REST IN PEACE MASTER VANGELIS, THANKS FOR ALL THE MUSICAL GIFT YOU LEFT US! Thanks to you, when my father introduce me to your music in a little town in Mexico I got myself transported to another universe. It was awesome not just see and read about the universe, but to actually hear it. Definitely, if the forces that rules the cosmos have a sound, they would sound like you just described in all your work. Thank you because now, in my late twenty's I still believe that universe can be understood while keeping the magic behind the process. This is music for the experience of being alive, we must keep it as an artist gift!

It is such artists who inspire us with hope. A wonderful world for every person with imagination and a pure soul. Vangelis has been a part of my life for many years, and will continue to be. Funny story I hope someone finds some interest in. I am an avid hip-hop listener, and often I will hear a song used in hip-hop that I recognize the source (sample) music from elsewhere. There was a song called "Say It Ain't So" that used the melody from 'Alpha' back in 2004, and I recognized it immediately as something I had heard before and realized eventually I remembered it from a Cosmos video we had watched in my Biology class in high school. Wild how hearing this can launch me back 16 years.

I love his music. It’s odd how I came to listen to him in the 1st place. I had of course heard The Bladerunner soundtrack and Space Odyssey but I didn’t know of Vangellis and the rest of his treasures. On Memorial Day 2020 I got a lung transplant because I was dying from a lung disease. I was in the hospital for only ten days but during that time after the 1st day they had a music channel on the TV with all different kinds of music. One channel was call chill. In listening to the songs one tune really caught my attention. Like MTV used to do they showed the song name and artist at the start and end of every song. The tune I fell in love with was Fields of Coral by Vangelis and I looked it up on my phone so I didn’t have to wait for the song to cycle back a couple hours later like it did. Since then I have started listening to all his stuff. What a genius. I fell in love with all of it and the best part is it appears if I take the rest of my life I wouldn’t be able to listen to every song as there is So Much. I’m saddened he passed away shortly after I started listening to him but I’m glad I found him. He got me thru a rather traumatic time in my life.
