Great vid, awesome turn out for your van build. I appreciate how you carry yourself, you enjoy yourself with your dog, have positive ideas and execute them, very organized and an all around great time to watch. I like the option to still have your apartment and still go out and about on the road when you want. That to me fits to a tee! 💪🏽

My build is basically "Fruit Crate" I put the money in a fairly large power station with a couple of backups. Which means I have a microwave and an induction cooktop the way to be cheap and just have gravity feed water. I was like having the option of being able to do music performances off grid.

But this time you have previous experience of the things you like and don’t like and equipment, you might add or change in this new, build so onward and upward and enjoy.

Hey Wil, great choice in getting another PMC. IMHO, for your situation, Cascade is the way to go. Advantages: No need for building space, or tools. One day completion. Great fit and finish. Easily updatable. Disadvantages: Higher cost. Not as customized to individual needs. I’m doing a DIY on my PMC. I’ve got garage space and tools for the job, and am in no hurry to finish the build. I’ve taken a few pics on my build, and can share them if you want to go the DIY route. Cheers!

There are so many variations out there, just like vans. ;) I took delivery of my “van 2.0” a couple of weeks ago. It might be a touch too big, but it has the tech I wanted and enough space for two people and a little dog. I look forward to the new series. Again congrats to you and Rambo! 🎉

Yay! I'm happy to see you going back on the road! You were one of the main channels I watched when doing my own search. A few years ago I had my heart set on a Nissan NV200. Then they quit selling them in the US. Upon looking into it more, I decided a Ram PMC would be better. Then I was trying to find the right build. There was a lot that I liked about the Cascade build (my parents even live very close by), but other things that I didn't (fridge placement, and a few others after watching you). There are 2 places here in Colorado I was looking at, mainly Wayfarer. I liked that you could get the "Wally" all together or parts of it Ala carte. I also liked that you could pull it all out and stll use the van as a van. But it didn't grab me 100% for other reasons such as I didn't like the little flip-down table. The one build I kept going back to was the flat-pack kit by VanLab. I just really loved the layout/floor plan. But those are made for the NV200. I kept wondering if I could make it work in a PMC. In the meantime, I started getting the bits and bobs I wanted to complete my "vision". I really like the way Europeans do their campers with the awnings and add-a-room panels! But I couldn't find anything I could get behind here in the states, so I bought one of those Clam pop-up screen rooms. Then early last year I happened to be browsing on Cars dot com and saw a used PMC for sale in Salt Lake. I looked at it closer and it already had a build in it! It had more miles on it than I wanted, but they had to be mainly highway ones so I went for it. So this has the other Colorado build in it, Contra Vans. I love that it has the Maxxair fan, wall covering, some lighting, solar, and a Dometic fridge in a good spot. Don't likes: can't use side doors for access, not modular. There were no cushions, so I bought patio furniture ones at Walmart. The back turns into one big platform, so it basically became a giant dog bed for my 2 dogs. Anyway, Contra Vans has a couple different options for the PMC. My van is a 2018, so I'm sure there are some updates. They are in the Denver metro area. I remember 2 years ago I was hoping to meet you guys on the road as I thought my corgi would have loved hanging out with Rambo, but my little man left us last month. I am excited to see all your new adventures, and I still hope to bump into you out there as I would love to have a cooking competition 😉

Hi Will, Great deal on the van. I can't seem to find one with low miles and electric side mirrors. AND in good condition. I like the Cascade Camper. I don't like the counter color (I would cover it.,or that the fridge is right on top. It is the best deal for what you get though.

I love small vans. Good choice again. With the gas prices this is a very smart decision. I would try to build custom as I think Cascade campers are not utilizing space wisely and do not have enough storage but you are minimalist so that might work again and with the home base should be fine. Good luck on your journey. I will follow your adventures.

How about en EV Minivan? I mean VW ID buzz is slated to be coming to US and so is the KIA ev9. Will they be good enough considering their size and utilities, setting aside the gas vs ev aspect?

  • @WillandRambo

EV has at least a decade to go before it's convenient to own. When they can reduce charging times and availability to less than an hour, then I'll start looking. If you can charge an iPhone from 20% to 80% in under an hour, you can probably do it with EV as well.
