Not a falcon soprano since it's not a fach and Vanessa is not an opera singer. She was a high soprano with a brassy voice that matured into a darker big lyric(like Melba Moore).

Such a shame that an Australian icon such as Vanessa isn’t representing the country at Eurovision! She was the clear winner to me! If she won, Australia might’ve actually had a chance at winning our first Eurovision 😢

It was probably for the best since the contest ended up being cancelled. This would be a hard song to top if she came back in 2021 but I think she would have at least kept the qualification streak going. I firmly believe had this song gone in 2020 and the contest wasn't cancelled this would have given Australia their first win.

This girl is underrated. I remember Heroes Live Forever When She was 19yo in Olympic games opening and it was amazing. She has one of the best voice of top ten in all the world. This song should have won. Her Voice is strong, But not the best in the last 50 years, cuz Whitney Huston has mabye the best voice. But its a shame that Vanessa lost. But i still love this song a lot!

Dare to Eurovision Vanessa has definitely had better performances, but that doesn’t take away this performance greatness, she always delivers vocally (and yeah, I wish she won that night).

Really i loved Vanessa’s song it was the best of all! The publics favorite if you listen to the televote the crowd was for Vanessa

@@larbot3433 Vanessa was 2nd in Jury vote and 3rd in public vote... but the night before (the jury performance, her better and in the exit poll she was the clear favourite). She was by no means middle ground.

Because Mans released that song together with Dotter back in March of last year, it was before the deadline. And neither of them are Australian, so it wouldn't make sense for them to join Australia Decides

Real winner - happy w Montaigne though

I love Vanessa, and very disappointed she didn't make it through. BUT This performance isn't up to par with every other one I've seen, live and televised. Still think the panel made the wrong choice choosing who they did, as this was actually the best song. If it were just the public, then it would have been between Vanessa and Casey, no doubt about it.

Great performance and catchy song. Aaaaaamazing high note. A bit shouty in the chorus so pronunciation of lessons of love was hard to understand to non-native speakers but she could have worked on that. This was fantastic.

Austrialia SO got it wrong. This is in a another league compared to Don't Break Me which is boring and so formulaic.

I really think some of the songs that won the national final where just typical 2020... but Vanessa definitely should have went to Eurovision, but it woulda have been a crime not getting to perform this at the finals

Way less movement than Montaigne that's why, Montaigne's vocals were quite extraordinary for that much choreography and she actually has a more unique voice + performance which is exactly what Eurovision is

Why didn’t this win?!

This is a fantastic, very polished performance and of course her vocals are amazing!! I'm kind of glad it didn't win though; I feel like the competition is moving away from power ballads with soaring vocals because it's been overdone. Lately it has mostly been quite unique songs winning e.g. Not Your Toy, 1944, Amar Pelos Doir

People are so salty over it.. Yeah ok, we didn't win but someone amazing got an opportunity to represent us.

Her routine was visually better than anyone elses, the only drawback was ... people don't usually sing with a full dance routine because it fucks up their vocals, and that's what the negative was for me. I have no doubt she can sing, but noone does while dancing. It's why dancers mime.

I wish she was entered next year with this song. But you can't has be new song which I think stupid rule. Eurovision so strict and they say bring people together always make it look like meant be so inclusive so why then a song never been sung in eurovision but before when countries decide sure it can be entered what's the big deal. I hate that rule

It was better.

Pitchy in places, especially on the "I am" beginning to the chorus which is a really vital part of the song. The gradual dress removal was completely unnecessary also. I loved this song going in and did throw a few votes its way but Montaigne was the deserved winner overall.

Vanessa had a superior song...her jury show performance was much better and the exit polls reflected this. Lessons is an amazing track, it would have bern perfect for Eurovision... But nice try.
