Wow, great memories when I watch this movie, I think every kid at the time in my school including my self took up some form of martial arts watching this movie! This great movie never gets old!

There’s some mom and pop theaters that show old school movies. In Chicago they have one where they occasionally show movies from all eras. I’d Google a vintage theater in your area and ask them to play Bloodsport!

At the time, they didn't know the sheer amount of crap he had made people believe. But, the movie had the necessary requirements for the 90's: Martial arts, violence, one-liners and a good cast of established and emerging star actors and martial artists. and it's still getting watched in the 2020's.

The camera angle during Dim Mak was awesome, really captured the mystique of the move with brick shattering.

great 80's movies, van dam was great, he brought his own thing to karate movies

I always liked how the judges had a couple of stacks of bricks at the admission desk ready to go just in case some gaijin trying to pass himself off as a ninja clan member needed to be vetted by performing a technique exclusive to that clan first to see if the roundeye was indeed legit.

@@805oxnardsocal when this movie originally came out in the 80s they made it out to be that it was fully based on actual events but in truth Frank Dux (who did actually exist) never fought in the “Kumite” and made the entire story up. In fact many people say he would more often than not get his ass kicked at most martial arts tournaments.

This movie got me into martial arts and 30 plus years after I’m still there. What once was difficult became easy. Even if Dux was a giant fraud (how did he think he would not be exposed ?!??) I’m thankful for this film

Probably the coolest scene in the whole movie.

McDonalds should do a burger called the "Dim Mac", the death spice Big Mac = Its so hot that it makes your bottom explode (just like that bottom brick), and it makes you pull faces and make noises just like JCVD does as he focusses and unleashes the inner beast in this clip!!

The 80s/90s were a special time 💯

I watched this movie when I was kid. It's so petty that Jean and Bolo played in this BS story movie but the movie and actors were all great. Most of the people started MMA because of all these legends. Thank you for such great time and motivation.

According to Newton's third law: If object A exerts a force on object B, then object B must exert a force of equal magnitude and opposite direction back on object A. So technically the brick did hit back.

Totally low key observation, but when the scene starts, there's no sign of Chung Li anywhere. Then when all the fighters gather to watch Frank perform the Dim Mak, Chung Li appears from the background like a menacing shadow. It's kind of creepy.

The thing that gets me about this is the realization he later does this move to the sumo wrestlers privates.

I like how there's a stack of bricks just conveniently located off to the side for demonstrating the death touch. Some guy setting up all these bricks while everyone else is actually doing useful shit: "You never know."
