Basically the same problem for all of France's 9.0 jets: they have decent speed and weapons, but these are all outmatched by other jets at their BR, and 9.0 effectively means that every match is at least 9.7 against jets that eat you for breakfast. And because they're not very good at that BR, only skilled players use them and the prices are astronomically high for their actual performance. Pretty much all of France at 9.0 can be skipped over until Gaijin decompresses the BRs (so, never).

Agree,this and the OG french premium is really good in a down tier, you out run everything and have 4 missiles, but F-105s eat you sadly

I just finished grinding through the Israeli Vautours recently and with the recent changes to it (it lost its airspawn by getting bumped up to rank VI). I had okay success with an intruder flight profile: just fly low and fast for the bases. You usually won’t get the first spawn of bases anymore, but you likely will arrive on target right around when the bases respawn, so you should be able to claim the leftovers. Also, the French IIN (late) is a very different beast to the other Vautours: you lose all air-to-ground ordnance and instead get the airspawn back, as well as 2 options for early AAMs: The AA-20 Nords and the Matra R.511 (a first-gen SARH missile) at 8.3.

1. Go to battle 2. Fly 3. Bomb bases 4. Get fisted by SU-7 that is returning to AF 5. Go to hangar 6. Repeat

Aw man, this review hurts, but its so accurate. When the french came out in 2017, I literally speed grinded the techtree just for the Vautours. Its probably top 5, maybe even top 3 of the nicest looking planes for me, so its such a shame its so bad now. At least I had some insane fun when it release at 8.0 before even any supersonics or missiles were a thing. Holy hell, that was such a meme, potentially Vs regular 262s and P-80As... How this mighty beast has fallen.

Yeah ... I grinded out a bunch of the other French jets with the Vautours, but ... it was a different time ...

I just skipped passed these because if you want to use a attack plane for when the IDF gets added you have far superior CAS planes both below and at it's BR with better guided and unguided bombs

I remember back when the Vautour was first added and there weren't any supersonics or AAMs in game. this thing used to dominate back when you could use this as an interceptor and catch MIG-17s, CL-13s, MIG-15s, and F-86s just taking off. how all variants are still at 9.0 makes no sense to me.

Vautour is actually a French word mean trash in English

ngl I thought it was a bit of a missed opportunity on Gaijin's part to have made the initial Premium Vatour's replacement yet another Vatour. They should have gone with one of the many wacky prototypes for the mirage; like the Balzac V or the Mirage III V. Yes they were merely prototypes that lacked even basic weaponry but at the same time they were so unique within what France explored during the period they could have been a big draw for more people to buy a premium french jet.

The Vautour that shot down the Hawker hunter in 1967 was a model IIA, No.17, nickname "Panther".

Ty I wanted this review so much ^^ Unfortunately it is hard to stay alive in the vautour nowdays it has huge repair cost cost 36k to spawn in sim and get destroyed by mig21 it is a pain in the ass sadly I love this plane but the game punishes it

I have a MUCH easier time in the bomber version, since it can at least reliably put some bombs on a target before getting smoked. The IIN was a pretty bad experience.

The point of the II N was to have a radar to guide SARH missiles and have aim assist. Gaijin completely removed aim assist for everyone I understand. But the R511 SARH (7km max range) should have been added to give it a bit of competitiveness

The DRAC 25A radar could not guide the R511 Missile...the DRAC 32A was specifically designed to do so. The Vautour IIN originally came with the 25 model when produced but was soon upgraded to the 32 model. Premium IIN must be in its brand new configuration in the 1950s

With Radars there are 2 distinct spectrums for banding...Frequency and Wavelength. X Band and I band are both between 5 and 3cm wavelength...Gaijin is not incorrect. IEEE Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers use the Frequency spectrum whilst NATO uses Wavelength

The fate of low performance jet bombers/attackers in War Thunder is a bleak one, unfortunately. Attack bases, artillery, and vehicles until you're shot down, that's about all you can do.

@@TimsVariety War Thunder has quite a few jets that don't fit their real life profile when it comes to equipment. As you said in your review of it, the Nesher is a great example of that too. Incorrect radar and lack of ballistic computer is becoming a common problem.

Great review, never lose interest in your channel

the only thing it can do well is alpha strike on strike aircraft like the A10, A4s, and planes like that. You get a high spawn and 4 AAMs. You keep your altitude, and dive down on the strike aircraft once you pass over them. They wouldn't expect someone to strike from above so early in the game, but that's about it. If those people even have a small amount of awareness, they'll see you coming and play defensively, even possibly taking you out in the process. This is not a good plane by any means.

Basically if your maxed out on the deck speed wise thing can’t dodge an aim-9b you actually have to slam your airbrake out and turn or it’ll eat that missile

I really love smaller twin engine bomber like this.. i like this one.. even without a bomb sight i do fairly well i dont understand the hate but ive also been getting alot of downtiers dont understand why

hah this video i’m not agreeing with You, lad Of course, flying this as a fighter is really not advisable, yet (since i love using planes that are not intended as fighters as said fighters) the Vautour can pose a serious threat. When used as a pure energy fighter and maintaining the speed at over 800-900, this is basically an inpursuable aircraft that only missiles can reach. Nothing (except supersonics that really ruin Vautour’s gameplay) can climb at such speeds and it should be used in combat.

I just bought the Mi9rage IIICJ in 10.0 but without counters I am afraid to give it a chance and place it on a crew slot. In test flight I saw it got some radar warning what is sweet but I don't thing it's near to be enough. What do you think about that one?

@@TimsVariety Good to hear! You are far the best source to learn about these things. Other Top BR jet KZreadrs are a wee too snob for my taste. You are way more authentic and informative.

They really need to give it a bombsight or bomb computer. But overall, BR decompression would be the only true fix. Maybe 8.7 would be more appropriate, though.

Got any plans to review the A-4N? I'm grinding that way right now, would like to hear your thoughts on it.

Almost identical, except the loadouts are a bit different - it gets the Nord MCLOS missiles (air to air, and air to ground) instead of the Shafrir-1. Otherwise, its the same plane - same handling, still no bomb sight or ballistics computer.

I feel so bad for Vautour mains, I just fly down and just dump a missile on them. Never cease to make me laugh when I feel like shit.

If you go into settings you should be able to change it in air battle settings

I do feel like you did it it a little bit dirty based on the fact that even though you called it a non-dogfighter, you still tried to dogfight without showing the actual boom and zoom strategy that actually works (sometimes). Not saying it's good (it is terrible, hard to even use it ironically) , just saying that if you're lucky enough to be in a down tier, you can be completely untouchable if you keep up your speed. Really, the Vautour is kinda like a worse F-104A: Never turn and you'll be just fine until you see something that can do your one thing better.

@@TimsVariety I swear I must be the only person that had a great time in the J7. I tended to use it with the bombs in a multirole loadout and it worked fairly well.

5:52 do not shot like that, those 30mm only need 2 or 3 shots for kill that AAA.

Love your videos but I dont understand why you talk about landing. Only very large bombers are more complicated to land. But Its ok, since you dont lose much time dedicated to this topic. Thanks for your nice videos 👍
