jan, I had Breast Cancer, been thru several surgeries, husband gone, lost my home, so much is still dangling. Christ is my healer but I still have to listen to his music cause he's had some trouble too. Thanks for sharing. Things will get better. You Tube is great, Van is great but God is even greater. I'm thinking of U.

Hmm I love Van but no.

“If this is success then something must be wrong.” “You must look for happiness within yourself. And don’t go chasing thinking that it is out there somewhere else.” Who hasn’t felt burned out from our profession and daily lives. This song has more meaning each time I listen to it

Van the Man I have seen him live and he is the bomb.A funny thing happened at the concert. I went with my wife and she has brown eyes. So Brown eyed Girl is her fave by him. On the way to the show she said I hope he does Brown Eyed Girl. I said he probably will not. So he comes out on stage and at the start of the show he grabs the mike and says I really don't wont to hear you people shouting out sing Brown Eyed Girl so lets get it over with and he proceeded to sing the very best rendition of Brown Eyed Girl. It brought the house down and the show was absofukinlutly great. My wife was happy I was happy and the place was rocking. Thank you Van the Man

The best of the best of Van Morrison. They swing so hard the pocket can't get any deeper.

I am rediscovering Van after years of raising a family and being totally out of the loop. Wow! I forgot how awesome he is!

This is the best version I've ever heard. The band subtly raises the volume and intensity throughout the song. Great solos, great fills. The guy up front is a very good singer too. The Master!

Absolutely magnificent. A genius.

I listen to this often - the arrangement is so perfect, and I love how the tempo is picked up close to the halfway point. The organ and violin and steel pedal, and that lead guitar is talent.The two percussions are well done as are the backup singers.. This is a perfection version and, of course, that Sir Van voice.

When he shouts “organ! !! Organ “ Song turns another direction and sounds even better Funny how he must sang it dozens of times but wanted organ louder to make it sound better and by god it did 👍

This is truly Van at his very best. When all the old-timers die out so will great music.

The band is killing it and Van is just his awesome self.

This man with his band, this song and the vibes.... cool, satisfying, moving... the ultimate cool!

Van is the only musician whose voice gets better & better as he gets older❤❤😊😊

Had the pleasure to enjoy his appearance in Vienna, Austria, last Tuesday, 18.4.2023, and may confirm that you are right. :-D What a singer, what a Man, what a 'resonance body'!

What can I say about Van that wasn't said before. Unique!

No one does it better than Van!!!

Every one knows the big big radio hits but there is so much more to Van Morrison that is to be discovered and enjoyed. This and Into The Mystic are my personal favorites. The older I get the more I appreciate this.

This is real music!! Wonderful...

The arrangement on this gig is amazing. Then he kicks it up a bit in the middle. He brings in each instrument in at the right time. Guitar work amazing. The slide. 2 drum sets n percussion. Organ so great. And of course that Van voice and the brilliantly song. I just love that pick up beat @ “she was pretending all the time”

"All I did was sell my soul with a fountain pen... but I'm not feeling it anymore." I always find diamonds in his songs... Musically and/or lyrically. Thank you, Mr. Morrison ❤️ No drugs, no alcohol, etc. I'm addicted to great songs.

My sister and I both had seeing him on our "bucket list" and finally saw him last year in Pennsylvania. There were cars from at least 5 states in the parking lot. We are ladies in our 60's and share all our CD's. The live videos are so good. Caravan on the Last Waltz is addictive. Watched it so much. Most people don't know him and I always share by pulling up some videos on my phone.

Van use to have a record store in Fairfax Ca. called Calidonia Records. My girlfriend use to work at this restaurant called The Sleeping Lady Cafe. Van would come in there and play all the time.

What a wonder version of this song. Van puts so much into it and surrounded by fine musicians.

fell in love with this song when i saw Van in 1992 in Dublin when Hymns to the Silence came out and he was touring the album. this studio version is not as good as this and his other live versions of it. such a brilliant song. it rocks along so subtly with a fluent driving backbeat in the background.

The man is truly unique: his music is a synthesis of so many types of music. I apologise to his fans who know all about him but this excerpt from the Wiki page on him explains his eclecticism: "His father had what was at the time one of the largest record collections in Ulster (acquired during his time in Detroit, Michigan, in the early 1950s)[12] and the young Morrison grew up listening to artists such as Jelly Roll Morton, Ray Charles, Lead Belly, Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee, and Solomon Burke;[11][13] of whom he later said, "If it weren't for guys like Ray and Solomon, I wouldn't be where I am today. Those guys were the inspiration that got me going. If it wasn't for that kind of music, I couldn't do what I'm doing now."[14] His father's record collection exposed him to various musical genres, such as the blues of Muddy Waters; the gospel of Mahalia Jackson; the jazz of Charlie Parker; the folk music of Woody Guthrie; and country music from Hank Williams and Jimmie Rodgers,[11] while the first record he ever bought was by blues musician Sonny Terry.[15]"

Wrong, read the history...Not your emotions....An early associate collected every nickel on "Brown Eyed Girl."...And hate is the medium......And not dealing "with anymore" over "Brown Eyed Girl" rights, is quite possibly a rebuttal..I believe he sings his life as a poet with injuries ......On record, loud interruptions from an audience member demands for this "Brown Eyed Girl" are met with with great disdain........A "Don't fuck with me.". and your interfering with my band! ..."

I can play this tune back to back for hours. And have. They're definitely in the groove. Loved Van since long before Hard Nose The Highway, a relatively obscure Van album from about '72 or '73.

I love this live version... and I am completely taken by the band and singers...

GOD---Van is magnificent & the band is BLOODY AMAZING. From a mad keen 74yo Aussie fan.

Van makes me so happy with the abundance of awesome music he continually masters and puts out. Thank you. I have a bragging bundle of Van CD’s which I prefer over Spotify. I like to hear how Van the artist arranges the songs the way he wants is to hear them.

Hang in there Jan paro, I couldn't feel any lower until I found Van had a song had not heard b4. Made me feel better all over.

I have a rare double cancer..and quite honestly-- I use Van Music for part of my therapy. drs are amazed; I told them that if MORE people were to plug in van- and theyd be outta work! haa

Jan Paro...I feel compelled to say hi. This music, Van, is magical for me. I punched up your site, saw your other music and rediscovered "Ripple". I only saw Van once (sadly) but have seen the Dead play "Ripple" many times. Van remains me all time favorite though...enjoy the music while we have it.
