Thanks for your review! The Vangoa RP-01 vinyl record player will be available at the end of June, so stay tuned!
It probably has exactly the same electronics as in a suitcase player, just connected to external speakers. They're using low impedance (4 ohm) speakers to get louder volume from it, but that's pushing the amplifier chip harder, and comes at the expense of greater distortion.
This is one of those cases where if someone will save their money for just a LITTLE bit longer, they can get something way better. At this level, every dollar spent (carefully) makes a lot of difference.
Awesome video there ❤love your reviews on the record players very good 👍🏻 amazing presentation 👏 too there.
I have a Vangoa 3/4 Classical Acoustic guitar and it's great.
The distortion could be from a defective stylus. That is the first thing I would swap to see if it makes a difference. As to the design of the unit, I really dislike these record player\turntables that do not have a full size plinth. Resulting in the cut outs in the dust cover to clear a 12" LP. It screams cheap and in some cases the edge of the LP rubs on the dust cover.

A poor quality stylus, in this case a ruby, is not going to give good sound. It will be worn out after using it on about 15 record sides. Those types of styli cost under a fiver, not the £30 to £120 cost of a good stylus, but you get what you pay for. If you pay peanuts, you get monkeys.

@@johnb6723 Even though it's a inexpensive ruby stylus it shouldn't produce that level of distortion. Diamond stylus are readily available for this type of cart and are inexpensive as well. Which I would replace the factory stylus with from the get go.
Neat video 🐊 That system seems ok, decent enough.

15:00 I do like how thorough you are with testing the extra features.
RP-01 vinyl record player
If it's possible,I would like to see more free vinyl record haul videos that you get for free because I want to see what people get for free because I am not able to collect everything and would like to see more records that I don't know and would like to hear them on the channel
The sound equalization is no good with insufficient bass. A common error is too low an input impedance for ceramic cartridges.
Almost a goody. That record clamp was a surprise addition. Maybe install the spare stylus to see if it resolves the distortion problem.
If it wasn’t for the distortion (not much, but noticeable), this would be the perfect record player for someone just starting the vinyl hobby. They literally would not have to get anything else with all the accessories! Speaking of accessories, from what I can see, the clamp helps bring the speed closer to perfect. Of course, that’s not what a clamp is for. But in this case, it has that added functionality. Where do you purchase one of these? It would be interesting to see what they’re asking for it. Plus, a beginner would have to know where to get one if they wanted one.

Good for someone with tin ears.
As far as the line out label, yes it's not really meant for that, but because of the low output power, if you connect it to an aux in, I think you're pretty safe it's not going to be detrimental to your amplifier as long as you don't overdrive the input. I've done that in the past.
I was told that 78 records require a different type of stylus from the 33 & 45's. True / false??? This doesn't come with two styluses.
I enjoy your intro. What is Mr. Record-ology going to give us today? As far as the record player goes, I can hear the distortion and it's too shrill. Anyways, have a good week.
At least you can hold onto the clamp! 😂
Another awesome video as always. It's a looker, but as stated, not that good sounding. Goodnight good man. Looking forward to your next audio adventure. Thank you for all that you do.
Are you not scared of aligators?!? 😯
Yes it definitely had distortion and I wasn't using headphones or anything like that. I was using my cell phone and if you could hear it on that I can only imagine how bad a really sounded. Sorry not a winner. They need to go back to the factory and rework that one. Hey by the way, welcome to Florida
The VanGoya ? What next , The DaliPollock ?
Not a bad looking unit, shame about the sound quality though
Does the platter have a little warble to it or is the record warped?

NO, it is awesome
It's cute but I notice a little flutter but that's to be expected.

@@Recordology Found it! Thanks man, be safe.
I would have tried another needle or cartridge one of them could be defective!
Um...not sure what to say on this one. It didn't sound distorted to me, but then you hear that album all the time so I'll take your word for it. At least all of the additional functionality worked, that's probably a plus. As I couldn't find this thing for sale anywhere I can't comment on value for money. All in all, pretty meh.
Love these videos but many times you never mention the cost ??
That is not a sapphire stylus, because that would be blue. What you have if it has a reddish hue is a ruby stylus, sometimes bizarrely known as an osmium stylus, with a useful life of about 15 record sides at most, and much distortion. Waste of time.
The Safire needles are absolute garbage, replace immediately with diamond,, have had so many skipping and distortion issues cured by a quality needle.
Same-ol’ cheap Chinese mechanism, unfortunately. Peace.
was not impressed with this unit it sounded horrible too much midrange it looked nice but the ceramic cart ruined it if it sounded like the gemini TT you did a while back that had a ceramic cart but sounded full then it would be good ,I would rather buy the plastic gemini TT then that one ,also that really is not a clamp more of a weight ,a clamp would grab onto the spindle and since skywind makes the unit where the spindle does not spin but platter thats why it is more of a weight and I also will say that even if the platter spins slightly fast the fact that even if you place tone arm on record the platter will spin fast it does not slow down ,I know you have mentioned it on several other reviews of TT's but I noticed that these are tracking at a lite weight it willnot slow down even on a higher tracking tone arm it does not slow ,I tried out my self but I say this respectfully JRo
The distortion and crushed sound could be something is been overdriven, like maybe the ceramic cartridge output is too hot for the internal amp? I wouldn't buy it as it is.
