I played this song to my little sisters birthday party pass the parcel back in 1990!! I was wearing a brown blazer with shoulder pads, an acid t-shirt, a bros badge on my green jeans, purple loafers, permed hair and big hoops! I was 14 years young!! My sister was 9! Best days. My mum and dad were awesome, my family home was awesome, life was absolutely amazing! Long summers, beautiful weather everyday for months and months from what i remember. Oh take me back! I try to make my children's childhoods amazing too but life is just nowhere near how it used to be back in the 80s/90s. This song takes me to a good vibe. Im 47 now and still listen to this ❤

One of the first songs I remember. I was a little child - my family was driving back from a trip to the local pet zoo. It was starting to rain heavily as we were in the car. The raindrops hit the car's windows as I was looking out. I was maybe 6 or 7 years old, and that song was playing on the radio. Fortunately, easy to look up the song a few years later since "Joe le Taxi" is what stays with you even as a kid, when it is repeated so often in the song. It's a dear memory of mine.

yes me too i thought they were french classics, looking back now though i see they were used for african-black male with french white female racemixing. the words aren't risque, but we have a 14yo white girl dancing to alpha african-black male. Man, this song takes me back to my High School days!!! In 1987 I was only 13, and after seeing this on Top Of The Pops I instantly fell in love with Vanessa Paradis!!! Such a cute song and such a beautiful girl, and she looked to be around the same age as me (I didnt realise that she was literally the same age!). I even loved that little dance she did as she sang haha!!! We even covered the songs lyrics in French lessons, which was where Vanessa's beautiful voice really hooked me. She was definitely my first proper celeb crush haha!!!

@@bogantellectual Oh cool I didn’t know this, I was just binging 80’s music and this got recommended.

This is a real blast from the past, I was 10 when this came out and like any other boy at that age, we all had a crush on Vanessa. Sounds so fresh to hear on a summers evening, but makes me nostalgic and reminds me that the days of our childhood really are the best days of our life. We live in a totally different world now.

When I was 16 I saw this video and I fell in love right there, girlfriend number 3 when I was 17 was French and looked like Vanessa, had my eye on the prize and scored big time, I married at 20, she's still my wife, and I'm 43 .
