She's Biracial. Why is it okay to cancel out her other heritage & why are we Black ladies okay with handing over our identity? It's okay that she is Biracial. That is a beautiful race all on It's own. I say this as a Black woman (with a Black mother & Black father) and I am also a mother to two adult Biracial children. I teach them to be proud of all of who they are. Black women are created as a result of Black parents. And before anyone wants to get on me about bringing that up, look at how fiercely White women guard their identity. How often can a Biracial person exclusively claim White unless they can phenotypically pass for White? Biracial people are the people of the future. They are a wonderful mixture of both/and.... both cultures & races. They shouldn't have to feel like they need to choose sides, and we Black women shouldn't be so quick to hand over our identity. It isn't meant to be an insult to Biracial people. Just an acknowledgement of what is. Isn't Kenya Moore the first Miss USA who is Black? Those may be two different pageants but if anyone should hold that kind of title, it should be Kenya Moore, who is a Black woman, daughter of two Black parents

Loud and wrong. She is NOT biracial- she is a Black woman with admixture- she has no white relatives, nor two parents of different races. At best she is multi-generationally mixed but not biracial- there is a difference. You wouldn't even be saying this had she come out with a darker skin tone and brown eyes.

Not for nothing but Vanessa Williams is prettier than her daughters and she's not biracial but because she has green eyes somebody in the family was white black people come to the lightest light to the darkest dark and still very beautiful. My children are biracial and people think that Spanish, they have their fathers Caucasian, wavy wavy. Family and strangers a surprise.

I loved her on Ugly Betty….but my favorites that she played in were Soul Food and Bye Bye Birdie! I auditioned for and got the part of Rose in my highschool version of Bye Bye Birdie, all because I remembered seeing her play Rose when I was a little girl 💜

I saw her at a Lion Babe show in NYC back in 2021. She was just the cutest proud mom, taking pictures and videos of her daughter on stage. They are both stunning in person! The screen and print don't do them justice!

i sat next to her once at a lakers game a million years ago. She had one daughter w/ her at the time. the one she had w/ rick fox. . But she was so friendly and down to earth as if she was just one of us regular people who happened to be at a basketball game. But what i remember most was i literally just stared at how beautiful she was i stopped even watching the game! I had never seen a person who was that beautiful in real life. ❤
