This is not a Liberal government, it is a Socialist government. I'm all for helping others, but I should be the one who decides who to help. That is how societies determine their own culture. People would also be much more willing to help or donate to causes they believe in when they have more of their hard earned money. The government is forcing people to pay for things they don't agree with, which causes discontent. They are trying to force the culture of the country through policies and legislation. This makes everyone unhappy.

Fun fact, 50% of Ontario is employed by the gov't. The other 50% pays for them. Yes, the thousands in income tax per month is paying for some gov't workers mortgage and car payment - I know mine was before I went back to self employment

In fact, I have NO money left for extras at the end of the month. I don’t know what I’m going to do when my mortgage comes up for renewal at a much higher interest rate. I’ve actually started considering selling my home and buying a small RV to live in when the time comes. Bloody scary times

This is insanity. After a decade of post secondary education and hard work. You get to become not only a doctor, you also all of a sudden become a small business owner if you have a practice. The Minister wants to blame and gaslight Canadians, speaking about the Conservatives for the housing crisis…I remember building was happening back then, rent/housing was manageable and easy to buy…essentially there wasn’t a housing crisis back then, what the Liberals have introduced over the last few years…the unprecedented mass influx of immigration (liberal voters)..to the tune of somewhere close to 10% increase of the entire population of Canada…this is significant…massive and unsustainable, especially taking in consideration of our current infrastructure. Recipe for disaster, though is an understatement, it’s incompetence…criminal,intentionally putting Canadian lives, their health in danger, risk… Maybe, any one of the stressors manufactured by the Liberals we could endure…but not all at once…something has to give..and robbing one Canadian to hand to another to accomplish their goals is not the way to garner support from Canadian Taxpayers. Let’s be CLEAR and HONEST here…Trudeau and Freeland, they’re NOT asking, this will be forced, and it’s not “a little more” it’s 17% more! 17% ON TOP of the already extreme, highly taxed Canadians! To suggest that they’re “asking” is inherently FALSE, dishonest and disingenuous….moreover, it’s a LIE! Two spouses with a combined family income of $250,000 cannot afford to buy an average home in Toronto unless they have half the down payment on a mortgage loan. Families like these incur high marginal tax rates (over 50%) plus high consumption tax rates (13% HST) plus gas taxes, carbon taxes, property taxes and now higher capital gains taxes. Whatever's left from their after-tax income must be used to pay for transportation, home heating, electricity, telephone & internet connectivity, home repairs and maintenance, child care and also repayments car loans, or home improvement loans. Enough is enough! No more taxes. Cut the wasteful spending.

So true on the nurse thing. I’ve got two older sisters in Nova Scotia and one works as a nurse(years of experience) and the other cleans surgery equipment and OR rooms and they both combined make what I make as a male college dropout in the tech sector. It’s crazy to think an education and experience means nothing now to your value to society.

Say what you want about university degrees or colleges. But this government should be study for generations of what not to do. This government should be studied for incompetence. The big issue with healthcare is doctors have to support a business model such as record keeping, support staff management, office management, ect. The government needs to invest in brick & mortar & office logistic clinics & take the entrepreneur burden off doctors. They have taxpayer capital that can take advantage of purchases of scale that can transition a new generation of doctors to be doctors, rather than be burdened with business management chores & investment anxiety.

Vassy is a beast. She found a niche as a journalist and interviewer that actually does the job the way it’s supposed to be done.

We outpaced all of the G7 in our covid spending. Our Federal civil service is up 40% and productivity is down! We are getting gaslit big time. I just retired and I can say that in the last decade the standard of life in Canada has plummeted. My son is a chef and he has coworkers that live in cars. They are the working poor - full time jobs but they cannot eat, pay rent and own a car. When I was his age pretty well everyone with a full time job could afford to buy a home of some kind. In our big cities only the top 15% of family incomes are sufficient to buy a home and that is assuming you can cough up the massive down payment.

Just to mention that seniors living on a govn't pension is 1/3 less than a nurse. We are all having a hard time
