When a massive power outage plunges the city of Detroit into total darkness, a disparate group of individuals find themselves alone. The entire city's population has vanished into thin air, leaving behind heaps of empty clothing, abandoned cars and lengthening shadows. Soon the daylight begins to disappear completely, and as the survivors gather in an abandoned tavern, they realize the darkness is out to get them, and only their rapidly diminishing light sources can keep them safe.

"One of the four, a TV news reporter who becomes the group's leader, is played by Hayden Christiansen, who, as many of you know, can't act" This made the review a total win for me.

I just watched this movie and it had a promising begining but then nothing. The end was so unsatisfying and it made me angry. It didn't explain anything and the characters were so flat you didn't care what will happen to them. But I really don't think Hayden Christensen was a problem. I think he acted well and I really like his acting in other movies.

A sequel tying-up the loose-ends could justify the first film and possibly make a great brace of films from one flawed one.

I liked it. Also they had biblical names.Luke.James.Paul. and then Rose mary. Who lost her son.....Mary- jesus's mother. there is one major flaw.which could have taken the story in interesting direction. The locked door in the basement by the generator. No one thought to break the lock or force the door open. could have been food or flash lights in there. But for the most part I liked it.

Having the darkness unexplained isn't necessarily a flaw. If you think of most zombie films they don't explain how the zombie thing started. Never the less that does sound like a bad movie.

Honestly, I don't think Hayden is that bad of an actor. Perhaps, it's this piss poor of an idea for a film that's the real issue.

WOW, This movie seems like it tried and failed at riping off the resent Doctor Who episode "Silence in the Library" and "Forest of the Dead" and I got to say the monster in the Doctor Who episode, the Vashta Nerada, was much better and made a lot more since.

  • @rasnac

This movieis a rip off this idea from Dr.Who creature "Vashta Nerada"(some sort of living shadow-actually colony of flesh eating organismswhich hides in darkness and camouflages as shadows)

What the hell, the TYT guys only have enough money to pay Jonathan Kim now, or what? I'm not really complaining, it's just, you hear varying opinions when there are various people, for obvious reasons. Nice review, I will not be watching this. Since I didn't hear shit about it I probably wouldn't have anyway, though. LOL
