It's little Costlier, but they gave good service. Changed business model on specialist health care solutions.

i had the honor of working in vasan as a consultant ophthalmologist for 5 years under Dr Am arun. Every year we used to have a consultant-corporates meet.he used to inspire us to go out and treat the patients no matter the cost involved. when we told him the cost of doing Micro incisional catarct surgery to be to expensive because of the high equioment cost he simply said "doctor we will NOT charge an extra penny over the standard cost...i will work day and night and raise capital so that our indian patients will get the benefit of a key hole surgery"and trust me one week later all prime centers in the metros had the advanced Bausch and laumb stellaris machine and a month later all the smaller centers. He was already running an college of optometry and was giving jobs to the students in various vasan branches.He even dreamed of building a state of art medical college and planned to give more to society via quality medical education. not to mention the amount of free cases that they got via eye camps and all of them were operated in the same operation theater as any paying patient. and every wednesday there used to be a doctors short conference and doctors from all over the world came in and discussed new tech/techniques so that the indian doctors will be uptodate. the list goes on and this comments column wont be enough to talk about this visionary. you might have passed on sir. but the dream that you have left behind has inspired us to work harder everyday in giving the same quality of eye care to our countrymen like how you have always inspired us rest in peace / om shanthi AM arun sir '

A great loss

The cost of treatment at Vasan Eye care is prohibitive and I was one of the victim of the hospital. They just fleece the innocent patients without any mercy. Thank god the hospital gone defunct for the good of the society.

With all this money he could live only till 52 yrs ... sad

The good doctor you interviewed did not tell the facts. Arvind hospital and Sakar Netrralaya are: 1. Non profit hospitals. 2. They also do lot of primary and secondary eye care 3.They do lot of free care for the poor patients. 4.They are world class academic institutions and train lot of pos graduates. But Vasan was a profit making venture.

I know about vasan eye Care They never given salary to staffs,intime,They are simply cheating us,so good doctors are not working with them you check anywhere in Tamil Nadu .I got experience in Tambaram.

Vasan eye care was an outstanding place and known for hygiene, cleanliness and sterility. Staff were excellent and their patient information retrieval was of top quality. Needless to mention about the quality of Doctors. Sad the founder is no more and like most business enterprise they also finally folded up. India has lost many such niche level organisations ever since demonitisation.
