In this video, we provide an overview and tour of Vasquez Rocks. Located just 45 minutes outside of Los Angeles, California you will find Vasquez Rocks. Vasquez Rocks is a geologic wonder, a popular film location for movies like Star Trek, and just a really great place to hike and take in these amazing rock formations. Vasquez Rocks Natural Area is a public park complete with free parking and an onsite museum. Park hours are shown within the video.

    We used to go camping there as a Boy Scout in the early 60's. At that time there was a Foreign Legion type fort there that was left from one of the many movies shot there. Thanks for the trip down Memory Lane.

    That is a wild looking place for sure !! Very cool too ! It was very interesting to see what movies were made there! Cool looking Gift shop also ! Nature trail looks fun to walk!! Ohhh, man I loved the archeological site !!! Man, I wonder how old those markings were ?!!! Looks like the rocks that are slanted, used to be the flat ground. I wonder if there are any dinosaur footprints in them, from when it was mud. So cool !!! Great stop guys!!! Thanks for the tour !! vicky

    Not far, if I recall correctly I believe it is less than a mile walk into the famous rocks area.

    It is a pleasant walk to the rocks and there is also parking at the main rock formation. Lou
