As a Retired O.T.R. Trucker and living out of a suit case for 25 yrs. I can relate to the Fascination of living in a van. I've lived in my semi for such a long time I do miss it. I hope to do it again this time in a van so I can visit all the other places I couldn't because I was in my 18 wheeler.
Yep, those Westfalia vans are a great small package. They even have a 4x4 version. I had a '72 VW MicroBus for a few years. Loved it. I lived in it most of 1985. Thanks for another fun, informative video. Happy Camping!
i love that tiny kitchen set up///with stove, frig....very cool.
Many blessings to you both and your adventures
The classic oil surplus behind the drivers seat. Love it.
Nice setup. I have "Van Envy" LOL. Thanks for sharing.
Had my 1985 Westfalia for 19 years now, finally got a Subaru H6 3.0L engine, a Freeway flyer transmission and Go Westy 16" Alloy Wheels, added Vanagon AC ;.... at last true Fahrvergnuegen!
Great interview! Thanks for your hard work!

Thumbs up !Cool van.ENJOY....THE SIMPLE LIFE
This channel is awesome. I am slowing working my way through all of them. My wife rolls her eyes every time I say, "Babe we could totally do this." I know all she is thinking about where are we going to put to young children and all of my stuff. LOL, she is teaching me to throw things away. Once the garage is cleaned out I am sure she will be more inclined to listen.

Great video. I own a 1988 version, and it requires a lot of maintenance. Perhaps a future video will highlight maintenance. It's worth owning one.
I live in hawaii and am thinking of buying a westfalia to live in. I'm watching all the videos I can to learn about this life. It would be urban living cuz I am on Oahu and work in Honolulu. But I'm still really wanting to go for it. I can shower at work, or the gym. Keep my lunch and breakfast at work. I'll buy a storage unit for my extra stuff. Also rent a parking spot monthly in Waikiki for whenever I want to go there. After all that I only need to figure out my routine and how to store dirty laundry without it stinking.
Glad I found your channel, very positive and anti matrix. You've got a new subscriber.
Amazing! 😎👍🏼✌🏼️

No supper tonight lol 😝 when he opened the fridge to funny
Awesome!!!!!! Good health and safe travels to you both. Cheers, Mate.
Excellent 👌
Thanks for the upload. I live this way (in a coach-built camper in Europe) because I want to, not because I have to. I'd pay more to live this way to be as free, but it is much cheaper of course.
Another great video. Did they say say what mileage they get with it? Although that would have to be offset with the high cost of repairs.
To think where I come from vow vans were used mostly by drinks salesmen...hard to get your hands on a clean enough one to build
Can you do a video on the clothing items you kept?
Really nice van, i guess the pop top makes it much more comfortable. I wonder how you could make it warmer for sleeping in so you don't have to make up the bottom bed everynight
@ExploringAlternatives
8 жыл бұрын
+Ed Hatfield Yeah, I agree. Maybe there would be a way to insulate the pop top, or at least parts of it so that it still opens and closes. I would also make sure to use sleeping bags with the proper temperature rating :)
ln this vid on the end you show Lunenburg and the Cape Breton trail. When were you here? I'm a Lunenburger, next county over now. Nice vid.

It's easy once you train your brain to want less. I got into vanlife after I started practicing minimalism, so the transition was very easy. If you're a millionaire you might find it extremely difficult, but there's even a baseball player for the Toronto Blue Jays that lives in his van.

iReturnV1deotapes I read that article about the baseball player. I love this life and wouldn't trade the experience for anything. I am 9 months deep now.

lt may beautiful here in NS, but it can get mighty cold. We have roaring fire in the airtight. Husband was out setting lobster traps today is dump day; cold with little wind.

I'm so nervous about getting a propane heater. My girlfriend and I love camping. We usually sleep in the back of her hatchback because the seat is so comfortable. Is it to have a propane heater on all night in that small of a space? Can we get one with a timer?

If it weren't for the lack of a bathroom that size would be all I need. After having lived out of a vehicle before and using the shower at the YMCA and the bathroom at the coffee shop where I'd spend the evening, I'll never buy a van that doesn't include its own shower and toilet. I don't need a lot of space, but I do need my own bathroom, though the older I get the more likely I am to accept a wet bath rather than demanding a dry bath.

Liam Phoenix you think there can be made In it a shower? There would be no space for it? Cause I'm thinking of buying this, but will have to have my own shower
If you have a fridge, WHY do you need a cooler take up limited floor spac???
I had 3..never again lol
How are These red blue and White and green flags with some kind of spells called wich are hanging inside the van? See them very often in Vans. Cheers...
