
I've got a eco sports tourer 2015 worst mpg 45 in town short cold engine trips, best 60mpg longer trips hot engine ,newer electric power steering is spot on, loads of torque and very comfortable
It is a very good looking estate car i must say. Good Review
Getting one of these hope its good
this is one of those rare moment..that i fall in love...with a CAR!!
What a great looking car. We have this car here in North America as the Buick Regal. We don't get the wagon though, sadly.
This is a beautiful car... I wish I could get this in the states...
She is so wonderful! Like her dresses. Today especially the nice jeans and all that layering ...✨

What about the car now zip up
I agree ! Thank you...
Damn i was disapointed over the new facelifted insignia, i really expected more from a company who succeeded making an estate car look that good...
Such a beautiful...car!
Thank you for that Chris, I was unaware of that. You are quite right. Shame as I think the NZ based ones are not too flash either :(
the tyre pressure monitors are a bloody pain ..i won't miss my Insignia, it also wandered all over the road.
I LOVE THE CRYSTAL MAZE!
fantastic review
Does it come with a full tank and floor matts?
Long time ago , in UK , Opel and Vauxhall are different brand , but in 80s , Opel are discontinued in UK , and Vauxhall start to drop name of its car and share name with German sister , start from Nova (Corsa A) and Cavalier Mk4 (Vectra A)
Great review. Why hasn't Chris Evans got you on the new top gear show with Sabine Schmitz et al seeing as your a Porsche race driver?!.
It is an OPEL with the steering wheel in the wrong place.
@chrisclark1761
6 жыл бұрын
No - Opel's often have the steering wheel in that place.
I agree !
...Speaking of that Ford Mondeo, when are you all gonna test the new 2013 one? We've had them(the Fusions) here in the states for months.
What spec is that. It has all the bells and whistles that you need
WOW...interesting change of pace...we're always the last to get the good stuff...usually.
does insignia sports tourer has a larger boot space than astra sports tourer?
Agreed! That's like her saying Jaguar is Indian because it happens to be owned by 'Tata'. It's still a British originating manufacturer!
But , Mondeo series want to wait over (or less than) 12 month for all-new models , so the facelift of Insignia series are worth to wait...
Please review the Dacia Sandero, I saw the review of it on your website and I am thinking of buying it but I would really appreciate a video review just to make sure that it is the right car for me.
"It's like a german car" Well, it is a german car... replacing the Opel badge with a Vauxhaull one doesn't make it an english car. The whole Vauxhaull brand really annoys me. They are just rebadged Opels and Holdens, why not just call them what they really are?
I love the seat couler
Actually you get RHD Opels here in Ireland.
"Watch this" Moves cup from one holder to the other. Wow. Just wow.
thank you :)
"Its like a german car, but its cheaper!" Can someone tell her vauxhalls are exactly the same as opel´s which is a german brand...
Can some1 please tell me the name of the song used in this video?
Build quality and every thing else well put together than Mondeo.
Belt the nice paint work @4.30 with a suitcase. A mans job clearly.
MY brother has the hatchback its actually a nice car although plagued by a few issues, coolant bottle leaking then needing a sensor, dash rattles (its not well made inside at all) and the rear light is leaking so has water inside. Love that estate looks ideal for my needs.
A very good and beautifull car :)

I know my dad has a 2010 not an estate but it’s a 2.0 SRi and it has 157 bhp and it’s quick
Happy Valentine's Day Rebecca.
True, but the main problem people had is not that it's owned by GM, but that it uses GM's parts... Which, lets be honest, destroyed Opels status and name
the insignia is a well built car. I think the point of the car is that its perfect for cruising on the motor way. I think the insignia is a superb car. the ford mondeo isnt as well built as the vauxhall.
Some years ago, I had a brand new 2litre diesel insignia sports tourer nav, upgraded wheels etc , definitely not built to the best german standards and not capable of pulling the skin off a rice pudding especially going up a hill, my Passat estate is equally as boring but a much better car all round
4:00 made me cringe
the banana test is the most important thing !
in the new estate review Rebecca is allowed to review that while Mat reviews the new saloon.
the banana at 1:39 in the centre front armrest.
why are their lights under the boot? is it a safety thingy? are they lights anyways?
@howyjones6797
4 ай бұрын
Safety as when tailgate is up you still have light's on rear
I knew someone would bring up this argument on anything that is called Vauxhall. Vauxhall was founded in Vauxhall, London in 1857 by a Scottish guy - Alex Wilson. It also happens to be owned by General Motors. So your point?
NICE!
What kind of boot is that??
dear matt and rebecca please can review volvo c70
Most diesel engines that go into Opel/Vauxhall cars are from an Italian company in Cento, Italy owned by Fiat called VM Motori :) ....yea, this is one serious German car :D
Yes, in the us, because models for the us market from brands are built with cheaper materials. The cars in germany are the best quality there is to buy. Tell your Texas workers in BMW to produce better work. I currently drive an AudiQ3 and had always german cars and never had any problems.
In the same class? Maybe the new Mazda 6 or the Vw Passat!
nice view at 1:00 lol ;)

Yes it is a shame, but they would simply be too expensive to import them all, so they open up more and more factories in other countries to make them affordable. But it comes at a price - like i said, they can't use the quality materials from the original version.
I guess it is a very rare comodity !! Like platinum, os something LOL
If you follow on this "just happens to be owned" thought, Vauxhall is actually British and just happens to be owned by GM too...
Can you get three child seats across the back?
that low lid open features are not really practical to me...why don't just attach sensor to detect low roof instead turning knob which located far apart from the lid itself !
I have to agree with weedmastersr here.Basically the idea is about who pays the bills rather then who built it. Just like Chrysler is basically Italian now (Majority shares are owned by Fiat). Just like Mini isn't really British anymore it's German thanks to BMW.Think of them as immigrants their heritage may be be intact but their future belongs to there respected owners and that's more important because they would be dead without them.
She is so beautiful..
3:15 You could of shown how to use that banana while you had the seats down, It would of been the perfect opportunity what with all that space in the back ;))
It's a good review, but there's so many that say the insignia doesn't drive like the mondeo, but the mondeo isn't as pretty as the insignia. Where stateside has Chevy v ford, oz has Holden v ford, our GM v ford comes in the shape of vauxhall. How about just suggesting a car that looks as good as the insignia, but drives like the mondeo, for the same money?
And i have a vw passat no end went wrong
@paulanderson7796
3 жыл бұрын
I had similar problems with a Passat.
The point is: Opel develops these cars 100%, Vauxhal just builds the ones for UK market.
it actually is german car with a british badge, opel is made in germany adn high fuel consumption is due to stupidly heavy weight of this car, its probably around 100-200kg heavier than all of its rivals
Rebbeca is great reviewer. German sedans are too much mainstream.
I think, it is the best estate car in the European market.
2:15 did she said she's a racecar driver?
There's no need to remove the headrests before folding the rear seats! Converting the car to a van couldn't be easier
It's more like "if you like driving pick the Mondeo, but if you can afford better, get anything else and forget the Insignia and the Mondeo"
A lot of my colegs had or have cars like this on use as taxi but it only does 27-29 miles /g . Yes only and is the 2,0 cdti. Not good when a Skoda Octavia does about 39miles/g in the 2,0 tdi. And is cheaper to buy.
I agree with mostly everything you said lol.
...and in the back. Also on the steering wheel. And one is left, one is right drive. Other than that, they're identical.
4:15 wheels are huge!

they love mondeo at carbuyer. it must have been the car of the century at carbuyer cause every estate they test they compare to mondeo or mondeo is better choice. just watch the videos where they test estates, its always mondeo this and mondeo that.
Aaaand the only differenz between Opel and Vauxhall is the Badge in the front.
No no, it's not rotten it's just been well used, That's 1 lucky banana :)
why the passenger in the front doesn't have an arm rest ?

It's like saying that Seat it's a german brand just because VW bought it. No, Seat is a spanish brand wich was bought by germans.
What we talking mpg wise in this estate anyone?
Opel develop these cars 100%? You means the Agilia which is a rebadged Suzuki Splash? Or the Ampera which was created by Americans in the Chevrolet department? Or the Mokka that was originally a Buick? Not to mention Vauxhall also has it R&D department and testing facility that helps developing along side Opel. And no the Vauxhall doesn't build its own cars. Its plant builds the Vivaro van, most of which is exported outside of UK.
Oh my god she's so cute !
If you have to take the headrests off to fold the back seats down, it's no good for me.
It is a nice design, not sure of the interior colour though. It is a better brand than bmw or audi who don't always get it right Vauxhall is underrated. The under dog.
3.25...class
However its the best looking in its class.
Yes she is a very good prof racing driver. Search on google...
