Regarding the material - the recent tenders floated by the Indian railways for these trainsets have considered aluminium as the material of choice instead of stainless steel. It is presumed that aluminium coaches may reduce the weight of the coaches and save propulsion energy.

Beginning of a change? I agree but when we begin something, it shouldn't be by using the worse tech possible compared to other countries. It puts us down in the eyes of others. I traveled in Italy Milan to Rome the fastest one and first class the executive class they just give me one sandwich and drinks it’s included non alcoholic and alcohol drinks for 3 hours. Even in America airlines I traveled in business class from Miami to Washington DC they also only give one sandwich.but In India we get more food and beverages.

If it is a hit or flop , time will only tell. But VB is a step for us to try something different indigenously and in that process of iteration both engineering and service will improve and an opportunity for VB to optimize on cost.

VB should start balanchetans outlet soon atleast in kerala.

With due respect to Mrinal, don’t engage in mud slinging. Like SGK mentioned, this is a great start and speed will improve as the track straightens and once they move to automatic signalling. We need to start somewhere and in the current state, our railways were pretty much at the same state as Britishers left off. Modernisation is a welcome change and is long due. Our apartment is right next to the Hyderabad line in Bangalore. Though we have a playing ground and two boundary walls separating the apartment block from the line, even on the 14th floor the sound is unbearable. I have to go on mute when a train pass. Trolling a modern train for quality of food is almost like missing the point. See the positives and spread positivity instead on building walls and spreading negativity. Get back to your usual self and distance yourself from this rubbish, please 🙏

Hardly 20 trains are being made and we got 1 itself in the initial stage itself . Let the production gain speed we will get more train and also the track should be strengthened and extra lines should be laid. We shoul move to 4 to 6 lane from the 2 lane along with national highways.

People should not underestimate the acceleration and deceleration benefit of a multiple unit train like VB.This benefit is more in Kerala section where there are frequent speed restrictions
