Part 1: Varicose veins ultrasound assessment: GSV anatomy assessment

Full master course on ultrasound of varicose veins:abcvascular.com/courses/lower...
When assessing varicose veins there is a common agreement to start the ultrasound examination at the level of the groin and locate the saphenofemoral junction. Some ultrasound practitioner perform as a first step the SFJ venous incompetence test using colour or/and pulse wave Doppler. We suggest to have a better understanding of the anatomy of the great saphenous vein first using B mode to then proceed with venous competence test of the GSV and then continue with other steps. This video shows the first step of an ultrasound assessment in a patient with primary GSV varicose veins. Enjoy.
